To interpose, to help; to obstruct, impede. విఘూతమగు, వారించు. నా పనికి అడ్డుపడ్డాడు he threw obstacles in my way. భార్యను కొట్టబోతే కొడుకు అడ్డుపడినాడు as he was going to strike his wife his son interposed. నేనడ్డపడకపోతే వాండ్లు వత్తురు had I not interposed they would have died. అడ్డపాటు aḍḍa-pāṭu. [Tel.] n. Obstacle, hindrance, obstruction. అడ్డి, విఘ్నము. అడ్డబాస aḍḍa-bāsa. n. A nose jewel. బులాకి. అడ్డబొట్టు aḍḍa-boṭṭu. A cross mark worn by the Hindus on their fore-head. అడ్డమాను aḍḍa-mānu. A cross bar. వాడు అడ్డవాట్లు వేస్తున్నాడు he throws impediments in the way.

(p. 85) arru arru. [Tel.] n. The neck. కంఠము, పశుజాతి, మెడపంపు, కుతిక, ఆపద, హాని. A sore on a bullock's neck occasioned by ploughing. ఆ యెద్దు యొక్క అర్రు కొట్టు కొనిపోయినది the bullock's neck is hurt (by the yoke.) 'అందని ఫలముల కర్రుచాపగనేల.' Kalahasti.

(p. 91) allīsakarra allīsa-karra. [H.] n. An oar. పడవతెడ్డు, తెడ్డు. (The boatmen usually cry అయిలేస ayilēsa and అయిలేస బడియేల when rowing) అల్లీసకర్రలువేయు or కోలలువేయు to row a boat with oars.

(p. 94) avapātamu ava-pātamu. [Skt.] n. A pit concealed under leaves and earth to catch elephants. ఏనుగులు మొదలైన మృగములను పట్టుకొనుటకై త్రవ్వి మీడ కర్రలను కంపలను పరచి వాటి పైన కొద్దిగా మన్ను వేయబడిన గొయ్యి, ఓదము.

(p. 198) ēdu or ఏదువంది ēdu. [Tel.] n. A procupine. ముండ్లపంది. One species is called కోడియేదు but in the south it is called ఒంటరికాడు. HD. i. 512. ఏదుపెరికినట్లు or ఏదుపంది ముండ్లు తీసినట్లు like pulling out the porcupines quills. ఏదువాసన a disgusting smell like that of a porcupine. cf. 'It stinks like a badger.' ఏదుకర్రలవంకెలు (H. iv. 159.) a sort of grain. ఏదుగడ్డి ēdu-gaḍḍi. n. Andropagon contortus, or the Spear grass. (Watts.) ఏదువేట ēdu-vēṭa. n. The stem or stalk of grain; any straight rod whether of wood or not. పొగకర్ర or జాలకర్ర a sunbeam. ఇనపకర్ర a bar of iron. కర్రపచ్చినికోసినకోత reaping while the stalks are green. Blackness నలుపు. A dark stain మరక. See కర. కర్రకుట్లు karrakuṭlu. n. A piece of flesh fried over a fire. ఇనుపశలాకయందు గ్రుచ్చి కాల్చే మాంసఖండము.

A season, time of the year. కాలము. చిన్నకారు childhood, youth. తొలికారు the opening of the year. కారు మెరుపు or తొలికరుమెరుపు or క్రొక్కారు మెరుంగు vernal lightning తొలివానకాలపు మెరుపు. నవకారు Spring. ఈ సంవత్సరములో ముక్కారులున్ను పండినవి the three seasons have yielded crops this year. ఒక కారు కోడిపిల్లలను అమ్మివేసినాను I have sold one brood of chickens. నాలుగు కారులగిత్త a heifer four years old. కారు కాలము, ఫలకాము harvest time. కారు పంట, a crop that depends on the rain. వర్షాకాలమందు నీరాసరానుపండే పల్లపుపంట, కారువడ్లు rice grown in the hot season, ఎండకాలమందు పండే వరి ధాన్యము. కారువాయిధర price current of grain at the time of reaping.
