(p. 256) kalacu kalaṭsu. [Tel. causal of కలగు.] v. a. To trouble, disconcert, disorder. To melt, or agitate with any passion. కలతనొందునట్లుచేయు. కలత kalata. n. Trouble, perplexity. A dispute, squabble. Indisposition. Turbidity in water. క్షోభము. కలతపడు kalata-paḍu. v. n. To dispute, squabble, to quarrel.

An ant. కొండచీమ. the forest ant. రెక్కలచీమ a winged ant. పారేచీమను వింటాడు he can hear an ant crawl, i.e., he is all alive. చీమదూరని అడవి a forest impervious even to an ant. చలిచీమ a black ant; పై పారేపక్షి కిందపారే చీమ (proverb) The bird above, the ant below, i.e., I had no chance with him. చీమంత of the size of an ant. చీమపులి chīma-puli. n. The ant lion, an ant-eater.

(p. 449) cukka ṭsukka. [Tel.] n. Any small mark; a dot or spot: a drop, a small quantity of liquid. బొట్టు. The round mark (తిలకము) worn on the forehead by Hindus. A star, నక్షత్రము. A spot in the eye due to an injury or to disease. చుక్కలి or చుక్కిలి ṭsukkali. n. A tree called Trophis Aspera. Rox. iii. 762. బర్రింక. చుక్కలతెరువు the sky ఆకాశము. చుక్కలరేడు the moon. చుక్కవాలు ṭsukka-vālu. n. An evil planet or unlucky star. Particularly of Venus (ఛుక్క, i.e., శుక్రః) for the Hindus believe that every journey will turn out ill if on setting out this star faces them.

(p. 454) cōpu ṭsōpu. [Tel. The causal of చొక్కు.] v. n. To enamour. v. a. To dissipate or scatter, to confuse, కలచు; to scare away, strike off, do away. తరుము, తోలు. n. Confusion కలత. చోపుడుపెట్టు to drive wild cattle towards the buntman's ambuscade, to stalk deer. Suca. i.200. చోపుడు Same as చోపు (noun). చోపుడుకోల a stick to drive cattle with.
