(p. 56) anubhāvamu anu-bhāvamu. [Skt.] n. Majesty, dignity, magnanimity. A positive conclusion, decision, firm opinion. Indication of passion or emotion by word or gesture. ప్రభావము, నిశ్చయము, భావబోధక ముఖవికాసాది. అనుభావ్యము anu-bhāvyamu. [Skt.] adj. that which may be enjoyed. అనుభవింపదగినది.

(p. 128) āsa āsa. Same as ఆశ. (q. v.) 'ఆసకుమేరలేదు కనకాద్రి సమానధనంబుకూర్చినన్ కాసును వెమటరాదు, కనికానక చేసిన పుణ్యపాపముల్ వీసరపోవు. ' ఆసచేయు or ఆసపడు or ఆసించు āṣachēyu. [Tel.] v. i. To desire. ఆశించు.

(p. 149) ukkina or ఉక్కిసము ukkisa. [Tel.] n. Asthma, gasping for breath. ఉబ్బసము. ఎగ ఊపిరి, కాసము. Dry cough. పొడిదగ్గు.

(p. 160) unmēṣamu un-mēshamu. [Skt.] n. Opening blowing as a flower. వికాసము. నవనవోనేషముగా with increasing delight.

(p. 163) upahāramu upa-hāramu. [Skt.] n. A complimentary present. కాసుక.

(p. 172) uvvāyi uvvāyi. [Tel.] n. Cheerfulness, joy. వికాసము.

(p. 223) kaṅgōru kangōru. [Tel.] n. A long waist band. నిడుపుకాసె.

(p. 237) katti katti. [Tel.] n. A knife. A sword. తీసినకత్తితీరు బిత్తలియై నిలిచినది she stood as a drawn sword. A measure of land, which differs in various districts. It is considered to be as much as a man can reap in one day. In the Government accounts a 'cutty' is rated at 40 acres and 14 గుంటలు (q. v.) This phrase, which means a 'sword of land' implies that this quantity of land was assigned to a family which furnished the feudal lord one fighting man. కత్తికట్టేదొర katti-kaṭṭē-dora. An officer, a gentleman who wears a sword. కత్తికాసు katti-kāsu. n. A carpenter's tool for squaring. కత్తిపిట్టి katti-piṭṭa. The Cuckoo called Hierococcyx varius. చిన్న కత్తిపిట్ట The Indian plaintive cuckoo, Cacomantis passcrinus. (F.B.I.) కత్తిపిడిక a basket in which a toddy drawer keeps his knives ఈండ్రవాని కత్తుల బుట్ట. కత్తిపీట katti-pīṭa. n. A large knife standing slantwise in a block of wood upon which vegetables are sliced. కత్తిబళ్లెము katti ballemu. A 'sword spear,' a scythe-like blade mounted as a spear.

(p. 241) kanucāṭu kanu-ṭsāṭu. [Tel.] n. Being out of sight, privacy. కనుచాటుగానుండిరి they were in concealment. ఇది అంతా కాస్త కనుచాటుగా నుండవలెను this should be kept somewhat private.

(p. 256) kalabanda kalabanda. [Tel.] n. The aloeplant. The Barbadoes aloe, The Indian aloe, Aloe vera. రాకాసికలబంద the American aloe. Agave americana. పెద్దకలబంద or ఎరికతాళి (Bellary) the Bastard Aloe, Agave vivipara. చిన్నకలబంద Aloc litto-ralis. ఈనెకలబంద Aloa officinalis (Watts). కలబందగుంజు the pulp of the aloe.

(p. 264) kasinda or కసినింద kasinda. [Tel.] n. A species of Cassia or Senna. The Negro Coffee tree, Cassia occidentalis. నూతికసింద, or పైడితంగేడు, or తగరచెట్టు, Cassia Sophora (Watts.) A. vi. 12. కొండకసింద the plant called Prickly Scopolia. Ainsl. ii. 200. కాసమర్దము, మిరపగాండ్ర. Rox. i. 617. ii. 342, 346.

(p. 267) kācu kāṭsu. [Tel. from కాగు.] v. n. To be hot; to shine, as the sun or moon. To be hot as fever. To wait, dangle in attendence. నాకు జ్వరముకాచినది I had the fever on me. కొంచెము జ్వరముకాస్తున్నది there is a little fever. చలికాచుకొనుట to bask or sit by the fireside, or to warm oneself. ఎండకాస్తున్నది there is sunshine. ఆ చింతచెట్టు కాయడములేదు that tamarind tree does not bear. To wait for, attend on నాకొరకు కాచుకొన్నాడు he is waiting for me. అతని వద్ద మూడు ఏండ్లు కాచుకొని యుంటిని I was in attendance on his for three years. కాచు v. a. To boil; to heat, to warm. To bear fruit. కాగజేయు. ఆ ఊరంతా కాచి వడపోసినాడు lit. he has boiled and strained off the town, i.e., he has made himself master of the whole town. తేనీళ్లుకాచు to make tea. బెల్లము కాచడము sugar making. రాత్రి అంతా వారికి కాచడము కట్టడముతో సరిపోయినది the whole night was passed in fomenting and binding up the limbs.

(p. 274) kāyu kāyu. [Tel.] v. n. To shine as the sun or moon. ఇప్పుడు ఎండ కాస్తున్నది there is sunshine now. వెన్నెలకాస్తున్నది there is moonlight. కాయు (another form of కాచు.) v. a. To tend cattle. To spare or acquit. నేను ఇంతపని చేసి ఉంటే నన్ను కాయవద్దు if I have done this, spare me not.
