(p. 122) ārupu or ఆర్పు ārupu. [Tel.] n. (in painting) the ground which sets off a colour (Commonly) a cry. కూత, ఏడ్పు.

(p. 197) ēḍupu or ఏడ్పు ēḍupu. [Tel. from ఏడ్చు] n. Weeping, complaint, grievance. Longing, strong desire, or bent of mind. నీయేడుపు నీవు చెప్పు tell your tale yourself. ఎవడి యేడుపు వాడు ఏడుస్తాడు every man knows his own troubles. ఇది వారికి ఒకటే యేడ్పు this is what they have set their hearts on.

(p. 332) krandanamu krandanamu. [Skt.] n. Weeping. ఏడ్పు. Shouting, howling. ఆర్పు. పిలుపు. క్రందితము kranditamu. adj. Wept, cried, called out. ఏడ్చిన, పిలిచిన.

(p. 394) gōlugōlu or గోల్గోలు gōlu-gōlu. [Tel.] n. A great noise, an uproar, loud crying. గొల్లుమనుధ్వని, పెద్ద ఏడ్పు.

(p. 607) dēvu dēvu. [Tel.] v. a. To rinse. To take rice, &c. out of water with the hand. To grope for, as with a drage under water, to trample on so as to destroy, as salt. నీళ్లలోనుండి తడవియెత్తు, వెదకు. v. n. To turn, as the stomach when queasy. నా కడుపు దేవుచున్నది I am sickish; my stomach turns. దేవుకొను dēvu-konu. v. t. To scrape together. To root up, turn up. To plunder, rifle. 'పదార్థంబులు దేవుకొని వచ్చి.' BD. v. 696. దేవురించు dēvurinṭsu. v. a. To sue, intreat, plague or beset with petitions, to beg eagerly, to importune. దీనవృత్తిని యాచించు, దైన్యమునొందు. దేవురుగొట్టు dēvuru-goṭṭu. n. A sneak, one who sues for favour, a mean beggar. దేబె, దీనుడు. దేవురింపు or దేవురు dēvu-rimpu. n. Begging with importunity. Lamentation, bewailing, complaining, ఏడ్పు, మొర. దేవులాడు dēvul-āḍu. v. n. To dive in water, to search in water. To roam about, to be in trouble, to pine or struggle. దేవులాడి సాధిస్తిని I managed to effect it with a great effort.

(p. 1038) mottu mottu. [Tel.] v. a. To beat, smite, thrash. కొట్టు. 'కత్తులుకేడెముల్ కరముల దాల్చి, మొత్తిదైత్యులశిరంబులుడుల్లగొట్టి.' Venkaṭāchala Maha. Page. 171. To cut, నరుకు. n. A blow, దెబ్బ. మొత్తించు to cause to beat, కొట్టించు. మొత్తులాడు mottu-l-āḍu. v. n. To fight, dispute or quarrel. కొట్లాడు. 'పుణ్యాహతండులములకు మొత్తులాడి.' A. vi. 91. మొత్తుపడు mottu-paḍu. v. n. To be beaten, కొట్టుపడు, కొట్టబడు. మొత్తికొను or మొత్తుకొను motti-konu. v. n. To beat one's own head or mouth in despair. To lament or wail. అక్కడికి పోవద్దని మొత్తుకొంటిని I entreated him not to go there. 'అసురుసురనుచు నడునెత్తి మొత్తుకొనుచు.' Jagann. ii. 63. మొత్తుకోళ్లు mottu-kōḷḷu. n. Lamentations, howling, outcries, wailing. ఏడ్పు, పెడబొబ్బలు.

(p. 1080) ruditamu ruditamu. [Skt.] n. Weeping, crying. ధ్వనిగా నేడవడము, ఏడ్పు, రోదనము.

(p. 1090) rōdanamu rōdanamu. [Skt.] n. Weeping, wailing, lamentation, ఏడ్పు, ఏడవడము. రోదించు rōdinṭsu. v. n. To cry loud, రొదనముచేయు.

(p. 1118) vanta vanta. [Tel.] n. Vexation, regret. మనోదుఃఖరూపమైన విచారము. Sorrow, grief, సంతాపము. Pain, బాధ. A cry, ఏడ్పు. 'రవి బాసిగాసిలెడుపద్మిని కైవడి వంతనొంది వర్తిలుపతి.' R. v. 168. 'నావంతయేమిచెప్పుదు నావంతయు సుఖములేదు.' Bmj. iii. 33. A rivulet. ఏరు, కుల్య, చిన్నకాలువ. 'ఎనుపోతునపుడుకుమ్మరి తనయింటికిరాకయున్న తత్పురినిండ్లన్ వనముల వంతలడొంకల గనుగొనుచున్ వచ్చివచ్చికనియచ్చోటన్.' H. v. 79. 'వంతలగ్రంతల చెట్ట గట్టనాహార మతింజరించి.' P. i. 496.

(p. 1388) hāhā hā-hā. [Skt.] interj. How wonderful! Oh! ఆశ్చర్యోక్తి. Alas! alas! ah me! ఖేదోక్తి. హాహాకారము hāhā-kāramu. n. Cries of 'Ha! Ha' or 'Ah'. ఏడ్పు, పెడబొబ్బలు.
