A horse. గుర్రము. అశ్వగతి the pace of a horse. అశ్వదూత a messenger who rides on horseback. అశ్వపాది horsefooted. అశ్వమేథము the sacrifice of a horse, performed anciently by Hindu rajahs. అశ్వరథము a carriage drawn by horses. గుర్రపు బండి, గుర్రాలబండి. అశ్వవైద్యుడు a veterinary surgeon. అశ్వశాల a stable. అశ్వశాస్త్రము veterinary science. అశ్వశిక్ష the training of horses. అశ్వశిక్షకుడు a rough-rider, a horse-breaker. అశ్వారూఢుడు or అశ్వారోహుడు one who is mounted on horseback. రవుతు.

(p. 724) palamu palamu. [Skt.] n. A weight, equal to that of ten pagodas. నాలుగుకర్షములయెత్తు. One-fortieth part of a viss. పలమెడుచల్లితే తూమెడు పండేపాటిభూమి a land which will produce a bushel for a half handful of seed corn. పలము or పలలము palamu. n. Flesh, meat, మాంసము. 'పలలతోరణము.' (A. vi. 19.) a string of dried mutton chops. పలవైతృకము pala-paitrikamu. n. A rite at a funeral (now obsolete) of making flesh offerings. A verse says. అశ్వాలంభం గవాలంభం సన్యాసం, పలవైతృకం, దేవరేణ సుతోత్పత్తిః కలౌ పంచవిసర్జయేత్.

The dung of horses, asses, elephants, or camels. అశ్వాదులపేడ. లద్దిఆకు trash, the remaining substance of leaves boiled for dye, &c. లద్దిపురుగు laddi-purugu. n. A dung-beetle. The fly that destroys corn, a grub in wood. క్రిమివిశేషము. లద్దెపిప్పి or లద్దిపిప్పి ladde-pippi. n. The blight or murrain that destroys corn. ఒకవిధమైన చీడ. లద్దె or లద్దియ laddc. n. The end of a cloth. వేయువాడు బట్టచివరను విడిచెడు అంచు.
