(p. 6) aṅguḷamu anguḷamu. [Skt.] n. The thumb (not used in Telugu.) An inch. అంగుళి anguḷi. [Skt.] n. A finger, or toe. వేలు. అంగుళిత్రము or అంగుళిత్రాణము anguḷitramu. [Skt.] n. A guard of leather of iron worn by archers on the thumb. అంగుళిమానము [Skt.] n. A measure with the fingers or arms; such as a span, a cubit, &c. అంగుళీయకము [Skt.] n. A finger ring. ఉంగరము

(p. 1172) vitasti vitasti. [Skt.] n. A span; twelve fingers' breadth. జేన, పండ్రెండు అంగుళములమేర.

(p. 1224) vēlu or వ్రేలు vēlu. [Tel.] n. A finger, a toe, a claw. An inch. అంగుళము. పెనువేలు or బొటనవేలు the thumb or great toe. చిటికెనవేలు the little finger or toe. ఆ విద్యలో వాడు వీనికంటె రెండువేళ్లు మించినవాడు that man is a little above this one in learning. వేలువిడిచిన మేనమామ an uncle removed by one step of relationship, lit: by the omission of one finger. ఏమైనా వేలుకు వేలు ఎడమే every two fingers are separate: a proverb, meaning that there is a difference even between those (son, nephews, &c.) who appear to be equally in favour. నోట్లో వేలుపెట్టుకొని పోయినాడు he went off with his finger in his mouth, i.e., he was disappointed or cheated.

(p. 1239) vrēlu, vrēlāḍu or వ్రేలుకాడు vrēlu. [Tel.] v. n. To hand down, dangle. వేలాడు. వ్రేలు v. n. To sink under water, మునుగు. వ్రేలు or వేలు vrēlu. n. A finger. An inch, అంగుళము. వ్రేలుచు, వ్రేల్చు or వ్రేలజేయు vrēlutsu. v. a. To hang down. To wash, కడుగు. వ్రేలుడు vreluḍu. adj. Hanging down. వ్రేల్మిడి or వ్రేలుమిడి vrēl-miḍi. n. A crack of the fingers. i.e., an instant. చిటిక. 'హయములనాలుగునొక వ్రేల్మిడిని నిలబడనేసెన్.' M. XIII. i. 296. వ్రేల్మిడుచు vrēl-miḍuṭsu. v. n. To snap the fingers. చిటికవేయు. 'చూచుచుచేరి వ్రేల్మిడుచుచున్ దలయూచివిషణ్నచిత్తయై యాచపలాక్షి ముక్కు పయినంగుళముంగ దియించి.' M. IV. ii. 357.
