(p. 132) inta inta. [Tel. ఇ+అంత] adj. This much, so large as this. ఇంతమట్టుకు thus far; as yet. ఇంతకు and beside all this. ఇంతలో meanwhile. ఇంతకుమున్ను, ఇంతకుపూర్వము heretofore. ఇక యింత this much more. ఇంతదాక all this while, thus far. ఇంత చెడ్డ so bad. ఇంతపొడుగు so long. ఇంతలు కన్నులు eyes so large. ఇంతలేసి పనులు such great works. నాలుగింతలు four times as much. ఇంతా అంతా కాదు it is vastly great, lit. it is not so much nor so much. వాడు పడ్డ ప్రయాసము ఇంతంతకాదు the trouble he is in is beyond telling. ఇంతంత దొంగకాడు he is no common rogue. ఇంతట intaṭa. adv. With this. ఇంతటిలో within this time. ఇంతటి such. ఇంతవట్టు inta-vaṭṭu. All this. ఇది అంతయును. ఇంతమాత్రము. ఇంతియ, or ఇంతె only this much; that's all ఇంతమాత్రమే, ఇంతియెగాని and notwithstanding all. ఇంతేకాకుండా and besides all this.

(p. 1121) vacanamu vachanamu. [Skt. from వచ్ to speak.] n. Speech, speaking. A word, మాట. A sentence. A dictum, an aphorism, a rule. ధర్మశాస్త్రములోని ప్రమాణ వాక్యము. Prose (as distinguished from metre) ఛందోబద్ధము కాకుండా మాటలుగా వ్రాసినది, గద్య. Number, in the grammatical sense, as ఏకవచనము the singular number, ద్వివచనము dual, and బహువచనము plural. వ్యాకరణములో ఏకవచనాదులు. వచస్సు vachassu. n. Speech, speaking. మాట. వచించు or వచియించు vachinṭsu. v. a. To say, speak, tell, relate. పలుకు.

(p. 1143) vaśamu vaṣamu. [Skt.] n. Possession, custody, charge. Subjection, submission, లోకువ, స్వాధీనము. Ability, authority, power, supremacy, ప్రభుత్వము, అధీనత్వము. అతని వశములో ఉన్నది it is in his charge or in his hands. 'ధనమువీధిబడినదైవవశంబున నుండు.' సమీరవశంబున carried by the wind, breeze-borne. ఆ యింటిని తమవశము చేసికొన్నాడు he took charge or possession of the house. నన్ను వశపరచుకొనలేకపోయినాడు he was unable to get me into his hands. అది నాకు వశము, లేక. అది నా వశాననున్నదా is it in my power to do so? కాలవశముచేత in the course of time, by the lapse of time. నాకు ఆకలి వశముకాకుండా ఉన్నది I cannot curb my appetite, I am excessively hungry. నా పుణ్యవశమున by my luck. వశ vaṣa. n. A wife, పెండ్లాము. A female elephant, ఆడుఏనుగు A barren cow, గొడ్డుటావు. వశంవదము vaṣam-vadamu. adj. Submissive, obedient. విధేయుడైన. వశంవదుడు vaṣam-vaduḍu. n. One who talks submissively, one who is submissive, విధేయుడు, లోకువయగునట్లు మాటలాడువాడు. వశత్వము vaṣatvamu. n. Obedience, submissiveness. M. XVI. i. 226. కాలవశత్వంబున by the course of time. వశపరచుకొను vasa-paratsu-konu. v. n. To take possession of, to take under one's control. వశాత్ or వశాతుగా vaṣāt. adv. Through, b in consequence of, in subjection to, over-powered by. గ్రహచారవశాత్తుగా through his bad luck. దైవవశాత్ by the finger of God. వశి vaṣi. n. A chaste man; one who has subdued his passions. ఇంద్రియ నిగ్రహముగలవాడు. వశీకరణము vaṣī-karaṇamu. n. The act of over powering, subduing, or inveigling by charms, spells or drugs. మందుమాకుల చేత స్వాధీనముచేసికొనుము, వశ్యముచేసుకొనడము. వశీకరించు vaṣī-karinṭsu. v. a. To subdue or over-power by means of charms, drugs, &c. వశ్యము vaṣyamu. adj. Dependant on, subject to, over-powered by charms, drugs, &c. స్వాధీనమైన, లోకువైన. వశ్యుడు vaṣyuḍu. n. A dependant, one who is submissive, obedient, or subject to, విధేయుడు, వశ్యురాలు vaṣyu-r-ālu. n. She who is submissive. విధేయురాలు. వశ్యౌషథము vaṣy-aushadhamu. n. Any medicine made use of to subject another to one's own will. A love-powder.

