(p. 178) ṛtvikku , ఋత్విజుడు ṛitvikku. [Skt.] n. A priest appointed to perform particular rites at a sacrifice. There are 16 orders of Vedic priests, of whom only three (viz: ఉద్గాత, హోత, అధ్వర్యుడు.) are mentioned in Telugu works.

One who steals sacrifices, i.e., Siva. క్రతుధ్వంసి. ౛న్నపుటొ౛్జ ḍzannapu-ṭ-oḍḍza. (జన్నము+ఒ౛్జ.) n. The priest who presides at a sacrifice. ఋత్విజుడు. జెన్నావు ḍzann-āvu. n. A cow that is consecrated.
