(p. 90) allāḍu or అల్లలాడు allāḍu. [Tel. అల్ల+ఆడు] v. n. To shake, move, wave, toss about, to wander about, to be in distress. ఆడు, గాలికి కొట్టుకొను, తిరుగు, సంచరించు, కడగండ్లబడు. 'ధరాచక్రమల్లాడె.' N. iv. 288. ధ్వజపటము గాలికి అల్లాడుచున్నది the flag flutters in the wind. కూటి అల్లాడుతాడు he is in want of bread. కొలువుకు అల్లాడుతాడు he is in trouble for want of employment. అల్లాటము allāṭamu [Tel.] n. A to-andfro movement, wandering about. అల్లారుదు or అల్లార్చు allāruṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To shake, move, vibrate, agitate, wag, wave. ఆడించు, విసురు. 'ఘనవాలమల్లార్చు.' N. i. 144. అల్లారుముద్దు allāru-muddu. [Tel. అల్ల+ఆరు+ముద్దు.] Prettiness, agreeableness, sweetness. జనసమ్మతి, అతిప్రేమాస్పదము. అల్లారుముద్దుగా ad. Prettily, agreeably, sweetly, pleasantly. జనసమ్మతిగా, అందరికి సంతోషముగా, ముచ్చటగా. 'పడుచుదనమున వేడుకపడుచున్నాడు ముద్దరాండ్రకు నల్లారు ముద్దుగాను.' N. ix. 102.

Curds beaten with water, buttermilk. మజ్జిగ. చల్లకైవచ్చి ముంత దాచనేల, చల్లకు పోయి ముంత దాచడమేమి why conceal your pot when you come for buttermilk, i.e., why do you beat about the bush? or, why mince the matter? చల్ల or చల్లని adj. Cool, cold. శీతము. Benign, merciful, healing. Comfortable. చల్లకము ṭsallakamu. n. Sprinkling. Watering, irrigation. చల్లుట. చల్లకడి ṭsalla-kaḍi. n. Flummery: buttermilk mingled with fenugreek. మెంతిమజ్జిగ. చల్లకవ్వము ṭsalla-kavvamu. n. Easily, gently, well, safely, comfortably: in good health, softly, deliberately. చల్లగాచూచు to look at or regard with satisfaction. చల్లగామాట్లాడు to speak coolly or gently. మీదొరతనము చల్లగా నుండవలెను may your reign be peaceful! వాని చెయ్యి చల్లగా నుండవలెను may his hand be blessed! 'తే అందరికి నన్నివగల నానాందమిచ్చి, చల్లచేయగ.' (Ila. i. 79.) with her graces she charmed them all, cheering and refreshing their hearts. కన్నులచల్లచేసె. (T. ii.38.) it cheered his eyes. చల్లని చెయ్యగల వైద్యుడు a physician with a lucky hand. చల్లనిప్రభువు a kind master. చల్లచప్పుడు ṭsalla-ṭsappuḍu. n. A fool జడుడు. చల్లచీమ or చలిచీమ ṭsalla-chīma. n. A black ant, so called because it is benign or merciful in not stinging as the red ant does. చల్లజంపు ṭsalla-zampu. n. One who kills in cold blood. A cruel man భయంకరుడు. చల్లటి ṭsllaṭi. adj. Cool Convex. చల్లటిబిళ్ల a convex plate of glass. as distinguished from అద్దపుబిల్ల a pane. చల్లడము or చల్లాడము ṭsallaḍamu. n. Tight drawers or breeches: short trousers, which reach as far as the middle of the thigh. The loose skirt end of the waist band that hangs in front: ఇ౛ారు, సగముతొడవరకు తొడుగుకొనే గుడిగి. చల్లదనము or చల్లన ṭsalla-danamu. n. Coolness, coldness. చల్లనీరుకణితి ṭsalla-nīru-kaṇiti. n. A sort of fish. A species of sparus. Russell's fishes. No. 104. చల్లలపడు ṭsalla-paḍu. v. n. To cool. చల్లన గు. చల్లరసము Same as చల్లకడి. చల్లరాడు tsalla-rāḍu. n. The post (తరికంబము) round which the string passes, which works the churning stick. చల్లవడియము tsalla-caḍiyamu. n. A kind of cake. వడియములలో ఒకభేదము. చల్లచేయు ṭsalla-chēyu. v. t. Friendship, partnership, holding in common. స్నేహము, సహవాసము, విశ్వాసము, ఉమ్మడి, అవిభక్తిత. పోరునష్టి, పొత్తులాభము (proverb) quarrelling is a loss, friendship is a gain. పొత్తునగుడుచు to eat together as messmates, బిగిసిగాతిను. వీధులు అందరికిపొత్తు the streets are free or common to all men. ఆ సరుకులు పొత్తున కొన్నారు they bought the goods between them, or as common stock. ఆ పని పొత్తులుపోక పడవేసిపెట్టినారు the work is left undone because they could not settle which of them should do it, ఆ పని నీదంటే నీదని పడవేసిపెట్టినారు. 'నృపుపొత్తుబాముపొత్తుంగపటుండగు మిత్రుపొత్తుగడుసరిపొత్తుం, విపరీత భార్య పొత్తుం నెపమిది నిడువంగవలయు.' Sumati. 129. 'ఇట్టి అవమానపుపొత్తు మనంగ వచ్చునే.' M. IV. iii. 33. పొత్తులవాడు he in whom both parties have an equal right or interest. ఇద్దరికి సమమైనవాడు. 'ఏనుపొత్తులవాడనై యిరువురకును.' ib. XII. v. 257. adj. Friendly, united, associated. స్నేహితము, సంగతము. పొత్తుకాడు pottu-kāḍu. n. A friend, స్నేహితుడు. పొత్తుకత్తె pottu-katte. n. A female friend. స్నేహితురాలు. పొత్తుగుడుచు pottu-guḍuṭsu. v. n. To avail or come to good. పనికివచ్చు.' సత్యములు పొత్తుగుడుచునా సున్నుతాంగి భళిర సత్యములానలైనచ్చునీకు.' Ila. iv. 21. టీ సత్యములు పొత్తుగుడుచునా, బాసలు కలిసివచ్చునా. పొత్తుగుడుపు pottu-guḍupu. n. Eating together as messmates. పంజ్క్తిభోజనము. పొత్తుచేయు pottu-chēyu. v. n. To make friends with, to cultivate friendship, to associate with, స్నేహము చేయు. పొత్తువు pottuvu. n. An epithet of Sarasvati, సరస్వతి.

Subordinate, inferior, subject to. అధీనము. లొచ్చైన. తక్కువ. బీదవాడు బిచ్చగానికికూడా లోకువ the poor man is beneath even a beggar. నేను అందరికిన్నీ లోకువ I am every man's servant, I am a slave to every body. మాకు లోకువగానుండేవారు those who are subject to us. 'కంతుబారికిన్ లోకువగానివారు ధరలోగలరే.' T. iii. 84. వాండ్లను లోకువచేసుకొన్నాడు he got them into his power.

(p. 1291) sattamamu sat-tanamu. [Skt.] adj. Best, most excellent, most pure, very holy. మరీమంచి, మిక్కిలిశ్రేష్ఠమైన, పూజ్యమైన, సత్తముడు sat-tamuḍu. n. The best or most excellent of men. అందరికంటె మంచివాడు. అందరికంటె పూజ్యుడు, శ్రేష్ఠుడు.
