(This alludes to a mode of catching a monkey, by putting grain into a cocoanut with a hole large enough to admit the monkey's hand: he thrusts it in, and after grasping the grain, his fist is caught in the hole: he obstinately refuses to let the grain go, and thus is secured.)

A water lift consisting of a large leathern bucket which is raised and lowered by a rope passing over a wheel and drawn by bullocks. మోట. కపిలెతోలు to draw water by means of such a water-lift. కపిలెగుండు the iron ring that forms the lip of the leather bucket in such a well.

It is also supposed to assist in conjuring and giving second sight. అంజనము. కాటుక is listre or dark brown. లక్ష్మీకాటుకలు a species of grain. మందుకాటుక love powders or eyesalve. భూతకాటుక magic powder. కాటుకవలె నూరినాడు he beat it to the consistency of paste. adj. Dark. deep in colour, dark brown, but distinct from black నల్ల. కాటుకపచ్చ dark green విడిపచ్చ light green. కాటుకకన్నులు bright black eyes. కాటుకపట్టు kaṭuka-paṭṭu v. n. A wild species of the పాలచెట్టు, Periplocā Tunicata:. అజగంధీ, వటపత్రిక. కుక్కముల్లు kukka-mullu. n. An eruption like measles, miliary eruption or nettle rash. కుక్కమూతి పిందె kukka-mūti-pinde. A blasted fruit. A proverb says చెట్టుచెడేకాలానికి కుక్కమూతి పిందెలు పట్టుతవి producing blasted fruit is a mark that the tree will never thrive again. Metaphorically, wild behaviour portends ruin. కుక్కవావింట kukka-vāvinṭa. n. A plant called the Dog Mustard, Cleome viscosa. శ్వాసబర్బర.
