(p. 4) aṅke anke. [Tel.] n. A numerical figure అంకము. Opportunity, time. One pack, half a bullock load. A form of అణక. Bringing the yoke under the neck, as by a troublesome bullock. ఎద్దులు అంకె వేసికొన్నవి the bullocks turned restive, bringing the yoke under the neck. A command, authority, control, restraint, check. అంకెగొను v. i. To cover oneself with కప్పుకొను. అంకెచేయు v. i. To obstruct అడ్డగించు.అంకెకురాని,(భాస్క.2.) ungovernable. అంకెకురావు, అనగా అక్కరకురావు they will not be of any use. అంకెవేసికొను or అణకవేసికొను v. n. To be restive, as a bullock in the yoke. ఎద్దయకాడికెదురు తిరుగుట. నాడు తేపతేపకు అంకెవేసికొనును. he turns restive every now and then.

(p. 52) ani ani. [Tel.] (Past p|| of అను to say) Having said. This is translated by the word 'That' or 'so' or the infinitive mood is used, as వారు అక్కడ ఉండినారని అన్నాడు he told me that they were there. అవతల వెళ్లరాదని తిరిగీ వస్తిమి we did not think it right to go on and returned; we thought we must not go further; so we came back. నన్ను పొమ్మని చెప్పెను he told me to go. తన సొమ్మని యెంచి considering it his own. దాన్ని నాకని కొన్నాడు he bought it for me. కావలెనని అక్కడికి పోయినాడు he went there on purpose. పండ్లను పటపటమని కొరికినాడు he gnashed his teeth. ఘమ్మని fragrantly. తళుక్కని brilliantly. గడగడమని మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke rapidly. ఈగలు జుమ్మని ముసురు కొన్నవి the flies covered it buzzingly. నీవు ఈ శాలువ కప్పుకొంటే గుమ్మని ఉండును if you wear this shawl it feels warm: or, you will feel warm.

(p. 170) ulṭā ulṭā. [H.] adj. Reverse, the wrong side, opposite, contrary, turned back లోతట్టు, ఆ శాలువను ఉల్టాగా కప్పుకొన్నాడు he wore the shawl the wrong side up.

(p. 245) kappu kappu. [Tel.] n. A covering, a cover; the outside of anything: the husk of grain. The exterior surface or coat. Thatch, roof. Colour, as being a cover. Darkness. Blackness: also the dark colour applied to the teeth by some natives. ఇంటికప్పు or పైకప్పు the thatch. మేలుకప్పు a cover. adj. Black, dark, deep (as colour) కప్పుచామన dark red. కప్పు కుత్తుక పులుగు a peacock, as its neck is black. కప్పుతెరువరి fire. కప్పుపచ్చ sap green. కప్పురాయి a sapphire నీలము. కప్పుమల the 'black hill.' కాటుకకొండ. కప్పుమేనిగాము the planet Saturn. (గ్రాము = గ్రహము.) కప్పు కెంపుపొళ్లు crimson rubies. v. n. To spread, extend, come on, to cover, to settle as clouds or smoke. క్రమ్ము. v. a. To cover, to place as a covering. ఆచ్ఛాదించు. కప్పుకొను kappu-konu. v. a. and n. To cover oneself with. కన్నులకప్పుకొను to greet: or rejoice at the sight of. కప్పుడు kappuḍu. n. Covering ఆఛ్చాదనము. కప్పుదెంచు kappudenṭsu Same as కప్పు v. n. కప్పుబల్ల kappu-balla. n. A plank of wood placed above the lintel of a door ద్వారము మీదగొడుగు వల్ల నిన్ను బల్లలకు నడుమనుండే పలక.

(p. 357) gammu gammu. [Tel.] n. Fragrance. సువాసన, పరిమళము, ఘుమఘుమ. గమ్మని. Comfortably. ఆ దుప్పటిని గమ్మని కప్పుకొన్నాను I wrapped myself in the rug comfortably.

(p. 662) nivītamu nivītamu. [Skt.] n. A veil, a mantle, a wrapper. కప్పుకొనబడినది, కప్పుకొనేబట్ట. The Brahminical thread, so called when worn round the neck as a necklace, at certain religious rites. పేరు వలె వేసుకొన్న ౛ందెము. రుమాలుగుడ్డను మెడను నివీతముగా వేలాడగట్టి అందులో నొప్పిగానుండే చేతిని ఉంచుకొన్నాడు he has slung his arm in a handkerchief.

(p. 848) prāvṛtamu pr-āvṛitamu [Skt.] n. A veil, cloak, mantle. కప్పుకొనేబట్ట.

(p. 892) burakā burakā. [H.] n. A cloth cover. బురకావేసికొను burakā-vēsi-konu. v. a. To cover oneself with a cloth. కప్పుకొను.
