(p. 205) oṇṭu onṭu. [Tel.] n. A share, division. A village community గ్రామసమూహము. A unit in numeration. సారెని ఒంటు the place or square in which a counter stands in a game at draughts. ఒంటు or ఒంటుబావిలి. n. A sort of ear-ring worn by by men. పురుషులకర్ణభూషణము. ఒంటు v. i. To agree with one's health, to be wholesome or salubrious. ఇముడు, అనుకూలించు. To touch, to go near, to approach చేరు. ఆ దేశానికిన్ని ఈ దేశమునకున్ను ఒంటక ఆశక్తముగానున్నది or అక్కడి నీళ్లకును ఇక్కడి నీళ్లకును. ఒంటనందున వానికి ఒళ్లు కుదురులేదు his health suffered from change of water, (change of air.) (p. 447) cāliñcu ṭsālinṭsu. [Tel. from చాలు.] v. a. To cease, to leave off, to quit, to desist. నిలుపుదలచేయు. వాడు దేహము చాలించెను he died. (lit. left the body.) వెదచాలించినాను I abstained from sowing corn. చాలించుకొను to resign, to desist from, to give up (as an employment) చాలిక ṭsālika. n. Ability సామర్ధ్యము. చాలిమి inability ఆశక్తి.

(p. 665) nis nis. [Skt. a form of నిర్.] A negative prefix like un or in. నిస్త్రాణ nis-trāṇa. n. Weakness. నిస్పృహము nis-pṛihamu. adj. Hopeless. అశలేని. నిస్పృహత్వము nis-pṛihatvamu. n. The being without any wish or hope. Indifference, listlessness. Philosophy. నిస్పృహుడు nis-prihuḍu. n. A philosopher, a calm observer, a man of an equable mind unaffected by ordinary events. adj. Indifferent or listless. నిస్సంగుడు nis-sajuḍu. n. One who has quitted his family. A recluse, hermit. నిస్సంతు nis-santu. adj. Without children or offspring, without an heir. సంతానములేని. అతని వంశము నిస్సంతు అయిపోయినది his family is without a representative, is extinct. నిస్సందేహము or నిస్సంశయము nis-san-dēhamu. adj. Undoubted. n. The absence of doubt. నిస్సత్తువ nis-sattuva. n. Weakness, a want of nerve, debility. Poorness of soil. ఆశక్తి. బలహీనత. నిస్తంత్రము nis-tantramu. adj. Easy, deliberate. నిస్తండ్రము nis-tandramu. adj. Unwearied, in-defatigable. నిస్తరించు nis-tarinṭsu. v. a. To cross safely. చక్కగా దాటు. To succeed, get through, be delivered. కడతేరు. విస్తరణము or విస్తారము nis-taraṇamu. n. Crossing. దాటుట. నిస్తారకుడు nis-tāra-kuḍu. n. A deliverer, redeemer. కడతేర్చువాడు. నిస్సరణము nis-saraṇamu. n. An entrance. ఇల్లులోనగువాని ముందటి భాగము. Exit, going out. వెడలిపోవుట. నిస్సారము nis-sāramu. Sapless, pithless, dry, exhausted. సారములేని, నిస్సారముచేయు to exhaust. ఈ నిస్సారపు సంసారము in this worthless world.

(p. 795) pēda pēda. [Tel.] adj. Poor, indigent, బీద. Timid, పిరికి. Slender, lean, thin, as the waist. కూటికి పేదయైతే కులానికి పేదా if a man happens to be poor, is he to be regarded as contemptible by his felow castemen? పేదసాదలు the poor and wretched. నిరుపేదనడుము a slender waist. చెవిపేదలు those that turn a deaf ear to complaints, మొరలాలకించనివారు. 'ఆవశ్యంబు రాజులు చెవిపేదలని పలికి.' P. i. 534. పేద or పేదవాడు Pēda. n. A poor person. A powerless or weak man, ఆశక్తుడు. A man of low station in life, అనుద్ధతుడు. పేదలు the poor. పేదరాలు pēda-r-ālu. n. An indigent woman. పేదరికము pēdarikamu. n. Pauperism, poverty. దారిద్య్రము. పేదరిమి or పేదర్మి pēdarimi n. Poverty, Timidity,పిరికితనము. నడుముపేదరిమి slenderness of the waist. 'తే అర్జున యీ పెద్ద తనముమాని, దండివైలెమ్ము మనసు పేదరిమివిడిచి.' M. VI. i. 240. పేదవడు pēda-vaḍu. v. n. To be reduced to poverty, to become poor, దారిద్య్రమును పొందు. To be humbled or humiliated, దైన్యమునుపొందు.

(p. 1018) mūlugu or మూల్గు mūlugu. [Tel.] v. n. To groan, to moan, to make a noise or sound. రోగి ఆశక్తతవల్ల ముక్కులగుండా చప్పుడు చేయుట. విత్తము వెక్కసముగా మూలుగుచున్నది the money is lying idle.
