(p. 19) akkaḍa akkaḍa. [Tel. from అ+కడ = that place.] adv. There. ఆ స్థలమందు. అక్కడి of that place. అక్కడక్కడ here and there. అక్కడికిన్నీ సమ్మతించనందున as he would not even yet consent.

(p. 77) ayyu or అయ్యుడు ayyu. [Tel. from అయి+యు conj. (from అగు] Although. అయినప్పటికిన్ని. నిర్మలుడయ్యు though he be pure.

(p. 203) aina aina. [Tel. for అయిన. relative p of అగు] p. p. 1. Being, existing. One who or which is or has become. యజమానుడైన రామయ్య Ramaya who was (his) master. Becoming, suitable, fit; అయిన గుణములు proper principles. అయిన దినము a fit day. అయిన వడ్డి the interest that accumulated. వాకయిన మనిషి my friend. As a conjunction it is thus used ఐన or అయినా or అయినను but though it were so, yet, వాడయినా వీడయినా be it that man or this, either one or the other. It is added to interrogatives as ఎక్కడ. &c., and it gives a strong emphasis as ఎక్కడనైనా wheresoever. ఎవ్వడయినా whosoever. ఎప్పుడయినా whenever. రెండుకోసులయినా at least two miles. ఎవ్వడైననేమి never mind who it was. It turns nouns into adjectives as సొగసైన pretty, having elegance. Else-where it is translated who is (and is added to adjective nouns, thus) కవి అయిన భీమన the poet Bhīmana. విద్వాంసుడైన కవి a poet who is a man of learning. Thus also in the plural ధనికులైన వర్తకులు merchants who are rich. ఐనను or ఐనప్పటికిన్ని although. but, అందుకు అయిన క్రమము the price of that. నాకైనను even to me మేనల్లుడైన అంతఃకరణవల్ల through the affection arising from his being a nephew. ఐనట్టయితే See ఐతే. మీది అయినట్టయితే should it be yours. ఐనప్పటికిన్ని conj. When it is so, even then, nevertheless, still, yet.

(p. 205) oṇṭu onṭu. [Tel.] n. A share, division. A village community గ్రామసమూహము. A unit in numeration. సారెని ఒంటు the place or square in which a counter stands in a game at draughts. ఒంటు or ఒంటుబావిలి. n. A sort of ear-ring worn by by men. పురుషులకర్ణభూషణము. ఒంటు v. i. To agree with one's health, to be wholesome or salubrious. ఇముడు, అనుకూలించు. To touch, to go near, to approach చేరు. ఆ దేశానికిన్ని ఈ దేశమునకున్ను ఒంటక ఆశక్తముగానున్నది or అక్కడి నీళ్లకును ఇక్కడి నీళ్లకును. ఒంటనందున వానికి ఒళ్లు కుదురులేదు his health suffered from change of water, (change of air.) See on నీళ్లు. ఒంటుకొను onṭu-konu. v. i. To touch, go near. తాకు. చేరు.

(p. 230) kaṭōlavīṇe kaṭōla-vīṇe. [Tel.] n. A stringed musical instrument like the vīṇe. మాలవీణె, కిన్నెర.

The body. అతడు చచ్చినప్పటికిన్ని బహుధర్మాత్ముడని పేరుపడి యశఃకాయముతో యిప్పిటికిన్ని జీవించుచున్నాడు though he is dead, through his reputation for charity he still lives in his fame. కాయము [Tel.] n. A certain restorative medicine, administered to a woman in childbed. బాలెంతలకిచ్చే మందు. H. i. 114. కాయపుష్టి kāyapushṭi. n. Stoutness. కాయసిద్ధి corporeal perfection imagined to be attainable by religious austerities. కాయసిద్ధుడై ఉన్నాడు he bears a charmed life.

(p. 283) kinnaruḍu kinnaruḍu. [Skt.] n. A fairy, a celestial chorister. కిన్నరకంటి fairy-eyed: lovely. Suca. iii. 98. కిన్నరేశుడు Kubera or the lord of కిన్నరులు.

(p. 283) kinnera or కిన్నర kinnera. [Tel.] n. A lute. A sort of guitar. కిన్నెరకాయలు the large dried pumpkins that are fixed to the frame of a Hindu lute. కిన్నెరపట్టచెట్టు the fiddle-bark-tree.

(p. 310) kēru or కేరించు kēru. [Tel.] v. n. To warble. To crow, as a babe. To chuckle with pleasure. To giggle. To cluck, as a laying hen. To make a low inarticulate sobbing sound expressive of joy or grief. కూయు. అరచు, గద్దస్వరముచేయు. To deride or scorn పరిహాసముచేయు, తిరస్కరించు. To do చేయు. To rejoice ఉత్సహించు, కుతూహలపడు; to be proud విజృంభించు. v. t. To slight తిరస్కరించు. To deride పరిహసించు. Looseness, i.e., lewdness. జ్వరమునకు తెరపి చిక్కినది there was an intermission of the fever. తెరపలగా or తెరపతెరపగా loosely, here and there, scatteredly. వాన తెరపి యియ్యలేదు the rain did not cease. తరవ. adj. Open, సంధుగల. తెరసమాటలు down-rightness, plain speaking, plain language. తెరపుమరపు or తెరుపుమరుపు terapu-marapu. n. Dementation. మతితప్పి నప్పుడు కలుగు తబ్బిబ్బు. Sense and nonsense: absence of mind, forgetfulness. ఎవరికిన్ని తెరుపుమరుపుకద్దు every man has his wise and foolish fits.

(p. 574) daṇṭu danṭu. [Tel.] n. A stalk of such plants as cholam. Pith. బెండ్లదంట్లు hay, sapless stalks. దంటునమలు to chew cholam stalks. దంట్లకిన్నెర a certain game among boys. అరిటిదంటు the pith of a plantain tree. దంటుకూర danṭu-kūra. n. A kind of gree vegetable the stalks of which are eaten.
