(p. 148) uṇḍrāyi uṇḍrāyi. [Tel. ఉండ+రాయి] n. A ball of rice flour boiled in steam. ఉప్పినపిండిని ఉండలుగా చేసి వండినభక్ష్యము. ఉండ్రములు, ఉండ్రాలు, ఉండ్రాళ్లు uṇḍrāḷḷu. n. Cakes offered to the gods and particularly to Ganesa. ఉండ్రాళ్లపండుగ or ఉండ్రాళ్లతద్దె a feast kept by women who pay their vows by such offerings.

(p. 875) bāgu bāgu. [Tel.] n. Good, well being, a good state, or condition; health. క్షేమము, సుఖము. Beauty, charm, attraction. అందము Benefit, use, advantage. Manner, విధము. adj. Good, safe, sound, correct. క్షేమముగల. Beautiful, అందముగల. అట్లాచేస్తే యేమిబాగు what is the use of doing so? మహాబాగు very well, yes. బాగరి bāgari. (బాగు+అరి.) n. A beautiful or handsome woman or man. అందగాడు, అందగత్తె. 'తెల్లనితమ్మియందునెలదేటివలెన్ దగునొక్కబాగరిన్ నల్లనివాని.' R. iii. 44. బాగా or బాగుగా bāgā. adv. Well, properly, duly, satisfactorily, in good health. బాగానే ఉన్నది it is all right or safe. ఈ బట్ట బాగా ఉండలేదు this cloth is not good. వానికి బాగా ఉన్నది he is well. వానితలిదండ్రు లు బాగానే ఉన్నారు his parents are alive and well. వెన్నెల బాగా ఉండెను the moonshine was bright. చిన్నది బాగా ఉన్నది the girl is pretty. బాగుచేయు bāgu-chēyu. v. a. To do good to, to ameliorate. To mend, trim, repair. To cure. To clean. To set right, rectify, make fit, చక్కబరచు. బాగుదార bāgu-dāra. n. A small knife, చిన్నకత్తి. బాగుపడు bagu-padu. v. n. To be benefited, to thrive, to prosper. To recover health. To be reformed. బాగులోకివచ్చు to prosper or thrive. బాగులోకి తెచ్చు to benefit, ameliorate, rectify. బాగులాడి bāgu-lāḍi. n. A beau, అందగత్తె. బాగులు bagulu. n. Gestures, acts. వెర్రిబాగులు foolish gestures. వెర్రిబాగులవాడు or వెర్రిబాగులమారి one who acts as a mad man. 'బాలెవుం బాగులుమాయగన్గొనగపట్టుక వచ్చితిమయ్య.' Satya. iv. 9. బాగాలు (బాగు+ఆలు) the lovely wife. 'గురుని బాగాలు తమతోటగోడ దాటి.' T. iv. 145.

(p. 1182) vibhūti vi-bhūti. [Skt.] n. Blessedness, divine excellence or power. Happiness, సంపద, ఐశ్వర్యము. A divine attribute. అణిమాదులు. అష్టవిభూతులు the eight divine attributes. These are అణిమ invisibility, లఘిమ buoyancy, ప్రాప్తి omnipresence, ప్రాకామ్యము amplitude, మహిమ gravity, or vastness, ఈశత supremacy, dominion, వశిత్వము omnipotence, and కామావశయిత miraculous creation, &c, at pleasure. White ashes of cowdung, with which the worshippers of Siva smear themselves, తెల్లనిబూడిద. Hence సొమ్ము విభూతిపాలయినది the money is all gone to ruin: lit, to ashes. విభూతిపండ్లు vibhūti-panḍlu. n. Balls of white ashes, తెల్లనిబూడిదఉండలు.

