(p. 675) nettamu nettamu. [Tel.] n. High land, as the crest or terrace of a hill, ఉన్నతభూమి, పర్వతముమీది విశాలప్రదేశము. Gambling, జూదము, పాచికలాట. A bet, పందెము. వెత్తమాడు or నెత్తములాడు nettam-āḍu. v. n. To play at dice. జూదమాడు. నెత్తపలక netta-palaka. n. A dice board. నెత్తకమ్మ netta-kamma. n. A stake at dice. పాచికల పందెము.

(p. 984) miṭṭa miṭṭa. [Tel. from మిడియు.] n. A high or rising ground, a small hill. ఉన్నతభూమి. adj. High, elevated; raised (as ground), jutting out (as teeth.). మిట్టపండ్లు projecting teeth. మిట్టపల్లములు ups and downs, uneven ground. మిట్టమధ్యాహ్నము high noon. మిట్టవరహా a kind of gold pagoda worth four rupees. మిట్టమిర్రు (మిర్రు + మిర్రు.) very high ground, అత్యున్నతభూమి. 'ఏటికాల్వ మిట్ట మిర్రుగాద్రవ్వి.' HD. i. మిట్టు or మిట్టించు miṭṭu. v. n. To fly, ఎగురు. మిట్టాడు miṭṭ-āḍu. (మిట్టి + ఆడు.) v. n. To roam, to walk about. సంచరించు. 'మనుజులుమిట్టాడని యొకఘనగహనము.' P. i. 292, a forest unfrequented by men. మిట్టిపడు miṭṭi-paḍu. v. n. To jump, hop along, bound. ఎగిరిపడు. To be puffed with pride or insolence. మిడిసిపడు. మిట్టిపాటు miṭṭi-pāṭu. n. Insolence, మిట్టిపడుట.

(p. 1021) meṭṭa or మిట్ట meṭṭa. [Tel.] n. Rising ground, high lying land, uplands. A hill, a rock. ఉన్నతభూమి, మెరక, పర్వతము, దిబ్బ. The foot, పాదము. Dry land as opposed to మడి or మాగాణి land artificially irrigated. సారంగమెట్ట the hill at Rajahmundry on which sārangadhara was slain. 'ఇట్టలంబుగమీద బుట్టలు పెరిగిమెట్టల క్రియనున్న యిట్టిసన్మునులు.' BD. iii. 2141. మెట్టజీలుగు meṭṭa-jīlugu. n. A species of జీలుగు. (q. v.) మెట్టతామర meṭṭa-tāmara. n. The plant called Cassia alata, or Senna alata. Rox. ii. 349. మెట్టపంట a dry crop, a crop raised on land which is solely dependent on rain. మెట్టమడుగు a lake among hills, or on rising ground, దొన, కొండమడుగు. మెట్టమార్గము the upper road, మెరకమార్గము. A land route (in opposition to సముద్రమార్గము 'by water.') మెట్టనాలుపిట్ట or మెట్టవాల్పిట్ట meṭṭa-vālu-piṭṭa. n. A fowl, కోడి.

(p. 1024) meraka meraka. [Tel.] n. Raised ground, a high spot. మిట్ట. ఉన్నతభూమి. ఆ చోటు మెరకగానున్నది it is an elevated spot. మెరకపల్లములు irregularities in the surface, ups and downs. ఆ పడవను ఈడ్చి మెరకను వేసినారు they drew the boat ashore, they hauled up the boat on the beach.
