(p. 248) kara kara. [Tel.] n. The sea shore; an embankment; a sand bank. తీరము. A stain; dirt; blackness. డాగు, మరక. adj. Black, నల్లని; sharp తీక్ష్ణము; rough, harsh బరుసు. కృష్ణకర a bank or dam on the shore of the Krishṇa. కరగట్టు kara-gaṭṭu. v. n. To be stained or soiled అక్కడ ఉచ్చ కటగట్టినది the place was soiled with urine. కరవాక kara-vāka. n. A backwater, or marsh near the sea.

(p. 1146) vāka vāka. [Tel.] n. A side. వైపు. కరవాక the shore side. A river, a stream, ఏరు. నది.' చదలువాకనీటలజలకమాడి.' Parij. iv. 49. 'ప్రవహించెవిరితేనెవాకయనగ.' Ila. iii. 127. వరికివాక దొరకుమూక what avails a crop without a stream? what avails a chief without a troop? వాకతాలుపు or వాకతాల్పు lit. the river-crested; an epithet of Siva, గంగాధరుడు.
