This much, so large as this. ఇంతమట్టుకు thus far; as yet. ఇంతకు and beside all this. ఇంతలో meanwhile. ఇంతకుమున్ను, ఇంతకుపూర్వము heretofore. ఇక యింత this much more. ఇంతదాక all this while, thus far. ఇంత చెడ్డ so bad. ఇంతపొడుగు so long. ఇంతలు కన్నులు eyes so large. ఇంతలేసి పనులు such great works. నాలుగింతలు four times as much. ఇంతా అంతా కాదు it is vastly great, lit. it is not so much nor so much. వాడు పడ్డ ప్రయాసము ఇంతంతకాదు the trouble he is in is beyond telling. ఇంతంత దొంగకాడు he is no common rogue. ఇంతట intaṭa. adv. With this. ఇంతటిలో within this time. ఇంతటి such. ఇంతవట్టు inta-vaṭṭu. (p. 178) ṛṇamu ṛiṇamu. [Skt.] n. Debt, obligation. A claim, a title or lien. ఇంతకున్ను ఇక్కడి నీళ్ల ఋణము ఎన్ని రోజులు ప్రాప్తి ఉన్నదో besides I know not how much longer it is my fate to dwell here. ఋణపడు ṛiṇa-paḍu. v. n. To get into debt. ఋణముచేయు ṛiṇamu-chēyu. v. a. To contract a debt, to borrow. ఋణముతీర్చు ṛiṇamu-tīrṭsu. To discharge a debt. ఋణత్రయము the three kinds of obligation, viz., దేవఋణము, ఋషిఋణము and పితృఋణము. ఋణవిముక్తుడు ṛiṇa-vimuktuḍu. n. One who is free from debt. ఋణస్థుడు. or ఋణి or ఋణికుడు ṛiṇasthuḍu. n. A debtor. ఋణార్ణము ṛiṇārṇamu. n. A debt contracted to pay off another debt. అప్పు తీర్చుటకై చేసిన అప్పు.

(p. 202) ēsi ēṣi. [Tel.] An affix. At the rate of, at. పదేసి at the rate of ten. ఇంతలేసి కన్నులు eyes so large. Also, for వేసి (the initial V being dropt); thus, పెల్లేసి for పెల్లలువేసి. ఏహ్యము ēhyamu. [Skt.] adj. Abominable.

(p. 218) ōpu ōpu. [Tel.] v. t. To bear, endure, tolerate. ఓర్చు. చూపోపక A. v. 78. unable to stand before his face. ఇంతకష్టమోపలేను I cannot bear this trouble. ఓప రాని. ōpa-rāni. adj. Intolerable సహింపగూడని. ఓపలేని ōpa-lēni. adj. Impatient. ఓర్పులేని; helpless,దిక్కులేని. ఓపలేనివారికి వద్దన్నవారే తల్లిదండ్రులు those who check the impatient are their best friends. ఓపు ōpu. v. n. To be fit, to suit; to be worthy: to be able: to be possible or practicable. చాలు, తగియుండు, పోనోప్పనా can he go? పోనోపడు he cannot go. ఈనోపని unable to give.

(p. 270) kāni or గాని kāni. [Tel.] (conj. denoting an alternative.) But, either, or, except, unless. And not, nor, Rather, Before. జాజియొక్కటియెకాని సకలకుసమ విసరసంపదచేనొప్పె వసుధయెల్ల , విరహణియెకానిధరణిపై వివిధజనులు సంతసములొందజేసె వసంతవేళ.' Sunandā Parinyam, iv. 22. 'ఆలలు మగనిమాట కడ్డంబు వచ్చెనా ఆలలుకాదది వానివ్రాలుకాని.' (Vēma.) ఇంతేకాని నేనేమెరుగను I know nothing but this. ఇదియేమోకాని I cannot tell what this may be. అదిగాని యిదిగాని either that or this. ఆపని పది దినములకుగాని కాదు that work cannot be finished in less than ten days. రేపుగాని రాడు he will not come here before to-morrow. ఉద్యోగము చిక్కుననే అపేక్ష ఉంటేగాని నేను అక్కడ ఉండను I would not have remained there had I not hoped to gain employment. ఇది అతని చేతగాని మరి యొకనిచేతకాదు he alone can do it, no one else can. ఎల్లవిధముల నిను వధియించిగాని పురికి నురుగముగావున for we will not return without slaying thee. అతడు వస్తేనేగాని యీపని కానేరదు unless he comes we cannot effect this. కాని or కానీ (for కానిమ్ము) imp. verb denoting assent. Let it be done. Be it so. Never mind. Very well. ఆ పని ముందరకానీ let that be done first. కానీ కానీ నీ కావరమణతు very well, I will crush your pride.

