(p. 63) apalapiñcu or అపలాపము చేయు apa-lapinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To deny, conceal. ఉండగా లేదను, ఎరిగియుండగా ఎరుగనను, మరుగుచేయు. అపలాపము apa-lāpamu. [Skt.] n. Denial, concealment of knowledge, evasion. ఉండగా లేదనడము, ఎరిగియుండగా ఎరగననడము.

(p. 95) avaṣṭambhamu ava-shtambhamu. [Skt.] n. Support, stay, a post or pillar. ఆధారము, పట్టు, కంబము. నాకు మంచి అవష్టంభము లేదు I have not defender, I have no patron. తమ అవష్టంభము ఉండగా వానికెమి తక్కువ as long as he has your support what need he care?

(p. 148) uṇḍu uṇḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To be, exist, live. 2. To reside, dwell. 3. To remain, stop, stay. 4. To last, endure, continue. 5. To keep still, stay quiet; 6. To wait. To stand over, remain as a surplus. ఉండిపోవు, శేషించు. 7. To have. నాకు భార్య ఉండగా as I have a wife. 'కనకము ఉన్నవాడు' he who possesses gold. -- 8. To keep a feast. విజయదశమి ఉండినారు they kept the Vijaya Dasami feast. ఉన్న మాట యిది this is the fact. ఉన్నరూపు the true form, the reality. నేను అక్కడ పది దినములుంటిని I remained there ten days, వాడు (ఇంట్లో) ఉన్నాడా is he at home? మీ తండ్రి బాగా ఉన్నాడా is your father well? ఉన్నట్టుండి suddenly, just as they were. ఉన్నారు they are; రేపుదాక ఉంటారా will they remain till to-morrow? అక్కడ ఉన్నారా are they there?

(p. 554) tēru tēru. [Tel.] v. n. To become settled or clear (as water.) తేటపడు. To be rescued, allayed or relieved. To pass off, as a fainting fit. To escape. To recover, as from illness or danger. తేరుకొను, తెప్పిరు. To extend or reach. To shine forth, ప్రసన్నత నొందు. To happen, come to pass, or come forth, కలుగు. To rise, as cream or scum. To be finished or over, to reach the end. ముగియు, కడతేరు, ముగించు, జిగితేరెడుసొమ్ములు glittering jewels. తేరకయుండగా when it was in abeyance. వానికి ఒళ్లు తేరకఉండగా while he was still an invalid. తేరుకొను tēru-konu. v. n. To recover (from illness.) to gain strength or become convalescent. స్వస్థతనొందు. తేరుగడ tēru-gaḍa. n. Finishing, ending. ముగియుట. Recovering consciousness తెలివిడి. తేరుగడలెక్క a settled account. తేర్చు or తేరుచు tērṭsu. v. a. To make clear, clarify. తేరజేయు. To rectify, to correct. To finish. To cause to rejoice, ప్రసన్నతనొందించు. To relieve, console. To kill చంపు. తేరనారు tēra-vāru. v. n. To become clear. To dawn. 'తూర్పు తేరవారగా.' HK. ii. 34. తేరి tēri. adv. To the end, fully, to the full. తేరిచూచు, తేరజూచు, తేరుకొనజూచు or తేరిపారచూచు to look hard, to gaze earnestly, to look steadfastly; to see clearly. తేరి tēri. n. Clarified ghee. కాచితేరిన నెయ్యి.

(p. 809) poddu or ప్రొద్దు poddu. [Tel.] n. The sun. Time, period. బారెడుపొద్దు ఎక్కినప్పుడు when the sun was about two yards high, i.e., about 8 A. M. పొద్దుతిరుగుడు పువ్వు the sun flower or heliotrope. రెండుగడియల పొద్దుఉండగా while two hours of daylight yet remained. శానాపొద్దుపోయినది it is very late. పొద్దున early in the morning. పొద్దుపొడిచెను the sun arose. పొద్దుగూకె (or క్రుంకెను) the sun has set. పొద్దు గూకులు the livelong day, all day long. పొద్దుపుచ్చు to while away time. పొద్దుపోకుండా ఉన్నది the time passes slowly, or it is very dull. పొద్దు సరసముగా గడిపితిమి we passed the time merrily. పొద్దుతిరుగు బాటున at noon. చాలా పొద్దుగలుగలేచినాడు he rose very early. ఒక్క పొద్దు ఉండు to take only one meal a day, to fast for a period. ఇప్పుడు (lit: ఈ+పొద్దు) now. అప్పుడు (ఆ+పొద్దు.) then. ఆపెకు ఇప్పుడు పొద్దులు She is near her time. దేన్ని పొద్దు పోకచేస్తివి surely you did this out of mere idleness!
