(p. 4) aṅke anke. [Tel.] n. A numerical figure అంకము. Opportunity, time. One pack, half a bullock load. A form of అణక. Bringing the yoke under the neck, as by a troublesome bullock. ఎద్దులు అంకె వేసికొన్నవి the bullocks turned restive, bringing the yoke under the neck. A command, authority, control, restraint, check. అంకెగొను v. i. To cover oneself with కప్పుకొను. అంకెచేయు v. i. To obstruct అడ్డగించు.అంకెకురాని,(భాస్క.2.) ungovernable. అంకెకురావు, అనగా అక్కరకురావు they will not be of any use. అంకెవేసికొను or అణకవేసికొను v. n. To be restive, as a bullock in the yoke. ఎద్దయకాడికెదురు తిరుగుట. నాడు తేపతేపకు అంకెవేసికొనును. he turns restive every now and then.

(p. 6) aṅguḍutuḍipi anguḍu-tuḍupi. [Tel.] n. A backbiter, incendiary. ఇక్కడిమాట అక్కడ అక్కడి మాట యిక్కడ చెప్పేవాడు, తంటాలమారి.

(p. 9) anta anta. [Tel.] n. Whole; adj. So much. adv. (p. 10) antagā antagā.[Tel.] adv. Much, very, urgently, earnestly, అగత్యముగా, అక్కరగా, అంతగా కావలెనంటే యిస్తాను if he wants it much I will give it. ఈ పండ్లు అంతగా లేవు this fruit is not found abundantly.

(p. 14) andu andu. (a defective pronoun.) There, in that place. అక్కడ. అందుకు or అందులక thereof, thereto, for that. అందులో therein. అందున or అందుచేత thereby, by that. అందునిమిత్తము therefore. అందుమీదట adj. thereafter. అటుతర్వాత, వాడు వచ్చి చేరినందుమీదట. after his arrival. అందులకు (an affix) thereto, for that. వ్రాయగలందులకు ad scribendum, to write. అందువల్ల (an affix) thereby. పోయినందువల్ల యేమి ప్రయోజనము what is the use of going? ఆయన రాగలందులకు for his coming. నేను వచ్చేటందుకు అయిదు దినములు పట్టును it will take five days for me to come. అట్లా ఉన్నందుకు for its being so. వాడు అట్లా చేసినందుచేత as he has done so. వాడు అట్లా చేసేటందుచేత by his doing so. అందులకు ఒక ప్రతి వ్రాసినాడు he wrote a copy of it. 'ఇందుగలడందు లేడని సందేహమువలదు' there is no doubt he is every where. ఇందు అందు both here and there; here and hereafter: in this life and the next. అంద in the same place దానియందే; అందలి = అక్కడ ఉండే.

(p. 18) akaṭa , అక్కట akaṭa. [Tel.] interj. Alas! O! what a pity! అయ్యో.

(p. 19) akka akka. [Tel. a Dravidian word borrowed by Sanskrit, where it is used in the sense of mother. cf. Lat. acca] n. An elder sister. అక్కచెల్లెళ్లు elder and younger sisters. పెద్దక్క the eldest sister. Any woman older than oneself is usually styled అక్క elder sister, or అమ్మ mother, madam: and any man older than onself is usually styled అస్న elder brother, or, అయ్య father, sir. పంటలక్క a cook or kitchen maid. (p. 19) akkaṭikamu akkaṭikamu. [Tel.] n. Favour, mercy, pity, కారణ్యము, దయ, కనికరము. 'ఉల్లమునందు నక్కటిక మానుట మీకులమందుఁగంటిమం చల్లనమేలమాడునచలాత్మజమాటకు Manu. i. 2.

(p. 19) akkaḍa akkaḍa. [Tel. from అ+కడ = that place.] adv. There. ఆ స్థలమందు. అక్కడి of that place. అక్కడక్కడ here and there. అక్కడికిన్నీ సమ్మతించనందున as he would not even yet consent.

Necessity, occasion, want, need, desire, అగత్యము. అక్కరతీర్చు to relieve from want. అది నాకక్కరలేదు I do not want it. దీనితో నీకేమి అక్కర what have you to do with this? నీవక్కడికి రావలసిన అక్కరయేమి what business had you to come there? అక్కరకొద్దీ మాట్లాడుట to speak as necessity demands. అది అక్కరకురాదు it will be of no use. వాడికి ఆ పని అక్కరపట్టలేదు he does not care for it. అక్కరకాడు one who is in need. అక్కరగలవాడు; అక్కరగండడు one who has an interest in an affair. శ్రద్ధగలవాడు; అక్కరపడు, అక్కరగొను to feel an interest in a thing. అక్కరకలిగియుండు, అక్కరపాటు a state of necessity. అక్కరపడుట.