(p. 1164) vikalamu vikalamu. [Skt.] adj. Defective, imperfect, mutilated. Decayed, impaired. Confused, agitated, Withered, waning. విచ్ఛిన్నమైన, భగ్నమైన, చెడిన, కలుషమైన. 'అక్కురువృద్ధు జూడనార్తివికలుగుచు.' M. XV. i. 166. వికలత్వము or వికలత vikalatvamu. n. Confusion, agitation, decay. కలుషత్వము, శైథిల్యము. 'లావరియిప్పుడంగవికలత్వము పాటిలి.' P. i. 499. వికలాంగుడు vikal-ānguḍu. n. A cripple, one who is deformed or maimed. అంగహీనుడు. 'ఇట్లువికలాంగుండై పుట్టిన యనూరుండు.' M. I. ii. 8. వికిలితము vikalitamu. adj. Confused, confounded: decayed, impaired, withered. కలుషమైన, శిథిలమైన. 'ఏకరణివికలితాత్ముడు కాకుండుంబతి.' B. i. 535. వికలుడు vikaluḍu. n. A fool, one who is in confusion. కలత బారినమమనస్సుగలవాడు. 'వేగిరముననిలిచిభ్రాంతి వికలుండగుచున్.' P. ii. 152.

(p. 1169) vizjōḍu , వి౛్జోడుగానుండే or వి౛్జోడైన viḍz-dzōḍu. [Tel. వీడు+౛ోడు.] adj. Odd, not even, not a pair, discordant. ౛తకాకుండాఉండే. ౛ోడుకాని, సరికాని. 'సీ శ్రుతులువి౛్జోడైనచోదంత్రి బిగిసిరాబీడించి కిటకిటబిరడద్రిప్పు.' Vaijayanti. i. 86. వి౛్జోడుపడు viḍzdzōḍu-paḍu. v. n. To become discordant, to differ, భేదపడు.

(p. 1210) venu Same as వెన్ను. (q. v.) వెనుక, వెనక or వెన్క venuka. [Tel. from వెను.] n. The back part or side, the rear, పశ్చాద్బాగము. The front, ముందు. The west, పడమర. Indifference, ఉపేక్ష. adj. Behind or before (in place, order or time.) పశ్చాద్భాగముననున్న, ముందరనున్న. adv. and affix. Behind, after (in time or place.) Formerly, పశ్చాద్భాగమందు, తదనంతరము, లోగడ. Afterwards, పిమ్మట. దీనిని నావెనుక నాకొడుకులు అనుభవింపవలసినది after me this is to be enjoyed by my sons. ముందు వెనుకలు విచారించి మాట్లాడు Speak with much caution; lit: looking forwards and backwards. వెనుక ముందుతోచకుండా not knowing which way to turn. వెనుకసారి on the latter occasion. ఆ వెనుక (wrongly pronounced ఆనక) thereafter. వెనుకకు, వెనకకు, వెన్కకు or వెనక్కు venuka-ku. adv. To hang behind, to lag, fall back. వెనుకపడు. వెనుకచూపులమెకము venuka-tsūpula-mekamu. n. A bear. ఎలుగుబంటి. వెనుకటి or వెనకటి venukaṭi. adj. Former, previous. A younger brother, తమ్ముడు. The former man. The latter man, ముందరివాడు, ఇటీవలివాడు. వెనుకటివారు those who precede: also, those who come after. వెనుకదీయు venuka-dīyu. v. n. To retreat, draw off, fall back, hesitate. వెనుకకు మరలు, సంకోచించు. వెనుకద్రొక్కు venuka-drokku. v. n. To fall back, retreat. వెనుదీయు. వెనుకపడు venuka-paḍu. v. n. To be grieved, to be sorrowful, విషాదించు, ఖేదపడు. వెనుబాటు or వెన్బాటు venu-bāṭu. n. The act of grieving, the state of being sorrowful, grief, sorrow. వెనుబడుట, విషాదము, ఖేదము. వెనువెంట venu-venta. adv. Along with. మిక్కిలి వెంబడి.
