(p. 9) aṇḍa anḍa [Tel.] n. Nearness; assistance, protection, patronage. ఆసరా, ఆశ్రయము. అండగోడ a buttress, a sloping wall, built to support another. ఆయన అండ చేరి ఉన్నాను I am under his protection. ఆయనను అండచేసికొనియున్నాను I look upon him as my supporter, I hold to him.

(p. 95) avalambiñcu avalambinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To take hold of any thing; depend on any person or thing. చేపట్టు, ఆశ్రయించు, ఆ మతమును అవలంబించినవారు Converts, those who embraced that creed. ధైర్యము నవలంబంచి picking up courage. ఆయనమాట నవలంబించినారు they embraced his opinion, or sided with him. అవలంబము or అవలంబనము avalambamu n. Taking hold of anything, hanging on or from. Adoption, or profession of certain views. గతి, ఆశ్రయము, మతావలంబనము the adoption of a religion. అవలంబితము adj. That which is adopted, as one's own.

(p. 128) āśrayamu āṣrayamu. [Skt.] n. Support, asylum. refuge, retreat, place of safety, protection, patronage, countenance. అండ, బలవంతు నాశ్రయించుట ఇల్లు. ఆశ్రయాసుడు āṣray-āṣuḍu. n. The god of fire, because he eats or destroys one's abode. ఆశ్రయించు āṣray-inṭsu. n. To take refuge, to depend upon or have recourse to, to court, to follow. అనుసరించు, అండగొను. ఈ ప్రతిభేదమును ఆశ్రయించినాడు he adopted this reading. ఆశ్రితము āṣritamu. adj. Dependent on. ఆశ్రితుడు āṣrituḍu. n. One who is looked up to for help. ఆశ్రయింపబడినవాడు.

(p. 129) āsarā or ఆస్రా or ఆసాను āsarā. [H. from Skt. ఆశ్రయము] .n. Shelter, support, protection, patronage. ప్రాపు, ఆదరువు, ఆధారము. ఆ ఊరికి నీళ్ల ఆసరాలేదు the village has no resources for watering the lands.

(p. 715) parāyaṇamu parāyaṇamu. [Skt.] n. A prop, support, ప్రాపు. Devotion, addiction to. తత్పరత, ఆశ్రయము. adj. Eager, devoted to, అబీష్టము. పరాయణుడు parāya-ṇuḍu. n. An aspirant to, one devoted to, a candidate. ఆసక్తికలవాడు. జల్పపరాయణుడు one addicted to chattering 'బోగైక పరాయణల్.' M. IV. iii. 33.

(p. 846) prāpiñcu prāpinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To obtain, get, attain to. పొందు. ప్రాపు prāpu. n. A prop. A protection, support, a refuge; patronage; a person on whom one depends, ఆసరా, ఆశ్రయము. ఆయనప్రాపుననున్నాము we are under his protection. ప్రాప్తము praptamu. adj. Obtained, gained, acquired, received, procured, caught, as a disease, పొందబడిన. కుష్ఠు అతనికి ప్రాప్తమైనందున because he caught the leprosy. n. That which is obtained. that which falls to one's lot, luck, fortune. నాప్రాప్తమింతే this is all I can get, such is my luck. ప్రాప్తి prāpti. n. Obtaining, attaining, పొందడము. Gain, profit, లాభము. One of the eight superhuman faculties, the power of obtaining every thing one desires. అష్టైశ్వర్యములలో నొకటి. Luck, fortune. అదృష్టము. వానికి అంతే ప్రాప్తి this is all he can get. దాని ప్రాప్తి అట్లు ఉండినది such was her luck. నీకు అది ప్రాప్తిలేదు you were not fortunate enough to get it. ప్రాప్తించు prāptinṭsu. v. n. To happen or occur; to be gained, obtained, found. కలుగు, లభించు. వానికి రోగము ప్రాప్తించినది he contracted or caught a disease. ప్రాప్తుడు prāptuḍu. n. One who has attained. వారు వైకుంఠ ప్రాప్తులరి they went to Vishnu's heaven, i.e., they died. ప్రాప్యము prāpyamu. adj. Attainable, procurable, that may be got. పొందదగిన. ప్రాపకము prāpakamu. n. Protection, patronage, refuge. అవలంబము, అవష్టంభము, ఆసరా, ప్రాపకుడు prāpakuḍu. n. One who puts an object within our power or reach. ఘటకుడు. A patron, protector, guardian.

