Wood కట్టెలు. వంటచెరుకు kitchen fuel. చెరుకుపందెము a feat of skill and strength in sword play or with an axe, which consists in lopping off a stem of sugar cane at a single blow in any proposed manner. చెరుకువిల్తుడు or చెరుకువిలుకాడు an epithet of Manmadha, as his bow is made of sugar cane. చెరుకుపిచ్చిక cheruku-pichchika. n. The yellow-throated sparrow. Gymnorhis flavicollis, (F.B.I.) చెరుకడము or చెరకడము cheru-kaḍamu. n. Jaggery, బెల్లము.

(p. 745) pāla pāla. [Tel. from పాలు milk.] n. The bird called the Indian Roller, boracias indica (F.B.I.) the flight of which is consulted as an omen. It is erroneously called a blue jay. Various varieties are called గొర్రెపాలపిట్ట and మేకపాలపిట్ట. See Jerdon No. 243. A treatise on Omens says. 'పాలగరుడతప్ప పక్షిజాతులకెల్ల నెడమమండికుడికి నెగయవలయు.' పాల or పాలతీగ n. A certain tree, ఇక్షుగంధ, క్షీరికావృక్షము; of which there are various species as, అడవిపాలతీగ Nerium reticulatum, కాకిపాలతీగ Asclepias asthmatica, దూదిపాలతీగ Asclepias volubilis, మట్టపాలతీగ Convolvulus paniculatus; చిరుపాల, అనగా ఉటని. (p. 1304) samudramu or సముద్రుడు sa-mudramu. [Skt.] n. The sea, ocean. అబ్ధి, పారవారము, మున్నీరు, సాగరము, కడలి. There are 7 seas according to Hindu mythology, viz., లవణసముద్రము the sea of salt, ఇక్షు సముద్రము the sea of sugar, సురాసముద్రము the sea of wine, తర్పిస్సముద్రము the sea of ghee, దధిసముద్రము the sea of curds, క్షీరసముద్రము the sea of milk, and జలసముద్రము the sea of waters, సముద్రనవనీతము. lit. the butter of the ocean, an epithet of the moon, చంద్రుడు, సముద్రపు చిలుక a flamingo, పూకొంగ, సముద్రపచ్చ samudra-paṭsṭsa. n. A plant called Convolvulus speciosus.
