(p. 191) erra , ఎర్రన erra. [Tel.] n. Redness ఎర్రదనము, ఎరుపు. ఎర్ర or ఎర్రని adj. Red, scarlet, crimson. ఎర్రనివాండ్రు people of fair complexion. కన్నులెర్రచేసి పలికినాడు he spoke with eyes inflamed with fury. ఎర్రనియేగాని నావద్ద లేదు I have not even a copper with me. ఎర్రకాళ్లజిట్ట erra-kaḷḷajiṭṭa. n. [Tel.] n. A large red spider. ఎర్రచీమ erra-chīma. A red ant. ఎర్ర చేమంతి erra-chēmanti. Red chrysanthymum. ఎర్రన errana. n. Redness ఎరుపు. ఎర్రపోతమ్మ erra-pōtamma. n. The name of one of the village goddesses, supposed to cure diseases among cattle. ఎర్రబారు or ఎర్రవాడు erra-bāru. v. i. To become red. ఎర్రనగు. ఎర్రమన్ను erra-mannu. n. Red earth. ఎర్రమంటి గువ్వ erra-maṇṭi-guvva. n. The rufous-tailed finch lark. Ammomanes phoenicura (F.B.I.) ఎర్రమల్లె erra-malle. Red jasmine. ఎర్రమీను erra-mīnu. Red fish. ఎర్రవేలుపు erra-vēlupu. (p. 197) ēṇamu or ఏణి ēṇamu. [Skt.] n. A gazelle or black antelope. పెద్దకన్నులు గల నల్లయిర్రి. ఏణనయన ēṇa-nayana. adj. Stag-eyed, dark-eyed. ఏణాంకుడు ēṇ-ānkuḍu. n. The Moon, because his ensign is an antelope. శశాంకుడు. ఏణాక్షి ēṇ-ākshi. adj. Stag-eyed, gazelle-eyed, having beautiful eyes.

(p. 202) ēsi ēṣi. [Tel.] An affix. At the rate of, at. పదేసి at the rate of ten. ఇంతలేసి కన్నులు eyes so large. Also, for వేసి (the initial V being dropt); thus, పెల్లేసి for పెల్లలువేసి. ఏహ్యము ēhyamu. [Skt.] adj. Abominable.

Fascination, deluding. కన్నుకట్టుట to delude, or blind the eyes. కన్నుకట్టువిద్య magic,legerdemain. The art of being invisible. కన్నుగవ or కన్నుదోయి A pair of eyes. కన్నునీరు or కన్నీరు tears. కన్నుబ్రాము (R. 1. 107.) (p. 245) kappu kappu. [Tel.] n. A covering, a cover; the outside of anything: the husk of grain. The exterior surface or coat. Thatch, roof. Colour, as being a cover. Darkness. Blackness: also the dark colour applied to the teeth by some natives. ఇంటికప్పు or పైకప్పు the thatch. మేలుకప్పు a cover. adj. Black, dark, deep (as colour) కప్పుచామన dark red. కప్పు కుత్తుక పులుగు a peacock, as its neck is black. కప్పుతెరువరి fire. కప్పుపచ్చ sap green. కప్పురాయి a sapphire నీలము. కప్పుమల the 'black hill.' కాటుకకొండ. కప్పుమేనిగాము the planet Saturn. It is also supposed to assist in conjuring and giving second sight. అంజనము. కాటుక is listre or dark brown. లక్ష్మీకాటుకలు a species of grain. మందుకాటుక love powders or eyesalve. భూతకాటుక magic powder. కాటుకవలె నూరినాడు he beat it to the consistency of paste. adj. Dark. deep in colour, dark brown, but distinct from black నల్ల. కాటుకపచ్చ dark green విడిపచ్చ light green. కాటుకకన్నులు bright black eyes. కాటుకపట్టు kaṭuka-paṭṭu v. n. To become black నలుపు పారు. కాటుకపిట్ట kāṭuka-piṭṭa. n. A wagtail see జిట్టంగి and దాసరిపిట్ట. కాటుకరాయి kāṭuka-rāyi. n. Sulphuret of antimony సౌవీరాంజనము. కాటుక రేకులపొడ or వులివెంజర kāṭuka-rēkula-poḍ a. n. A certain venomous snake.