(p. 274) kāyu kāyu. [Tel.] v. n. To shine as the sun or moon. ఇప్పుడు ఎండ కాస్తున్నది there is sunshine now. వెన్నెలకాస్తున్నది there is moonlight. కాయు (another form of కాచు.) v. a. To tend cattle. To spare or acquit. నేను ఇంతపని చేసి ఉంటే నన్ను కాయవద్దు if I have done this, spare me not.

(p. 515) tala tala [Tel.] n. The head. శిరస్సు. The hair on the head. తలవెండ్రుకలు. The top కొన. The front ముందుభాగము. Height ఎత్తు. Whole మొత్తము. An occasion, a time సమయము, ఎడ. Telugu books were usually written on palm-leaves connected by a cord running through: and to tear out a leaf or rescind a bond, the top is torn. Fat-headed, proud, silly. ఇంతపనిచేస్తే వారిలో ఎట్లు తలయెత్తవచ్చును if he did this how could he shew his face among them? తలతో చెల్లించెను he paid for it with his head, it cost him his life. తలకుఎక్కేపని a perilous undertaking. తలకు ఎక్కినది it got into his head, he is intoxicated. తలకొట్టివేయు to decapitate or behead. తల (for తలను) మోయు to carry on the head. శిరసావహించు. BD. v. 309. ఒకతల on the one hand. తలకట్టు tala-kaṭṭu. n. The crest, tire, top, head-dress. పోగా. Chief ముఖ్యము. The head or leader. (p. 605) dūramu dūramu. [Skt.] n. Distance. (Metaphorically) Distance in point of time. ఇంతదూరము all this while. దూరముగా చూడు look before you, consider well. adj. Distant, far. దూరదేశము a distant land. దూరపుదాయాది a distant heir. ఇది వ్యాజదూరమైయున్నది it is beyond a doubt. దూరముగా dūramu-gā. adv. Afar.దూరగుడు dūraguḍu. n. One who is far from (anything) బుద్ధిదూరగుడు he who is far from wisdom. దూరదర్శి dūra-darṣi. n. A sage, one who has foresight. దూరపు యోచనకలవాడు. దూరదృక్కు dūra-dṛikku. n. Farsightedness. దూరభారము dūra-bhāramu. n. A great distance. దూరుడు dūruḍu. n. He who is far from. దుష్టప్రవర్తనదూరుడై being far above such wickedness.