(p. 1261) śrāddhamu ṣrāddhamu. [Skt. from శ్రద్ధ.] n. Funeral ceremonies or obsequies, observed at various fixed periods, consisting of offerings with water and fire, to the gods and manes, and gifts and food to the relations present, and assistant Brahmins. పితృకర్మము, పిత్రర్థముగా దేశకాలవిధికృత బ్రాహ్మణ భోజనము. ఏకోద్దిష్ట శ్రాద్ధము a funeral ceremony observed eleven days after a persons's death. నిత్యశ్రాద్ధము daily funeral ceremonies for a year after a person's death. ధర్మశ్రాద్ధము the funeral ceremony observed every new moon. మహాలయశ్రాద్ధము a funeral ceremony in the sixth lunar month. సపిండశ్రాద్ధము or సపిండీకరణము a funeral ceremony in which the balls of rice offered to the deceased individually and collectively, are blended together. తిర్థశ్రాద్ధము a funeral ceremony celebrated in a holy place. నాందీశ్రాద్ధము an offering made to the manes of deceased ancestors on solemn occasions. హిరణ్యశ్రాద్ధము money distributed in charity as an offering to the manes. ఆమశ్రాద్ధము uncooked ingredients distributed as above said. అన్నశ్రాద్ధము cooked food served out to guests as aforesaid. ఘటశ్రాద్ధము obsequies performed to a waterjar, which bears the name of a man's living wife, whom he divorces by breaking the jar. వానికి కొంచెము హిరణ్య శ్రాద్ధముచేస్తేనే గాని ఆ పని అనుకూలపడేటట్టు ఉండలేదు unless you grease his palm, I think that business will not be settled in our favour. శ్రాద్ధదేవుడు ṣrāddha-dēvuḍu. n. Yama, the god of death. యముడు.

(p. 1339) suḍi suḍi. [Tel.] n. A whirl. ఆవర్తము. A whirlpool. A circlet. A curl or twist in the hair, particularly in the hair of horses. A fold of a leaf. The secondary form [ ృ ] of the letter ఋ. 'సుడియనంగ వట్రువయనబుకారమైవెలయు.' ABA. ii. 351. ఆ గుర్రానికి సుళ్లు బాగా ఉండలేదు the horse has not good 'marks' or curls in its hair. 'అనువగుసుళ్లనొప్పుమలయానిలవాహము నెక్కి.' స్వా. vi. (Verb. plu.) Look! behold! సుడిసమీసుండి, సుసుమ్మియనంగను నిశ్చయార్థకముగా నెగడుచుండు.' ABA. iii. 109. సుడిగట్టు suḍi-gaṭṭu. n. A hill called చక్రవాళము. సుడిగాలి a whirlwind. సుడిగొట్టు suḍi-goṭṭu. n. Wind, గాలి. సుడిగొను suḍi-gonu. v. a. To environ, surround, encompass. చుట్టుకొను. 'బొమముడి సుడిగొనబిడికిటబొడిచి.' R. v. 196. సుడిగోరు suḍi-gōru. n. A ring-like protection for the finger nail used when playing on the lute. సుడిచందువాచేప suḍi-ṭsanduvā-chēpa. n. A certain fish, like a small pomfret but with the tail and fins different, a species of stromateus. సుడిపోవు suḍi-pōvu. v. n. To become useless, వ్యర్థమగు. సుడియ suḍiya. n. Half a bundle of betel leaf. తమలపాకుల మాటలోసగము. A rascal, villain, తులువ. 'చూచియల్లననవ్విసుడియలుమీరు.' Pal. సుడియడిదము, సుడికయిదువు or సుడివాలు suḍi-y-aḍidamu. n. The short circular missile weapon or discus of Vishnu. చక్రాయధము, సుదర్శనము. సుడియు suḍiyu. v. n. To blow like a whirlwind, చుట్టిచుట్టివీచు. To surround, చుట్టుకొను. To appear, పొడచూపు, అగుపడు. To wander, సంచరించు. 'సుధజిందుమోవిపై సుడియుతేనియపల్కు క్షీరోదకన్యాయ సారమెవయ.' UH. i. 52. 'కడుబెట్టిదపుగాలి సుడిసిన నెరదప్ప దిరిగిన మవ్వంపుదీగెమాడ్కి.' TUR. vi. 78. సుడివడు or సుడిబడు suḍi-vaḍu. v. n. To twist or get entangled, to turn. To hesitate, be puzzled, confused, entangled or ensnared, చీకాకుపడు, కలవరపడు. చలించు, తిరుగు, మెలిపడు. To swoon or faint, సొమ్మసిల్లు, మూర్ఛిల్లు. 'ఈ దివడిసడలి సుడివడుచు నెడలోము సోమరిగాలి.' Swa. iii. 38. 'నీదుసైన్యముల్ సుడివడ భీష్ముదాకుటయు జూచి.' M. VI. ii. 294. Plu. సుళ్లు. సుళ్లుమారి suḷḷa-māri. n. One who has bad marks, చెడ్లసుడులుగలవాడు; one who whirls about or gives trouble, చుట్టుబెట్టువాడు.