(p. 1231) vyaktamu vyaktamu. [Skt.] adj. Apparent, clear, manifest, evident, disclosed, revealed, distinct, specified, తెల్లమైన, స్పష్టమైన, ప్రకాశితమైన, తెలియబడిన. వ్యక్తత or వ్యక్తత్వము vyaktata. n. Distinctness, manifestation. స్పష్టత. వ్యక్తి vyakti. n. An incarnation, జాతికివేరై జాతికి ఆశ్రయమైన స్వరూపము, పృథక్స్వరూపము. An individual, a person, a man, జనుడు. ఒకడు. Manifestation, స్పష్టము. 'భక్తహితార్థమై ప్రభవించెనీకు, వ్యక్తిగాజెప్పితి వగవకుమింక.' BD. i. 477. వ్యక్తిగా, అనగా స్పష్టముగా. 'భక్తునకును దోడు పరిచారునిచ్చి, వ్యక్తిసందర్శనాసక్తినేతెంచి.' ib. v. 444. వ్యక్తుడు vyaktuḍu. n. A man of the world, a man of understanding. తెలిసివాడు, తెలివిగలాడు. వ్యక్తురాలు vyaktu-r-ālu n. A clever woman, a woman of understanding. తెలివిగలది.

(p. 1244) śaraṇamu ṣaraṇamu. [Skt.] n. A refuge, shelter, asylum, defence, protection, protector. రక్షకము, రక్ఠణము, రక్షకుడు, ఆశ్రయము. A house, గృహము. 'గంజాశరణము.' a liquor shop, కల్లంగడి. P. i. 405. 'ఆమహీసురశరణమునకు కామందకియనగనొక్క గానుగలదిసుతుల్ నేమించిబంపగంపంగోమల గతినువ్వులమ్ముకొననేతెంచెన్' P. ii. 115. ప్రయోగశరణాం వైయాకరణాః grammarians resort to or rely upon usage. శరణాగతుడు ṣaran-āgatudu. n. A refugee, one who seeks or takes refuge or shelter with another, one who calls for quarter. శరణుచొచ్చినవాడు. ఆశ్రయించినవాడు. శరణాగతులైరి they threw themselves at his feet, they sought refuge with him. శరనార్థి ṣaraṇ-ārthi. n. A suppliant. petitioner. 'శరణార్థినను గానగాదగు.' Swa. vi. 113. శరణు ṣaraṇu. (another form of శరణము.) n. A refuge, asylum shelter, defence, protection. రక్షణము, ఆశ్రయము. A bow, salutation, prostration, obeisance. నమస్కారము. 'భయార్తులై శరణు జొచ్చివారిని రక్షించుటకంటె' Vish. v. 244. 'విధిగృహాక్షయవిత్తశేవధికిశరణు.' A. vi. 147. శరణుచొచ్చు ṣaraṇu-tsoṭsṭsu. v. n. To take refuge with. శరణుడు ṣaraṇuḍu. n. A preserver, a protector, రక్షకుడు, పోషించువాడు. 'సకలంబుదానైన శరణునకరుగ నొకచచోటు నిలువంగ నొకచోటుకలదె.' L. ii. 262. శరణ్యము or శరణీయము ṣaraṇyamu. adj. Fit to be protected or aided. రక్షింపదగిన. Fit to seek refuge under, శరణుచొరదగిన. n. A protection, defence, shelter, రక్షకము. శరణ్యుడు ṣarṇyuḍu. n.