(p. 708) pani pani. [Tel.] n. Work, a task. కర్మము. Business, employment, వ్యాపారము. Workmenship, శిల్పము. ఈ కట్టడమునందు మంచిపని చేసియున్నారు there is good workmanship in this building. An affair, act, matter. Service, utility, purpose, object, intention, design. ప్రయోజనము. An order, duty, నియోగము. పనిమీద ఉన్నాడు he is busy. మంచిపని very well, well, good. మంచిపనిచేసినావు you did well or right. అతని పనిచూస్తున్నాను I am engaged in his service: I am acting for him. అతనిపని తీర్చినారు they settled his business, or they killed him. ఇక్కడ నీకేమిపని what business have you here? This word is sometimes omitted in translating; as in నీపనిపట్టిస్తాను I will punish you. ఇంతపనికి నన్నేల వెంటబెట్టుకొనివచ్చినావు why have you brought me for such a trifle or pretence? పనికిమాలి (or) పనిచెడి కూర్చున్నాడు he is sitting idle. వారు వ్యాధిచేత పనిచెడిరి they became infirm through illness. వానితో విరోధము పనికిరాదు he will not stand quarrelling. దాన్ని సంపాదించడము ఎంతపని it is no great matter to get it. నాపని చెరిపినారు they spoiled my work. పనిచెరువుకథలు idle stories. పనికి వచ్చే useful. పనికివచ్చే పిల్లకాయ a promising boy. పనికిరాని or పనికిమాలి useless. అక్కడికి నీవు ఏపనిమీద పోయినావు useless. అక్కడికి నీవు ఏపనిమీద పోయినావు about what business did you go there? నీపనిని నీవు చూచుకొనుము mind your own business. అక్కడికి పోవలసినపనిలేదు there is no need of going there. ఇప్పట్లో వానిపని యిట్లు ఉన్నది he is now in this state. అట్లు చెప్ప పని లేదు there is no need of saying so. పనిగొను pani-gonu. v. a. To undertake a work, to engage in a business. పూనుకొను. To employ, నియోగించు. 'పనిగొనవుతెలియగ బరికించి చూచిన.' Vēma. పనితనము pani-ta-namu. n. Workmanship, elegance. పనితనముగల ఒక మంచము a handsome bed. పనితొడవులు pani-toḍarulu. n. Worked or embossed jewels. పనిపడు or పనివడు pani-paḍu. v. n. To busy oneself with. to engage in, పూనుకొను. To concern oneself with, అక్కరపడు. పనివడి or పనిపడి pani-paḍi. adv. Intentionally. కావలెనని, ప్రయత్నపూర్వకముగా. 'పరులను పనిపడి దూషించెనేని పాపము వచ్చున్.' V. P. iv. 249. పనివాటులు jobs, work. పనిముట్టు or పనిమటము pani-muṭṭu. n. An instrument, tool, impelement. కొరముట్టు, ఉపకరణము. 'పనిమటములుగొంచు పయనమైరండు.' Pal. 314. పనివంచు, పని పంచు or పనిగొను pani-vanṭsu. v. a. To command. నియోగించు. పనివాడు pani-vāḍu. n. A servant: a good workman. పనివిను pani-vinu. v. n. To obtain permission, to take leave. To proceed, to go or come. 'దేవర కీర్తి వెక్కసంబుగ జెప్పవిని చూడగోరి, పనివిని నేను మాభాగ్యంబుకతన.' H.D.i. 847.

(p. 764) pu ccu puṭsṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To take. తీయు. To send, to remove. పంపు, పోవజేయు v. n. To decay, mortify, rot. పుచ్చిపోవు puchchi-pōvu. v. n. To be rotten, decayed పుచ్చు puṭsṭsu. adj. Rotten, decayed. 'గురువునకు పుచ్చుకూరైన నియ్యరరయవేశ్యకిత్తురర్థమెల్ల.' Vēma 69. పుచ్చు puṭsṭsu. n. The Sediment of oil. ఆముదపుమడ్డి. Filth. 'పప్పులోనుప్పు మిక్కిలి పారజల్లి, నేతిలో నాముదపుపుచ్చు నిండనించి,' Jagannadha. i. 67. పుచ్చు is used idiomatically with some nouns to give them an active force. ఆ బిడ్డను నిద్రపుచ్చినది she put the child to sleep. నూరు రూపాయలతో ఆ యిల్లు కట్టడమును సరిపుచ్చినాడు he finished the building of the house with a hundred rupees. మోసపుచ్చు to deceive, cheat. చిన్నపుచ్చు to disgrace. ప్రొద్దుపుచ్చు to pass or kill time, కాలక్షేపము చేయు. ఇంతప్రొద్దు పుచ్చినందుకు యేతువేమి what is the reason of your making so much delay? 'చాకివాడుకోక చీకాకుపడజేసి, మయలబుచ్చి మంచిమడుపుచేయు, బుద్ధిచెప్పువాడు గుద్దిననేమయా.' Vēma. 230. 'పరులమోసపుచ్చి ధరరూకలార్జించి, కడుపునించుకొనుటకానిపద్దు.' Vēma. 258.

(p. 838) praḷayamu pra-ḷayamu. [Skt. ప్ర+లయము.] n. Destruction. The final destruction of the world. కల్పాంతము. Danger, calamity, అపాయము. Death, మృత్యువు. ప్రళయకాలము an awful or protentous period. జలప్రళయము the Deluge. ప్రళయముగా pra-ḷayamu-gā. adv. In a flood, in a deluge. Prodigiously, hugely, grandly. ఇంతటిలో వానప్రళయముగా వచ్చినది the rain came in floods. రాజు ప్రళయముగా బయలుదేరినాడు the king set out very grandly. వానిపని బహుప్రళయముగానున్నది he lives in grand style, his business goes on thrivingly. ప్రళయముగా మాట్లాడుతాడు he talks pompously. ఏరు ప్రళయముగా పారుచున్నది the river is rushing furiously.
