(p. 625) naṅga or నంగనాచి nanga [Tel.] n. A weevil, or canker worm, a book worm, a round white worm, (also called వడ్లచిలుక and ముడికొక్కు.) which looks harmless but is destructive. Hence, a demure minx, a sly jade, a specious hypocrite. Sometimes used for a mosquito or gnat because it looks harmless దిట్టతనము కలిగియు బయటికి ఏమియు తెలియని దానివలె నుండునది. Swa. iii. 43. నంగనాచితనము nanga-nāchi-tanamu. n. Feigned simplicity. నంగిమాట nangi-māḷa. n. A nasal sound: a word pronounced through the nose. ముక్కుతో మాట్లాడినమాట. A snuffle, or twang. నంగు nangu. v. n. To speak through the nose: to speak with through the nose: to speak with a twang or snuffle. ముక్కుతో మాట్లాడు.

(p. 703) paṭhitamu patitamu. [Skt.] adj. Fallen, alighted, defeated, overthrown. Wicked, abandoned. పఠితత్వము patitatvamu. n. The state of having fallen from one's office or righteousness. పఠితుడు pati-luḍu. n. A fallen creature, a sinner. పడినవాడు, పదవిచెడినవాడు. ఏమియెరుగని పఠితుగా (for పతితుడుగా) ఉన్నాడు he is as innocent as the babe unborn. పతితపావనుడు a restorer of the fallen, a saviour of sinners.

(p. 868) barigi barigi. [Tel. another form of బరి.] adj. Empty, ఏమియులేని, శూన్యము. బరిగిరవుతు barigi-ravutu. n. One who rides a horse without a saddle, పల్లమువేయని గుర్రము మీద నెక్కెడు సారథి.

(p. 1079) ricca or రిచ్చపాటు riṭsṭsa. [Tel.] n. Horror, terror, stupefaction. నిశ్చేష్టత, ఏమియును తోచకయుండడము. దిగులు, వితాకు, మ్రానుపాటు.' మింటునుండుటగాదని యింటిపైకి, దెచ్చుకొంటినటంచుపెన్ రిచ్చవెడలు.' A. v. 155. రిచ్చగొను or రిచ్చవడు riṭsṭsa-gonu. v. n. To be horror-struck, to be stupefied. దిగులుపడు, వితాకుపడు, మ్రానుపడు. 'అచ్చటివార లాబాలగోపాలంబుగా వచ్చి రచ్చలుపడి చూచుచుండిరి.' Vish. vii. 139.

(p. 1123) vaṭṭi vaṭṭi. [Tel.] adj. Empty, mere, plain, simple, naked, downright, utter, gross, false, vain: unprofitable, groundless. ఉత్త. ఏమియు లేని, ప్రయోజనములేని. వట్టిఆవు a dry cow. వట్టికాలు a shin bone, పిక్కవెలుపటికాలు. వట్టిగోడ a mere wall, a blind wall. వట్టికాళ్లతో వచ్చినాడు he came barefoot. వట్టిమన్ను loose earth. వట్టిగాలి mere wind, without rain. వట్టిప్రయాసము unprofitable labour. వట్టిమాట an untrue word, a meaningless word, లేని మాట. అపవాదము. వట్టివరి or వట్టివరులు, a kind of grain. సస్యవిశేషము. వట్టివాడు an empty fool, వ్యర్థుడు. వట్టివేరు vaṭṭi-vēru. n. A fragrant grass usually called Cuscus. Andropogon muricatus. (Watts.) Same as ఆవురుగడ్డివేరు, ఆవురువేరు, విడవలివేరు, ఉశీరము. లామజ్జకము. వట్టు or వట్టిపోవు vaṭṭu. v. n. To dry, become dry, be drained. నీరు ఇంకు, నీరు ఎండిపోవు. ఇంకు. To become lean, కృశించు. n. Drying up, draining, నీరువట్టిపోవడము. A dried vegetable, వరుగు. A scab, ఎండినపక్కు. A hoop, కొయ్యకుగాని దూలమునకుగాని బలమిచ్చుటకు వేసిన కట్టు. A limit, మేర. ఇంతవట్టు thus far, ఇంతమట్టుకు. 'అనుజులదనయులమత్వరిజనులను సమయించివారుసమరోల్లాసంబున మెరయజూడనేర్తు రెజననాధున కింతవట్టుసంజయచెపుమా.'
