(p. 904) bondu bondu. [Tel.] n. A skein, a bundle of fibres of thread. A thread, దారము. A tape, నాడా. The string for fastening a jacket, the tie of a boddice. Growing corn dried up, from want of moisture. గింజపట్టనివరి. Flowers woven into a garland, పుష్పసరము. నూలిబొందు or సిగుబొందు a piece of cotton or silk thread, with which the tresses are tied. బొందుకంకి a pithless ear. బొందుచొప్ప or బొందుగడ్డి a blasted crop. 'పుష్పములుకోసి నేర్పుమీర బలుతెరంగులవింతవింతలుగ మాలికలునుబొందులు కందుకంబులు రచించి.' KP. iv. 89. బొందులనగా లావాటిదండలు, తంతుసమూహము. adj. Big, plump, fat-fleshed. పుష్టిగానుండే, లావాటి, ఆబిడ్డయొక్క కాళ్లుచేతులు బొందుగానున్ణవి the child's limbs are plump. వానిది బొందు శరీరము he is plump. 'చాలదళంబుగా పృథుల చంపకకీలనబొల్చు బొందుతో మాలెలనంగ.' A. i. 22. టీ బొందుతోమాలెలనంగ, కట్టుమాలె లోయనగాను. బొందుపోవు bondu-pōvu. v. n. To pine or become pithless, as a ear of corn; to wither, as a crop.

(p. 1011) muvva muvva. [Tel.ముడు + వా.] n. A small bell (such as dancers and post office runners wear.) An anklet with small bells. గజ్జె. 'మురుగులుకాసెకోకలును మువ్వలు గ్రుచ్చినచల్లడాలు.' Chenn. ii. 229. మువ్వ టపా an express or postal mail carried by runners. Also, a single masted vessel. (Vizāg.) మువ్వకోడె muvva-kōḍe. n. A bullock in training. కొత్తగ కాడికిగంతకు నలవరచేయెద్దు. మువ్వదోనె muvva-dōne. n. A vessel with one keel (as distinguished from కోతదోనె or సంగడిదోనె a shoe dony, which has two keels.) ఒంటి అడుగు పలక గలదోనె.

(p. 1076) rāvaṇuḍu rāvaṇuḍu. [Skt. literally, he who afficts or injures.] n. Rāvaṇa, the Asura lord, the sovereign of Lanka, or Ceylon, లంకేశ్వరుడు. A very cruel man హింసకుడు. A learned fool, తెలిసిన మూఢుడు. 'దైవతయులారత్రిజగద్రావణు రావణుని దాశరధినైద్రుంతున్.' R. iii. 69. రావణుని కోట a labyrinth, a great puzzle. రావణహస్తము rāvaṇa-hastamu. n. A kind of fiddle. వీణాభేదము. 'కాహళల్ డోళ్లుశంఖములు రావణహస్తములు డిండిమంబులు మురళికలును.' Balrama. v. 24.

(p. 1100) lāka lāka. [Tel.] n. A feather. పక్షియీక. A new shoot from a stalk of corn, &c. ౛ొన్నపైరులాకపెట్టినది the cholam has sent out fresh shoots. లాకకట్టు lāka-kaṭṭu. n. Pinioning the arms. పెడచేతులువిరిచికట్టు. లాకలు lākalu. n. plu. Small pieces of stick, used by weavers. సాలెవాడు పడుగునందుగుచ్చే పుల్లలు.' కారంపుపడుగులు కండెల కప్పెర గోలముల్ లాకలునీలకడవ, గంప, డొల్ల, కళాసంబు, కదురు, చెమికె.' H. ii. 12. లాకకట్ట lāka-kaṭṭu. n. The unfinished warp of a cloth with pieces of wood still stuck in it, లాకలతో చుట్టి యుంచిన పనిముగియని పడుగు.

A talkative man, one who talks idly or blamably, a tattler, వాగుపోతు, ప్రేలేవాడు, మాటకారి. 'వాచాటులగు జరఠవనితలు.' A. iv. 43. వాచాలము vāchālamu. adj. Chattering, talkative, gabbling, talking much. ప్రేలే, వాగే, పనికిమాలిన మాటలాడే. వాచాలత or వాచాలత్వము vāchālata. n. Talkativeness, readiness or fluency of speech, tattling, ప్రేలడము, వాగడము, తరచుగా మాటలాడడము. 'రాజెల్కలున్ వాచాలత్వముజూపె.' G. vii. 10. వాచించు vāchinṭsu. v. a. To tell, చెప్పు. To read, చదువు. వాచికము vāchikamu. n. News, intelligence, tidings. చెప్పిపంపించిన వర్తమానము, సమాచారము. 'కాంచన పత్రికావళుల గౌతుకమాచక వాచికంబు వ్రాయించిసమస్తదేశ వసు ధేశులకంపిన.' Vasu. v. 80. టీ వాచికము, సమదేశవాక్కు. వాచ్యము vāchyamu. adj. Fit or proper to be spoken or said. చెప్పదగిన. Blameworthy, vile,contemptible, low, out-caste. నిందింపదగిన, నింద్యము, హీనము.
