A maund or weight of eight viss., i.e., forty seers or twenty-five pounds. ఎనిమిదివీసెల ఎత్తు. మణుగుబువ్వులు maṇugu-buvvulu. n. Vermicelli. ౛ంతికలలో భేదమైన భక్ష్యములు. H. i. 117. మణుచు or మడుచు maṇuṭsu. v. a. To fold or bend. See మడుగు.

Coloured. వర్ణముగల. వన్నెకత్తె or వన్నెలాడి vanne-katte. n. An elegant or graceful girl. శృంగారవతి, సొగసుకత్తె. వన్నెకాడు or వన్నెలాడు vānne-kāḍu. n. A beau, a handsome man. శృంగారవంతుడు, సొగసుకాడు. వన్నెచీర vanne-chīra. n. A coloured cloth, రంగుబట్ట. వన్నెపులుగు or వన్నెలపులుగు vanne-pulugu. n. Lit: The painted bird. i.e., a pheasant, జీవంజీవము.

(p. 1155) vāra vāra. [Tel.] n. A skein of thread for weaving, containing eight punjams, ఎనిమిదిపుంజములమాలు. Variance, difference, discrepancy, especially in calculation. (లెక్కలో) ఎచ్చుతక్కువలు.

(p. 1257) śēru or నేరు ṣēru. [H.] n. A seer, a weight of eight palams or ten ounces, or about a quart in measure. ఎనిమిదిపలములయెత్తు. కచ్చాశేరు the same more definitely. పక్కాశేరు the large seer which contains three ordinary seers or twenty-four palams. సవాశేరు one-fourth of a viss.

(p. 1353) sēru or శేరు sēru. [H.] n. A seer, a measure of weight equal to two pounds: also, a meausure of quantity equal to about a quart. (It varies in various parts of the country.) అరువది నాలుగు లేక ఇరువది డబ్బుల యెత్తు; ఎనిమిదిపలములయెత్తు; ఇరువదినాలుగు తులముల యెత్తు. కచ్చాసేరు the same more definitely. పక్కాసెరు the large seer which contains three సేరులు, that is, twenty four పలములు or ninety-six rupees' weight. సవ్వాసేరు a seer of thirty rupees' weight.

(p. 481) zāmu or ఝాము ḍzāmu. [Tel.] n. A watch, or space of time equivalent to three English hours. The day from sunrise to sunset, and the night until sunrise is reckoned in four quarters, or watches; the second watch expires at twelve o'clock. Hence రెండు౛ాములు is midday or midnight, and రెండు౛ాములున్నర is about 2 p.m. ఎనిమిది ౛ాములు the eight watches, i.e., 24 hours; or a day and night. తెల్లివారి౛ామున in the morning. The plural is ౛ాములు or ౛ాలు.
