(p. 37) aḍḍagiñcu aḍḍaginṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To stop, hinder, obstruct. ఆటంకము చేయు. అడ్డగింత. n. Obstacle.

(p. 38) aḍḍamu aḍḍamu. [Tel.] n. Obstacle, hindrance, A screen. అభ్యంతరము, ఆటంకము, చటు. A pledge తాకట్టు నీ మాటకు అడ్డము లేదు no one will resist you. వాండ్లకు మాకు గోడ అడ్డముగా ఉండినది there was a wall between them and us. ఒక నగను అడ్డము పెట్టి యిరువైరూపాయలు తెచ్చినాడు he pawned a jewel and got twenty rupees. నా పనికి అడ్డము వచ్చినాడు he opposed my endeavours. మొగుణ్ని అడ్డముపెట్టుకొని తానే అన్ని పనులు చూచుకొనిపోయినది she used her husband as a screen and carried on the business. వాడు తండ్రికి అడ్డమాడుతాడు he opposes or contradicts his father. తిరుపతికి పోయేలోగా మూడేళ్లు అడ్డమువస్తవి there are three rivers to cross on the way to Tirupati. ఏదో ఒకటి వచ్చి అడ్డముపడినది something has got in the way. వానికి అడ్డము తగిలినారు they interrupted him. కొంతదూరము దోవనే పోయి అవతల అడ్డము తిరిగినాడు or అడ్డము తొక్కినాడు he went along some way and then cut across. 'కరాగ్రములు దృష్టులకడ్డమిడుచు.' BD. iv. 1532. అడ్డముగా aḍḍamu-gā. [Tel.] adv. Crosswise, across, transversely. చెట్టు కండ్లకు అడ్డముగానున్నది the tree intercepts the view, నేను అడ్డముగా నిలిస్తిని I stood in his way.

(p. 38) aḍḍi aḍḍi. [Tel.] n. Delay, hindrance, obstacle, ఆటంకము. అడ్డివడు to come in the way. అడ్డినేరము the crime of unlawful. interference.

(p. 52) anivāritamu a-nivāritamu. [Skt.] adj. Unchecked, unforbidden, unimpeded. అడ్డము లేని, ఆటంకములేని, అనివార్యము a-nivāryamu. [Skt.] adj. Unavoidable. అపరిహార్యమైన, పోగొట్టకూడని.

(p. 106) āndhyamu āndhyamu. [Skt.] n. Blindness. Opposition, obstruction, hindrance. గుడ్డితనము, అడ్డి, ఆటంకము.

(p. 112) ātaṅkamu ātankamu. [Skt.] n. Obstacle, pain, fear, apprehension. Disease. ఆటంకము, బాధ, భయము, రోగము.

(p. 387) goḍava goḍava. [Tel.] n. Difficulty. ఆటంకము, అడ్డి. Puzzle, confusion కలత. Trouble, danger ఆపద. Fault తప్పు. Sorrow దఃఖము.

(p. 629) naṭṭu naṭṭu. [Tel.] n. A spot of ground. A place, abode. స్థానము, వాసస్థానము, Delay, ఆలస్యము. An obstacle, or hindrance; hesitation. ఆటంకము. Loss, damage. A platform of earth, a terrace. A tape worm. The bent grass that infest corn-fields. సస్యరోగవిశేషము. One species of this called కుందురునట్టు is found in the రేగడ or black soil, another గరకనట్టు in the mudub or mixed soil. The largest species is called పడవనట్టు; the smaller గంపనట్టు. నట్టుకొట్టు naṭṭu-koṭṭu. v. n. To delay. ఆలస్యముచేయు. నట్లుపడు naṭṭlu-paḍu. v. n. To hesitate. తడబడు, అడ్డిపడు. నట్టుకొను naṭṭu-konu. n. To fix (itself) firmly, to be fixed. కుదురుకొను, నెలకొను.

(p. 659) nirdhāramu or నిర్ధారణ nir-dhāramu [Skt.] n. Certainty; ascertainment, determination; a resolution. నిశ్చయము. నిర్ధారణ చేయు or నిర్ధరించు nir-dhrāraṇa-chēyu. v. a. To determine, or resolve. కాశీ. v. నిర్ధారణీయము or నిర్ధార్యము nir-dhāraṇīyamu. adj. Fit to be determined or settled. నిర్ధారణచేయదగిన. నిర్ధారితము nir-dhāritamu. adj. Settled or determined. నిర్ధారణచేయబడిన. నిర్ధార్యుడు nir-dhāryuḍu. n. A man of determination, one who fights his way in spite of difficulties. దుఃఖములు మొదలైన ఆటంకములు కలిగినను వెనుకతీయక పూనుకొనినపనిని విడువక చేయువాడు.

(p. 1283) saṃrōdhamu sam-rōdhamu. [Skt.] n. An impediment, hindrance. ఆటంకము, అభ్యంతరము. సంరోధి sam-rōdhi. n. That which causes an impediment. విఘ్నము చేయునది. సంరోధించు sam-rōdhinṭsu. v. a. To hinder, impede, prevent. అడ్డగించు, ఆటంకపరుచు.

(p. 1288) sajāvu sajāvu. [H.] adj. Straight, honest. Clear, plain. తిన్నని, స్పష్టమైన, ఆటంకములేని.
