(p. 751) piṇḍamu pinḍamu. [Skt.] n. A lump of rice, అన్నపుముద్ద, A ball. చెండు. A body, form, living frame. ఆకారము, శరీరము. The fœtus or embryo, గర్భస్థశిశువు. The oblations that are made to deceased ancestors. పితృదేవతలకిచ్చు అన్నపుముద్ద. ఈ గండము గడిచి పిండము బయటపడితే చూతము when the fray is over we shall see what happens. నాడు ఉత్పాతపిండము he is a perfect hero. నాకు పిండానికి లేక చస్తున్నాను I am dying for a bit of bread. పిండముపెట్టు to offer balls of rice to the manes of ancestors. Vēma. iii. 192. పిండలి or పిండలివండ pinḍali. (from పిండము.) n. A lump or mass. ముద్ద, గడ్డ. పిండలి పండు or పిండిలిపండు mud and slush. గడ్డలను నీళ్లును, గడ్డలుకట్టినబురద. 'తురగభురోగ్ధూత ధూళితో బెరసిన, వననిధిపిండలి పండుగాగ.' M. IV. iii. 150. పిండాకూడు or పిండాకుడు pinḍā-kūḍu. n. A contemptuous word for food.

(p. 908) bommaramu bommaramu. [Tel.] n. A spinning top. బొంగరము. బొమ్మరములు bommaramulu. n. plu. A game played by children. 'చీకటిమోదిళ్లు చిమ్మబిల్లలనెట్టుబొట్టన గోలలుబొమ్మరాలు కుప్పిగంతులువిరిగుద్దులాటలు.' Vish. vii. 211. గొడుగుబొమ్మరము a spinning top shaped like an inverted umbrella, తలకిందుగాతిప్పిన గొడుగు ఆకారము గానుండే బొంగరము. బొమ్మరపోవు bommara-pōru. v. n. To turn giddy, భ్రమించు.

(p. 938) makaramu makaramu. [Skt.] n. An alligator. మొసలి. The sign of the Zodiac called Capricorn, రాశిభేదము. మకరసంక్రమణము or మకరసంక్రాంతి the passing of the sun into Capricon. This is observed as the Pongul feast. పొంగలిపండుగ. మకరకంఠి makara-kanṭhi. n. A necklace shaped like an alligator. మొసలిమూతులుగల కంఠాభరణము. మకరకుండలము makara-kunḍalamu. n. An earring bearing the figure of a crocodile's head. మొసలిముఖము గల కర్ణభూషణము. మకరతోరణము makara-tōranamu. n. A festoon of cloth shaped like a crocodile, మొసలి మొదలైన రూపములను చిత్రవిచిత్రముగా కుట్టి వీధులలో కట్టే తోరణము. మకరాంకుడు, మకరకేతనుడు or మకరధ్వజుడు makarān-kuḍu. n. An epithet of Manmadha, whose banner is an alligator. మన్మథుడు. మకరాలయము ma-kar-ālayamu. n. The sea. సముద్రము. మకరి makari. n. A crocodile, or alligator. మొసలి. మకరిక or మకరికాపత్రము maka-rika. n. Figures of crocodiles drawn in gold dust on the cheeks or breasts of women, చెక్కిళ్లమీదను రొమ్ములమీదను వ్రాసే మొసలిఆకారము. 'మకరీమయరేఖ లురస్థలంబునన్ భావజచిహ్న ముద్రలయిభాసిల.' Vij. Vil. xi. 97. మకరివల makari-vala. n. A snare to catch crocodiles.

(p. 1083) rūpakamu rūpakamu. [Skt.] n. An allegory, a parable. A metaphor. Also, same as రూపము, రూపము rūpamu. Figure, form, shape, appearance, semblance, ఆకారము. Nature, స్వభావము. Beauty, సౌందర్యము. నిజరూపము, ఉన్నరూపము or కలరూపము the real form the fact, the very truth, reality. అర్థరూపము and పూర్ణరూపము are terms in statuary for the profile and front figure. మారురూపము metamorphosis, another shape, a disguise. రూపకముగా or రూపముగా rūpakamu-gā. adv.
