(p. 33) aḍa aḍa. [Tel.] n. A lump, clot, mass (as of dates, sugar, hair, &c.) ముద్ద, చింతపండడలు lumps of tamarind. అడకట్టు or అడగొను to become clotted. ముద్దకట్టుకొను. తల అడలుకట్టినది the hair became matted, all the tresses are matted together. అడచేయు aḍa-chēyu. [Tel.] v. To knead and make into lump.

(p. 231) kaṭṭu kaṭṭu. [Tel.] v. n. To cease or stop, gather or form as clouds or a boil, or lump; to be with young (used of animals.) భేది కట్టినది the diarrhoea ceased. మబ్బులుకట్టినవి clouds have gathered. నెత్తురు వెల్లువకట్టినది there was a gush of blood వానికి దెబ్బతగిలి నెత్తురు కట్టినది he received a contusion from a blow. గడ్డలుకట్టిన congealed, become hard. తూటుకట్టినది there is a hole formed.

(p. 323) koliki koliki. [Tel.] n. The tip or end. మొన. A hook or loop కొక్కి. The corner of the eye near the nose ముక్కు కంటిన కంటిమూల. దారమునకు కొలికికట్టినది she made a loop in the string. ఈ దాన్యమునందు కొలుకులు తెలుగు in this poem the terminations of words alone are Telugu. కొలికితెచ్చు to master సాధించు. కొలికికివచ్చు to become subject to one, to come into one's power. వాడు ఏడు ఊళ్లను కొలికికి తెచ్చును he will put seven villages on one ring, i.e., he will have them under his thumb. కొలికిపూస koliki-pūsa. n. The chief gem in a necklace. కొలికికి తగిలించేపూశ. కొలికిముడి koliki-muḍi. n. A noose: a loop. వదులుముడి.

(p. 433) cēṭa chēṭa. [Tel.] n. A winnowing basket or fan. చేటకూరప్పు or చేటప్పు chēṭa-kūrappu. n. A loan of grain, grain lent to be paid in grain or advanced on trust to a buyer. చేటకొల్లారు chēṭa-kollāru. n. A sloping roof without side walls, as over a door. A shed. మూడిండ్లుకలిపి కట్టినది. చేటుచేరు chēṭa-chēru. n. A mode of dress worn by women ఆడువారియొక్క ఒక విధమైన కోకకట్టు. చేటచేరుపు chēṭa-chērupu. n. An easy slope, a gradual rise.

(p. 669) nīvi nīvi. [Skt.] n. A zone, or cestus, a belt. The knot (of a peculiar kind) which keeps up a Hindu woman's garment. పోకముడి. Swa. ii. 73. Capital, principal, stock. A stake or wager, మొదటిసొమ్ము, అసలుసొమ్ము, పందెముకట్టినద్రవ్యము. నీవివనము a park or garden around a house. చుట్టూరునుండుతోట.

(p. 805) poḍa poḍa. [Tel.] n. Appearance, figure, shape. రూపు, చూపు. A mole, speck, mark, a scruff or eruption on the skin. Variegated colour. పొడలపురుగు a spotted worm or serpent. పొడకట్టు poḍa-kaṭṭu. v. n. To make an appearance, to seem, appear, be visible, కనబడు, ప్రత్యక్షమగు, తోచు. నాకు ఆలాగు పొడకట్టినది it struck me so. పొడగను, పొడగాంచు or పొడచూచు poḍa-ganu. To see, view, behold. చూచు. 'పుడమిభర్తకుపండు పొడగాన్పుజేసి, కడుభక్తితోదాని క్రమమెల్లదెలుప.' Sārang. D. v. SVI. పది దినాలుగా వాని పొడ కానము I have not set my eyes upon him these ten days. పొడగానుపు poḍa-gānupu. n. Any small, round and flat thing, a disc or tablet, పలుచగానుండి గుండ్రగానుండే వస్తువు. బంట్రోతుబిళ్ల a peon's badge. అత్తరుబిళ్ల a cake of rose paste. వెండిబిళ్ల a plate of silver. ఒరుగుబిళ్ల a round cushion. రాగిడిబిళ్ల a gold tire. ఆతపెలకు బిళ్లవేసినాడు he put a patch on the metal vessel. మొలబిళ్ల a bit or piece of metal tied on a string around the loins of a female infant. బిళ్లపెంకు or ఓడుబిళ్ల a tile. ఓడుబిళ్లపరువు a tiled roof. బిళ్లబొట్టు a round mark on the forehead. బిళ్లకట్టు biḷḷa-kaṭṭu. v. n. To have a blood boil formed on any part of the body నెత్తురుగడ్డకట్టు. వాని గజ్జలలో బిళ్లకట్టినది he has buboes. బిళ్లగోళ్లు or గోడుబిళ్లలు a name of game played by children. బిళ్లచెప్పులు thin, flat shoes. బిళ్లవాలు the flat round discus of Vishnu, చక్రాయుధము. బిల్లిక another form of బిళ్ల బిళ్లగన్నేరు biḷḷa-gannēru. n. The jalap plant which has lilac flowers. బిళ్లపురుగు billa-purugu. n. The red winged stinging beetle, one of the Cantharides.

(p. 918) bhavanti or బవంతి bhavanti. [Tel.] n. A house containing an open area in the middle. నాలుగిండ్లుకలిపికట్టినది. భవంతిబట్ట a handkerchief which has flowers at the corners.

(p. 931) maṅkena mankena. [Tel.] n. A hamper, pannier. ఎద్దుమీద నీళ్లబిందెలు తెచ్చుటకు బెత్తముతో కట్టినది. A certain tree, Penta-petes phœnicea. జపా, బంధూకము, దాసానిచెట్టు.

(p. 989) mī mī. [Tel. Contracted for మీది or మీదు.] adj. Upper, above. మీగడ or మీవడ mīgaḍa. (మీదు + వడ.) n. Cream, కాగినపాల మీది తెట్టె. మీగడకట్టినది the cream has formed. పాలమీగడలు a name given to a fine sort of rice. H. iv. 156. మీడగపెరుగు curds with the cream on it. మీగాలు mī-gālu. (మీదు + కాలు.) n. The upper part of the foot, పాదముమిది పైభాగము. మీ జెయ్యి mī-jeyyi. (మీదు + చెయ్యి.) n. The back of the hand. కరపృష్ఠము, చేతిమిది పై భాగము.

(p. 1046) mōḍu mōdu. [Tel.] v. a. To hit, smite, strike, beat, కొట్టు, మొత్తు. 'ముచ్చనితల వరుల్ మోదజూచి.' M. XIII. v. 304. n. A blow or stroke. మోద mōda. n. A swelling or stiffening of a joint, callosity formed where a bone was broken. మోదకట్టినది the joint has become stiff.

(నిందయందు) మనుష్యముఖము. మోరచ్చుచెప్పులు shoes put on the wrong way so as to deceive those who trace the wearer. చనుమోరలు the tips of the breasts. కటుమోరలు the cheek bones.
