(p. 47) adhōmukhamu adhō-mukhamu. [Skt.] n. The face turned downwards: a downcast countenance. కిందికి వంచుకొని యుండే మొగము. అధోముఖముగా adv. With the face turned downwards, with a downcast countenance; headlong. తలవంచుకొని, తలక్రిందుగా. దివిటీని అధో ముఖముగా పట్టినాడు he held the torch with the flame downwards. అధోముఖుడు [Skt.] n. He who is downcast. ashamed or crest fallen. అతడు అధోముఖుడై ఉండెను he hung his head.

(p. 281) kindu or క్రిందు kindu. [Tel.] n. The ground. కింద kinda. (a postposition) Below, under. Beautiful, handsome. అందమైన. కొమరుమిగుల gracefully., కొమరార finely. కొమరారు komar-āru. v. n. To bloom. కొమరాలు komar-ālu. n. A young woman యౌవనస్త్రీ కొమరితనము or కొమరుపాయము youth. యౌవనము. కొమరుడు or కొమారుడు komarudu. n. A son. కొడుకు. కొమరులు or కొమరకొయ్యలు komarulu. n. Bressumers or Brest summers, that is, forked pieces of wood used in buildings. ఇంటి వెన్ను పట్టెకిందికురుంజులు, మేలు దూలముమీది గు౛్జులు. కొమర్తె or కొమారి komārte. n. A daughter. పెండ్లికొమార్తె a bride. [The Skt. కుమారుడు+కుమారి are apparently derived from this Dravidian root.]

(p. 892) burada burada. [Tel.] n. Mud. అడుసు. పంకము. బురకమ్మి burada-kammi. n. A stepping stone, a threshold or plank at a door. గడపకిందికమ్మి. బురదగుంట burada-gunṭa. n. A puddle. గేదెలుపొర్లేగుంట. బురదదుక్కి burada-dukki. n. Ploughing in an irrigated field. ఊడ్చుటకు సిద్ధము చేసినపొలము. బురదపాము burada-pāmu. n. A water-snake. నీరుపాము.

(p. 911) bōde , or బోదియ bōde. [Tel.] n. The trunk of a tree, ప్రకాండము. The bulging part of anything. The pediment or chapter of a pillar, స్తంభముమీద దూలముకిందనుండేది. Also, a runnel or small channel for watering trees. మళ్లకుకట్టేకాలువ. 'పూచిన యొక్క పోకమనుబోదియజేరి.' Swa. ii. 33. 'అరుగులుసున్నంపుటెరమంటి పట్టెలుతీర్చినగోడలుతేజరిల్ల. నిండుసున్న పుపూతనెరచాలుబోదెలు దిద్దినదేవరమిద్దెవర.' H. i. 167. 'మిద్దెలో బోదియమీదనున్న తలపొందుగదీసుకరమ్మటంచు.' ib. i.224. బోదెకొయ్య a piece of wood for a doorstep, గడపకిందికమ్మి.

(p. 1001) muḍḍi muḍḍi. [Tel.] n. The breech, rump, anus. వానిని ముడ్డివెనుక తిట్టినారు they reviled him behind his back. ముడ్డిమీద కొట్టితే నోటిపండ్లు రాలెను (i.e., పృష్ఠతాడనాత్ దంతభఙ్గః the teeth were dislodged by a slap on the back. ముడ్డికిందికి నీళ్లు వచ్చుట to get into a scrape. దీపము ముడ్డి కిందచీకటి under the lamp it is dark., i.e., roguery hides under the judgement seat. వాని ముడ్డివెంట తిరుగుచున్నారు they are dancing attendance upon him. ముడ్డి తిప్పుడుపిట్ట muḍḍi-tippuḍu-piṭṭa. n. The Grey Wag-tail, Motacilla melanope (F.B.I.) ముడ్డిపూస muḍḍi-pūsa. n. The rump bone. వెన్నెముకచవరిపూస.

To increase, అతిశయించు. v. a. A bright eyed woman; lit: a long-eyed girl. దీర్ఘములైనకన్నులుగల స్త్రీ, ఆయతాక్షి, విశాలాక్షి. వాలుగడుపు or వాల్గడుపు vālu-gaḍupu. n. A projecting or protuberant belly, బొ౛్జ. వాలుగొమ్ము a canal or sluice. వాలుచు or వాల్చు vāluṭsu. v. a. To bend, incline, slant. కిందికివంచు. To cut off, కోసివేయు. రెప్పవాలుచు to droop the eye-lids, i.e., to close the eyes. రాత్రిఅంతా కన్నులు వాల్చలేదు I did not close my eyes all night. ఆ మంచమును వాల్చినాడు he slanted the couch. 'వాలినకిన్కమైవాలు నీవాడి; వాలువజిహ్వలువాలుతుననిన, జందనగంధులు జలమురెట్టింప.' HD. i. 947. టీ వాలిన, వచ్చిన, కిన్కమై, కోపమువల్ల; వాలు, దీర్ఘమైన; ఈ వాడివాలున, ఈ తీక్ష్ణ ఖడ్గముచేతను; జిగ్వలు, నాలుకలను; ఈ తీక్ష్ణ ఖడ్గముచేతను; జిహ్వలు, నాలుకలను; వాలుతుననిన, కోసివేతుననేటప్పటికి. వాలుచుక్క or వాల్చుక్క vālu-ṭsukka. n. The planet Venus or its regent. శుక్రుడు. 'పొలుపొంద తూర్పున బొడిచెవాల్చుక్క.' Sar. D. 558. వాలుచేప vālu-chēpa. n. A kind of fish called Chirocentius nudius. మత్స్యవిశేషము. వాలుడు vāluḍu. adj. Hanging down. వాలుడుకొమ్మలు branches that hang down. n. A kind of tree. ఎర్రవాలుడు the red kind. వాలుడుచెక్క the bark of this tree used in medicine. వాలుడుతైలము the oil extracted from this bark. 'కోరివాలుడుతైలంబు గ్రోలువారు.' P. i. 725. వాలుపు or వాల్పు valupu. n. Bending down, వాల్చుట. వాలుప్రొద్దు vālu-pṛoddu. n. The morning or evening sun, లేతప్రొద్దు, అపరాహ్ణము, వాలుమగడు vālamagaḍu. n.
