Blackness: also the dark colour applied to the teeth by some natives. ఇంటికప్పు or పైకప్పు the thatch. మేలుకప్పు a cover. adj. Black, dark, deep (as colour) కప్పుచామన dark red. కప్పు కుత్తుక పులుగు a peacock, as its neck is black. కప్పుతెరువరి fire. కప్పుపచ్చ sap green. కప్పురాయి a sapphire నీలము. కప్పుమల the 'black hill.' కాటుకకొండ. కప్పుమేనిగాము the planet Saturn. Dazzling, radiance, swimming of the eyes: మిరుమిట్లు. నా కన్నులకు చిరుతలు కమ్మనివి or చిరుతలు పారినవి my eyes are dazzled. చిరుత, చిరుతపులి or చిరుతగండు. n. A hunting leopard, commonly called a Cheeta. Cyṇœlurus jubalus. The leopard or Panther, Felis pardus. (F.B.I.). చిరుతిండి or చిరుదిండి chiru-tinḍi. n. Slight fare, such as cakes, fruit and the like. చిరువాలు chiru-vālu. (చిరు+పాలు) n. Boiled milk. చిరోష్మ chirōshma. adj. Heated, lukewarm. కొంచెముగ కాచిన. A. iv. 174.

(p. 689) paṇḍuga, paṇḍugu, paṇḍuva or పండువు panḍuga. [Tel.] n. A feast or festival, a treat. ఉత్సవము. దాన్ని చూడగా వానికన్నులకు పండుగ అయినది the sight of her was a feast to his eyes. ఇల్లలుకగానే పండుగ యగునా? does the decking of a house constitute a feast? చెవులపండువు a treat to the ears.

(p. 928) bhairavamu bhairavamu. [Skt.] n. Frightfulness. భయానకరసము. Darkness, or swimming of the eyes. కన్నులకు భైరవముకమ్మినది a darkness came over my eyes, I was dazzled. adj. Terrible, frightful. బైరవకత్తి bhairava-katti. n. A large heavy two edged sword. 'భైరవకత్తులు పట్టుకరాగా.' Pal. 259. భైరవి or భైరి bhairavi. n. The Peregrine Falcon, Falco peregrinus. జుట్టుభైరవి the Crested Hawk Eagle. భూతభైవి an epithet of the goddess Káli or Durga who is the same as Isis or Venus. పార్వతి. A shrub called Premna serratifolia. Rox. iii. 77. భైరవుడు bhairavuḍu. n. A name of Siva, but more especially an inferior manifestation or form of the deity, eight of which, are called by the common name భైరవుడు, and are severally termed అసితాంగభైరవుడు, రురుభైరవుడు, దండభైరవుడు, క్రోధభైరవుడు, ఉన్మతభైరవుడు, కుపితభైరవుడు, భీషణబైరవుడు, సంహారభైరవుడు, ఆకాశభైరవుడు, (a form of Siva, corresponding to Anubis or Osiris.)

A guest, భోజనమునకు వచ్చినవాడు, భోజనమునకువచ్చినస్త్రీ, అతిథి. A relation, చుట్టము. కన్నులకువిందుగానుండే a feast for the eyes, a delicious or alluring sight. 'చూడ్కివిందొనరించి.' N. ix. 276. మాకు విందులేనికూడు మందు a dinner without a guest is medicine with us, i.e., we seldom dine without friends. 'కొండముచ్చునకును కోతియువిందౌ.' Vema. 1783. తమ్మిపూవిందు the friend of the lotus, i.e., the sun. R. v. 175. విందుచేయు or విందుపెట్టు vindu-chēyu. v. n. (p. 1205) vekkasamu vekkasamu. [Tel.] n. Excess, an extreme. మిక్కుటము. Satiety, glut, fullness, gorge, plethore. Nausea, loathing, repugnance, disgust, dislike, చీదర, అసహ్యము, దుస్సహత్వము. వెక్కసములు vekkasamulu. n. plu. Disgusting words. దుస్సహవచనములు. 'చకోరకదంబంబుల వుక్కిళ్లకు వెక్కసంబై ముక్కులకు నెక్కి చిక్కంబడి.' Swa. iii. 37. adj. Excessive, extreme. అధికము. Loathesome, disgusting, దుస్సహము. Hard to get, దుర్లభము. వెక్కసపడు or వెక్కసమందు vekkasa-paḍu. v. a. To abhor, to loathe, చీదరపడు, అసహ్యపడు. 'వెక్కసమందుచుకురుపతి, రక్కసుతో ననియె.' M. VI. iii. 99. వెక్కసపాటు vakkasa-pāṭu. n. The act of being disgusted, loathing. వెక్కసించు or వెక్కసమగు vekka-sinṭsu. v. n. To be glutted, or gorged. To exceed, మిక్కుటమగు. 'కన్నులకు వెక్కసంబైన చెన్నుమిగిలి.' Ellana. ii. 114. To become loathesome, disgusting or unbearable, దుస్సహమగు. వెక్కసములాడు vekkasamu-l-āḍu. v. a. To scold, to abuse, తిట్టు. 'అందరుమీదబడి వెక్కసములాడి ప్రహరించి యిల్లువెడలింప.' Sar.
