(p. 7) añcana or అంచనా anṭsana. [Tel.] n. An estimate, valuation, an appraisement. తుకము; చేసుకోయకమునుపు పంట ఆకళింపుచేయడము. అంచనాచూచు or వేయు to estimate crops, &c. అంచనాదారుడు an appraiser, an officer who estimates the quantity of corn in a field, or of the salt in a heap. నిలువు అంచనా, an estimate of the produce of a field before it is cut. కుప్ప అంచనా an estimate of the produce of a field after it is cut and heaped. అంచనా౛ాబితా an account of the estimated quantity of each ryot's produce.

(p. 16) ambakaḷamu amba-kaḷamu. [Tel.] n. Porridge. అంబలి. 'చెన్నయ్య యింట బులియం బళకము చెయిదియ్యకనుజుర్రి' B. D. 3.750.

(p. 18) akaḷaṅkamu a-kaḷankamu. [Skt.] adj. Stainless, spotless, faultless, blameless, నిష్కళంకమైన, నిర్మలమైన, దోషరహితమైన, అకళంకుడు a spotless man.

(p. 20) akkaḷiñcu akkaḷinṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To twist, to contract, used of the muscles of the belly, a condition due to want of food. కడుపువెన్నున అంటుకొని పోవునట్టుగా సగ్గించు. 'అక్కళించినపొట్ట మక్కళించి.' Swa. I. 15.

(p. 20) akkasamu akkasamu. [Tel.] n. Sorrow. 'నీ, వెక్కడనుండి వచ్చితిది యేటికి నుస్సురుమంటినీకు నీ, యక్కసమేలవచ్చెను.' కళా. 3. ఆ.

(p. 57) anumati anumati. [Skt.] n. Agreement, consent, permission, leave. The fourteenth day of the moon's age, on which she rises one digit less than full. సమ్మతి, అనుజ్ఞ. న్యూనేందుకళాపూర్ణిమ, చతుర్ధశీ యుక్తపూర్ణిమ తండ్రి అనుమతిని కొమారుడు రంగయ్య వ్రాలు signed by Rangayya with the consent of his father అనుమతించు v. n. To consent.

(p. 92) avagāhamu or అవగాహనము ava-gāhamu. [Skt.] n. Immersion: bathing: comprehension. ముణగడము, తెలియడము, అకళింత. అది నాకు అవగాహము కాలేదు I do not comprehend it. అది నీకు అవగాహనమైనదా have you understood it? దాన్ని నేను అవగాహనము చేసికొన్నాను I have understood it.

(p. 102) asalu asalu. [H.] adj. Original, principal, excellent, real, genuine, legitimate. మొదటిదైన, ముఖ్యమైన, స్వచ్ఛమైన, సంకరముకాని. అసలుదావా the original complaint. అసలు వాది the original complainant. అసలు బేరీజు the original rents or account. అసలు n. The principal, as opposed to the interest మూలధనము Plu. అసళ్లు originals. అసళ్లు ఉంచుకొని నకళ్లు ఇచ్చినాడు he retained the originals and gave the copies. Also, origin, stock in trade.

(p. 102) asimi asimi. [Tel.] n. A bag placed on the back of a bullock to carry things. ఎద్దు మీద వేయు గోనె వలె కుట్టిన సంచి. అసిమి గొల్లెన asimi-gollena. [Tel.] n. A kind of small tent. ఇరుప్రక్కలను వంపుగా శాలువలె నేర్పరిచిన చిన్నగుడారము. 'మునుపుగానేగియసి మిగొల్లెనలుపన్ని' కళా viii.

(p. 107) ākaḷiñcu ākaḷinṭsu. [Tel.] v. t. To understand. గ్రహించు. ఆకళింత or ఆకళింపు ākaḷinta. [Skt.] n. Intelligence; comprehension. అవగాహనము. అది నాకు ఆకళింపు కాలేదు I do not comprehend it.

(p. 118) āmu āmu. [Tel.] n. Fatness, lust, desire. మదము. ఆము or ఆముకవియు āmu. v. a. To cover, spread over. మాదాళించు, నిండు. కళలామిన ముఖము a face bright with radiance. ఆముకొను āmu-konu. v. n. To increase. హెచ్చగు, పైకొను.

(p. 148) ukkaḷamu ukkaḷamu. [Tel.] n. The vanguard, pickets round a camp. A principal or royal road near a city. పట్టణసమీప రాజ మార్గము.

(p. 206) okaḷlu okaḷlu. plural of ఒకడు or ఒకరు q. v.

(p. 228) kakku kakku. [Tel. from కరుకు] n. A notch. roughness: కక్కులు dents, notches: teeth: the rough part of a millstone or of a saw the toothed part of a file, sickle, or saw. కళ్లెకక్కులు teeth of a horse's bit. కక్కుపెట్టు kakku-peṭṭu. v. t. To set or sharpen a saw, &c. కక్కు వేయు kakku-veyu. v. t. To roughen, or set (a saw or mill stone.)

(p. 230) kaṭakamu kaṭakamu. [Skt.] n. A town or city. A capital రాజధాని. The town of Cuttack in Orissa. A ring for the wrist or ankle, a bracelet or anklet. క్షడియము, పాదకటకము. కళ్యాణ కటకము the town of Kalyaṇ. The side or ridge of a hill. కొండనడుము, పర్వతనితంబప్రదేశము.
