(p. 345) g or గా ga. The adverbial sign, for కాన్ as తిన్నగా correctly, slowly, gently, వంకరగా crookedly. It is added to the Infinitive in A, as చేయగ or చేయగా, చూడగ. It is also added to nouns to give them an adverbial force. పుష్పములను నీకు సాయకంబులుగ జేసె he provided thee with flowers for arrows. నల్లగనున్నది it is black. గ stands for 'గజము a yard. In prosody గ denotes గురువు a long syllable, and గా or గగము is a spondee. గ also stands for గద్య prose. In music గ is the note called mi in European music.
(p. 345) g ga. [Tel. & Skt. formed from the shape of the legs in walking.] The letter G as in great. Some Telugu words at pleasure change the letter G into V. Thus పగలు or పవలు, తీగ or తీవ. So in English, thus: guile and wile; gate and way; guard and ward; guise, and wise.

Venerable పూజ్యము. గంగగోవు a venerable cow పంచగంగలు the five great rivers, i.e., the Cauvery, the Tungabhadra, the Krishna, the Godavery and the Ganges. గంగచిప్ప ganga-chippa. n. A large white cockle shell. గంగడోలు ganga-ḍōlu. n. The dewlap of cows and other animals.
గంగమయిల
(p. 346) gaṅgamayila ganga-mayila. [Tel.] adj. Dun, dark, grizzled. నలుపును పసుపును కలిపిన (ఆవు.)

(p. 346) gaṅgamma gangamma. [Skt.] n. The name of a village goddess.

(p. 346) gaṅgarāvi ganga-rāvi. [Tel.] n. A tree called Hibiscus Populneus. The leaf has a short tail and the wood is worthless. (Ainslie. ii. 333.)

(p. 346) gaṅgarēgu ganga-rēgu. [Tel.] n. A species of jujube tree with bright yellow fruit. Zizyphus jujuba. పెద్దరేగు.

(p. 346) gaṅgavāḍijallulu ganga-vāḍi-jallulu. [Tel.] n. An ornament on a horse's breast.
గంగాజలములు
(p. 346) gaṅgājalamulu gangā-dharuḍu. [Skt.] n. A title of Siva, because the river Ganges was supported on his head.

గంగిరెద్దు
(p. 346) gaṅgireddu or గంగెద్దు gangi-r-eddu. n. A bull that is dressed with bells, &c., and taught to dance. గంగెద్దుచేప gangeddu-chēpa. n. A star-fish.
