(p. 267) kāki kāki. [Tel. lit that which says kā, kā.] n. A crow. అడవికాకి the jungle crow or Corvus macrorhynchus. మంచి కాకి or ఊరకాకి the Indian house crow, corvus splendens. (F.B.I.) This word sometimes denotes depreciation as కాకి బంగారు false gold, tinsel. కాకిదొండపండు the wild cherry. దేశకాకి, or దేశమ్మకాకి a wandering wretch or vagrant. సముద్రపుకాకి an osprey. నీరుకాకి a cormorant. ఇనుపముక్కు కాకి the giant vulture or king of the vultures. మూలకాకి a raven. బొంతకాకి a raven. కాకిచంపు విత్తులు kāki-champu-vittulu. Same as కాకమారి (q. v.) కాకిచావు kāki-ṭsāsu. n Apoplexy, sudden death. కాకిచిప్ప kaki chippa. n. A bivalve shell. కాకిచెమ్మలు or కాకితీపు or కాకిసోమాల or కాకిసొమ్మ kāki-chemmalu. n. Fainting, epilepsy. కాకబాతు kāki-bātu. n. A brown species of wild duck. కాకిరెక్కలు kāki-rekkalu. n. The grain called millet. కాకివెదురు kāki-veduru. n. A reed.

(p. 272) kāpēyamu kāpēyamu. [Skt. from కపి.] adj. Simian, pertaining to monkeys. n. Monkeyhood; the state of being like a monkey. కవిత్వము. 'పలుమరుకాపేయంబున దలపకపలికెదవు.' BRK. 243. 'భూపుత్రియునికిదలపకకాపేయముచేసి స్వామి ఘాతడనైతిన్.' BR. Sundra 553.

(p. 609) doṇḍa donḍa. [Tel.] n. The plant called Bryonia or Bimba. దొండపండు the ripe fruit which is glossy and of a bright scarlet colour. కాయదొండ Bryonia grandis, (Wild.) Momordica monadelpha. Rox. iii. 708. తీగదొండ. Bryonia umbellata. ib. 711. ఆరెందొండ, ఆదొండ or ఆరుదొండ Capparis zeylanica or Cāpparis horrida. లింగదొండ Bryonia laciniosa. (Watts.) కాకిదొండ. Trichosanthes palanata. Rox. iii. 704. కైదొండ or కాకిదొండ Cephalandra indica. కుంకుమ దొండ Bryonia pilosa. బ్రహ్మదొండ is a large sort of thistle with a red fruit. (Watts.)

(p. 950) madhyamu madhyamu. [Skt.] n. The middle, the waist, the middle part. నడుము, నడిమి భాగము. adj. Middle, that which is in the middle, centric; mean, as opposed to extreme. Middling, that is neither good nor bad, poor, indifferent. నడితరము, నడుమనుండే. మధ్యపువెండి inferior silver, much alloyed. మధ్య madhya. n. A girl of from 13 to 18 years of age. To increase, అతిశయించు. v. a. A bright eyed woman; lit: a long-eyed girl. దీర్ఘములైనకన్నులుగల స్త్రీ, ఆయతాక్షి, విశాలాక్షి. వాలుగడుపు or వాల్గడుపు vālu-gaḍupu. n. A projecting or protuberant belly, బొ౛్జ. వాలుగొమ్ము a canal or sluice. వాలుచు or వాల్చు vāluṭsu. v. a. To bend, incline, slant. కిందికివంచు. To cut off, కోసివేయు. రెప్పవాలుచు to droop the eye-lids, i.e., to close the eyes. రాత్రిఅంతా కన్నులు వాల్చలేదు I did not close my eyes all night. ఆ మంచమును వాల్చినాడు he slanted the couch. 'వాలినకిన్కమైవాలు నీవాడి; వాలువజిహ్వలువాలుతుననిన, జందనగంధులు జలమురెట్టింప.' HD. i. 947. టీ వాలిన, వచ్చిన, కిన్కమై, కోపమువల్ల; వాలు, దీర్ఘమైన; ఈ వాడివాలున, ఈ తీక్ష్ణ ఖడ్గముచేతను; జిగ్వలు, నాలుకలను; ఈ తీక్ష్ణ ఖడ్గముచేతను; జిహ్వలు, నాలుకలను; వాలుతుననిన, కోసివేతుననేటప్పటికి. వాలుచుక్క or వాల్చుక్క vālu-ṭsukka. n. The planet Venus or its regent. శుక్రుడు. 'పొలుపొంద తూర్పున బొడిచెవాల్చుక్క.' Sar. D. 558. వాలుచేప vālu-chēpa. n. A kind of fish called Chirocentius nudius. మత్స్యవిశేషము. వాలుడు vāluḍu. adj. Hanging down. వాలుడుకొమ్మలు branches that hang down. n. A kind of tree. ఎర్రవాలుడు the red kind. వాలుడుచెక్క the bark of this tree used in medicine. వాలుడుతైలము the oil extracted from this bark. 'కోరివాలుడుతైలంబు గ్రోలువారు.' P. i. 725. వాలుపు or వాల్పు valupu. n. Bending down, వాల్చుట. వాలుప్రొద్దు vālu-pṛoddu. n. The morning or evening sun, లేతప్రొద్దు, అపరాహ్ణము, వాలుమగడు vālamagaḍu. n.
