(p. 33) aḍaṅgu adangu. [Tel.] n. Home. The original or starting place. ఉత్పత్తిస్థానము. అడంగు వెల cost price, prime cost. పట్టిన వెల, అసలు కరీదు, అయిన వెల.

(p. 34) aḍagu or అడంగు aḍagu. [Tel.] v. n. To sink, be depressed, humbled, abated. To be concealed. అణగు, నశించు, మట్టుపడు, దాగు. 'క్షీతిహలకృష్టిబుట్టి యడగెన్ క్షితియందు నెసీత.' A. iv. 30. 'పొరువుదరువుల నీడల నడంగి.' Swa. iii. 45.

(p. 491) ḍ ḍa. The letter D, sounded as a palatal. D sometimes changes into ణ Na, thus: అడగు, అణగు; పడతి, పణతి. In a few words the hard and soft D are used as pleasure: as దాగు or డాగు. Vide Appa C. bk. ii. rule 168. In the colloquial dialect ండ may become ంణ, thus: దండము and అడంగులు are written దంణము or దణ్నము and ఆణంగులు.

IV. iii.31. A female guard in a harem. అంతపురపుకావలికత్తె. సైరంధ్రీత్వము sairandhrītvamu. n. The state of being a servant maid in another house. పరగృహమందు అడంగులకు శృంగారించేదిగానుండడము.
