(p. 103) astamayamu or అస్తమానము astamayamu. [Skt.] n. Sunset, evening. ప్రొద్దుక్రుంకడము. ఇసుక కమ్ముకొని లోకమంతా అస్తమానమైనట్టున్నది clouds of sand obscured the face of nature. అస్తమించు astamiṭsu. v. n. To set, to draw towards evening. ప్రొద్దుక్రుంకు మబ్బుకమ్ముకొని లోకము అస్తమించినట్టున్నది the world is enveloped in shade. అస్తమితము astamitamu. adj. Set, as the sun. క్రుంకిన. అస్తము astamu. [Skt.] adj. Set, cast, thrown, disappeared, lost, gone. క్రుంకిన, పోయిన, మరుగైపోయిన, అస్తబలుడు he who is exhausted. అస్తము n. An imaginary mountain in the west behind which the sun is believed to set. అస్తాచలము, అస్తాద్రి astachalamu. n. The western mountain. అస్తమయపర్వతము.

(p. 248) kammu kammu. [Tel.] v. t. To beat out into wire. కమ్మిగా సెగగొట్టు. To overspread or cover మూయు, వ్యాపించు, క్రమ్ము. కమ్ముకొను kammu-konu. v. a. To pervade, as smoke; to veil, hide, screen, conceal; to surround. శత్రువులు నాలుగు తట్లా కమ్ముకొనిరి the enemy surrounded him on all sides. నాగొంతుకమ్మినది I became hoarse. మత్తుకమ్మిపడ్డాను a stupor came over me and I fell down. వానికి కావలసినంత బలగము ఉన్నది గనుక వాడు చేసిన పనికి వాణ్నికమ్ముకొన్నారు he had abundance of friends, so they screened him from punishment. కమ్ముదల kammu-dala. n. Covering, concealing. తన కృత్రిమమును కమ్ముదలచేసేకొరకు with a view to conceal his roguery.

(p. 380) gurukonu guru-konu. [Tel.] v. n. To attempt. యత్నించు. ఉద్యోగించు. To redouble, as a storm. కమ్ముకొను. 'క గురుకొని కార్యాకార్యము, లెరుగక దుశ్చరితుడై యహితుడగుసేనిన్ , మరవకగరువైనను జను, లెరుగగశాసించునది మహీశుడుబుద్ధిన్.' M. I. vi. 105.

(p. 803) poga or పొప poga. [Tel.]n. Smoke, steam, vapour. ధూమము. 'ఊరుపుపొగల్' the vapour of sighs. Vasu. iv. 10. పొగతాగు to smoke a pipe or cheroot. 'అగరు సాంబ్రాణిపొగలుపట్టి' Ila. i. 140. టీ ధూప మిచ్చి. పొగకన్ను poga-kannu. n. Siva's eye from which fire issued. పొగకర్ర poga-karra. n. A sunbeam. Lit: a stick of smoke, because a beam has that appearance if it falls amid smoke. పొగగూడు poga-gūḍu. n. A chimney. పొగచు, పొగుచు or పొగయించు pogaṭsu. To cause to smoke, పొగయజేయు. To fry, to season with spices. ఇగురబెట్టు, తిరుగబోతబెట్టు, సాతాళించు. 'కలమాన్నము నొల్చిన పప్పునాలుగే న్పొగిచినకూరలున్.' A. i. 39. టీ పొగచినకూరలున్, ఇగురుకూరలును. పొగచుట్ట poga-ṭsūṭṭa. n. A cheroot or cigar. పొగకుంట a tobacco field. పొగాకువేసిన కుంట నేల. పొగచూరు poga-ṭsūru. v. n. To be smoked, పొగపట్టు, పొగవాసన కలిగియుండు. పొగచెట్టు or పొగాకుచెట్టు poga-cheṭṭu. n. The tobacco plant. కారుపొగాకు very strong and black tobacco. పొగపు pogapu. To cause to be fried or seasoned, సాతాళించు. పొగపు orపోపు n. Seasoning, spicery. తిరుగబోత. తాలింపు. పొగబాణము poga-bāṇamu. n. A smoke rocket, i.e., a bomb-shell, ధూమము కమ్ముకొనేటట్టుచేయు ఆకాశబాణము. 'పొగబాణములగముల్ నిగిడింపగ్రమ్మెడు, ధూమంపుపెనుమొగుల్ తొంగలింప.' Bobbili. iii. 137. పొగయు or పొవయు pogayu. v. n. To smoke or emit smoke, పొగలేచు. To be smoked, పొగగలదియగు. To be passed through smoke. To burn slowly. కుములు.

H. i. 245. మొనలారిపోయినకత్తి a knife with a blunt point. adj. Last, furthest, utmost. కడపటి. మొనకట్టు mona-kaṭṭu. v. n. To attempt with enthusiasm, ఉత్సహించు. n. Joy, rejoicing, enthusiasam, ఉత్సాహము. An amulet or drug used as a charm, పెట్టుమందులలో నొకటి. ఒకానొక స్తంభనమాలిక. 'ఇదిదారికట్టు మొనకట్టిది, కాంతావశ్యకరణమిది.' S. i. 18. 'జలాగ్నిస్థంభములును, మొనకట్టును వాకట్టును.' H. i. 174. adj. Rejoicing, enthusiastic, ఉత్సాహకరమైన. మొనకాడు or మొనగాడు mona-kāḍu. n. A leader of an army, a hero, a principal; a ringleader, శూరుడు, సేనాధిపతి, ముఖ్యుడు. దొంగలమొనగాడు a ringleader among thieves. మొనకొను Same as మొనయు. (q. v.) మొనచేయు mona-chēyu. v. n. To face or front in battle. మోహరించు. మొనచన్ను mona-tsannu. n. A nipple. Lit the tip of the breast. చూచుకము. మొనతప్పు mona-tappu. v. n. To be turned away as the face, to turn away from, విముఖమగు.
