(p. 71) abhiṣēkamu abhi-shēkamu. [Skt.] n. Installation by anointing, initiation, royal unction, bathing, anointing, inauguration. స్నానము, మునక, పట్టముకట్టడము. దేవునికి అభిషేకము అయిన తరువాత after the idol was bathed. తైలాభిషేకము anointing with oil. చూర్ణాభిషేకము a particular rite of pouring turmeric powder over the head of an idol on the sixth day of the annual feast called బ్రహ్మోత్సవము. పట్టాభిషేకము coronation of a king. పట్టాభిషేకము చేయు to crown a king. రాజు ఆ కవికి స్వర్ణాభిషేకము చేసినాడు the prince showered bounties upon the poet. అన్నాభిషేకము చేయు to pour boiled rice over an image. అభిషేకించు v. t. To bathe, anoint. తల అంటు, మునిగించు. అభిషిక్తము abhi-shitkamu. [Skt.] adj. Installed by anointing, bathed, anointed. పట్టము కట్టబడిన, స్నానము చేయింపబడిన. అభిషిక్తుడు. n. He who is inagurated or installed, he who is bathed or anointed. పదప్రాప్తుడు, పట్టము కట్టబడినవాడు, స్నాతుడు. అభిషేచనము abhi-shēchanamu. [Skt.] n. Sprinkling, inauguration.

(p. 271) kānu kānu. [Tel. another form of కను.] v. a. To perceive, to see or enjoy, నీ చప్పుడు కానబడలేదు I did not recognize your voice. కవికాననిచోటు రవికానడు everything that the sun sees is seen by the poet. కానవే do you not know. మోక్షము కానలేడు he cannot see or enjoy bliss or heaven. See కానిపించు.

(p. 288) kuñjamu kunjamu. [Skt.] n. A thicket, a bower, or arbour. పొదరిల్లు. An elephant's cheek ఏనుగుచెక్కిలి. An elephant's tusk ఏనుగుకొమ్ము. కుంజరము kunjaramu. n. An elephant. The best of anything శ్రేష్ఠము కవికుంజరుడు a great poet. మౌనికుంజరములు the noblest of hermits. కుంజరాశనము kunjar-āṣanamu. n. Elephant's food. The poplar leaved fig tree, ficus religious. రావిచెట్టు.

(p. 1164) vikavika or వికావిక vika-vika. [Tel. (anuk.)] adv. Much, aloud (a word used of laughter.) పకపక. 'శృంగారపువింతమాటల వికావికవానినగించినవ్వుచున్.' T. ii. 95. వికవికనవ్వు vika-vika-navvu. v. n. To laugh out, to laugh loudly, పకపకనవ్వు. 'కళవలళమందుగన్గొనువికావికనవ్వు.' Ila. iii. 71.

(p. 1164) vikāramu vikāramu. [Skt.] n. A change of form, nature or quality, alteration; a transition from the quiescent state of the mind. Disease, sickness. Oddness, queerness, ugliness. తిరస్కారము, ప్రకృత్వన్యధాభావము, మారురూపమునొందుట, రోగము. 'లోనుబదిలిపరచి లోకవికారంబుతరిగివేయువాడు.' Vema. 2056. వికారములు strange doings or tricks వికృతములైనచేష్టలు. వికారము adj. Ugly, unnatural, odd, queer. విరూపమైన, కరూపమైన, వింతైన. వికరారముగా vikāramu-gā. adv. Oddly, queerly, unnaturally. విరూపముగా, కురూపముగా. నాకు ఒళ్లు వికారముగానున్నది I am ailing a little. కడుపులలో వికారముగానున్నది I feel nausea. వికారించు vikārinṭsu. v. n. To disagree with the health: to ail. ఒంటికి గిట్టక (or పడక) పోవు. వికారి vikāri. n. The name of a Telugu year.

(p. 1202) vīsamu vīsamu. [Tel.] n. The fraction called one sixteenth, the sixteenth part of anything. A grain of gold equal in weight to one grain of rice. వడ్లగింజయెత్తుబంగారము. వీసబడి or వీసుబడి vīsa-baḍi. (వీసము+బడి.) n. Cess or tax, levied on a town and then divided among several persons each of whom pays his share, a certain tax on the profits of a trade. గ్రామమునందు భాగప్రకారముకలిగిన భూస్వాతంత్య్రము. A ryotwari settlement. A measure of land equal nearly to two acres. వీసర or వీసరము vīsara. (వీసర+అర.) n. Want, defect, deficiency, diminution. కొరత, వెలితి. వీసరపడు or వీసరపోవు vīsara-paḍu. v. n. To be lacking, or deficient, వెలితిపడు. To fail, be fruitless. వ్యర్థమగు, కించిద్భంగమగు. 'కవికానకచేసినపుణ్యపాపముల్ విసరపోవు.' Dasarathi Ṣatakam.

(p. 1376) svarṇamu svarṇamu. [Skt.] n. Gold. కనకము, బంగారు. స్వర్ణరససిద్ధి alchemy. ఆ కవికి స్వర్ణాభిషేకము చేసినాడు he made the poet wallow in wealth. ఆ ధ్వజస్తంభమునకు స్వర్ణాభిషేకము చేయించినాడు he gilt the flagstaff of the temple. స్వర్ణకారుడు svarṇa-kāruḍu. n. A goldsmith. కంసలవాడు.
