(p. 265) kāmbhōjamu kāmbhōjamu. [Skt.] n. The country of Cambay. A horse imported from that country. కాంభోజి the name of a sweet tune in Indian music.

(p. 859) baṇḍi banḍi. [Tel.] n. A cart, gig, carriage, coach, waggon, శకటము. A car, రథము. The four kinds of బండ్లు are గూడుబండి or చాపబండి a cart covered with a mat. పెట్టెబండి a palanquin coach, or a bullock coach. విల్లుబండి a carrriage on springs. కోచిబండి an English 'coach.' The piece of wood round which gold lace or cotton lace is rolled: so called because shaped like an axle between two wheels. బండికల్లు banḍi-kallu. n. The wheel of a carriage or cart. కల్లు, రథచక్రము. (కల్లు is a stone, as the wheels, were originally made of stone. Such are still seen in remote towns.) బండికల్లు రూపాయి or బండిరూపాయి banḍi-kallu-rūpāyi. n. A milled rupee: lit: one like a wheel. బండిగిల్లు banḍi-gillu. v. n. To suffer difficulties. కడగండ్లుపడు. బండిగురిగిం౛ or బండిగురువెంద banḍi-guriginḍza. n. The vine called Dalbergia volubilis. Rox. iii. 231. కాంభోజిలత. బండిమొగ్గరము banḍi-moggaramu. n. A certain military evolution called శకటవ్యూహము, which is shaped like a cart. బండిరిక్క banḍi-rikka. n. The star called రోహిణి. బండిరేఫ banḍi-rēpha. n. 'The great R.' The leter ర; which is so named from బండి a wheel. శపటరేఫ. (The Pandits have made fruitless efforts to introduce this obsolete letter into modern Telugu.) బండిరేవు banḍi-rēvu. n. A ford in a river where carts cross it. The great shore. బండిరొట్ట banḍi-roṭṭa. n. A sort of fodder.

(p. 891) buḍumalu buḍumalu. [Tel.] n. A species of grain. One species is called వంగాకు బుడుమలు. 'చంద్రవంకలుజీనసరులు, కాంభోజలు, వంగాకుబుడుమలుపొంగుప్రాలు.' H. iv. 156.

(p. 1027) mēghamu mēghamu. [Skt.] n. A cloud. మెయిలు. మేఘద్వారము mēghadvāramu. n. The gate of clouds, i.e., the sky. ఆకాశము, మొగులుదారి. మేఘనాదము mēghanādamu. n. Thunder, ఉరుము. మేఘనాదుడు mēgha-nāduḍu. n. The son of Rāvaṇa ఇంద్రజిత్తు. Also, Varuṇa, వరుణుడు. మేఘపుష్పము mēgha-pushpamu. n. The flower of clouds, i.e., water, or drizzle, ఉదకము, తూర. మేఘవన్నె mēgha-vanne. n. A sort of silk. 'మేఘవన్నెయు, రుద్రాక్ష వన్నెయు, కాంభోజి పులిగోరుపట్టును.' BD. iii. 114. మేఘాడంబరము mēgh-āḍambaramu. n. The lowering or threatening of clouds. మేఘుడు mēghuḍu. n. A cloud, personified as living.Bhāse. §. 1.

(p. 1244) śaramu ṣaramu. [Skt.] n. An arrow, బాణము. A sort of reed or grass, రెల్లు. Water, జలము. శరజన్ముడు ṣar-janmuḍu. n. Lit. born among reeds: an epithet of Kartikēya. కుమారస్వామి. శరధి or శరనిధి ṣara-dhi. n. The sea, the ocean. సముద్రము. A quiver, అమ్ములపొది. A sort of cloth, వస్త్రవిశేషము. 'సన్నపరంజియు శరధియు మేఘపన్నెయు, రుద్రాక్షవన్నెకాంభోజి.' BD. iii. 144. శరవనము ṣar-vanamu. n. A forest or bed of reeds. రెల్లువనము.

(p. 1255) śuddhamu ṣuddhamu. [Skt.] adj. White, తెల్లని. Pure, clean, stainless, పవిత్రమైన, నిర్దోషమైన. Unmixed, unadulterated; entire, complete. Total, downright, absolute, mere. పరిష్కృతమైన. శుద్ధసంస్కృతము pure Sanskrit. శుద్ధప్రతి a faultless or true copy. శుద్ధఅబద్ధము an utter falsehood. శుద్ధలోభి a perfect miser. In music it means devoid of variations: as శుద్ధకాంభోజి the melody or theme of the Kāmbōdi air. శుద్ధక్రయము absolute sale. శుద్ధక్రయశాసనము a written instrument of absolute sale. n. Whiteness, తెలుపు. The bright lunar fortnight. శుద్ధపంచమి the fifth day of the bright lunar fortnight. శుద్ధముగా ṣuddkamu-gā. adv. Wholly, entirely, completely, uttterly. బొత్తిగా, యావత్తు శుద్దాంతము ṣuddh-āntamu. n. A harem or seraglio; the private or women's apartments in a palace. అంతఃపురము The King's wife or concubine అంతఃపురరస్త్రీ. శుద్ధి ṣud-dhi. n. Purity, cleanness, purification, పవిత్రత, నిర్మలత్వము. వాక్శుద్ధి purity of speech. హస్తకుద్ధి successful practice, as that of a skillful physician అత్మశుద్ధి or భావశుద్ధి spiritual purity, cleanness of heart. చింతమల్లెలు తెప్పించి అతనికి దేహశుద్ధి చేయించినారు they got a cane and purified his body, i.e., gave him a thrashing. శుద్ధీకరింపు ṣuddhī-karimpu. n. Cleansing, correction, emendation. పవిత్రీకరణము. శుద్ధుడు ṣud-dhuḍu. n. A pure or holy man.
