(p. 21) akṣaramu aksharamu. [Skt. lit Eternal. imperishable.] n. A letter, a single syllable, a character of the alphabet, hand writing. A single syllable, whether of one letter or more. Thus the word సంస్కృతం Sam-skru-tam is termed a word of three letters. ఏకాక్షరము a monosyllable. సంయుక్తాక్షరము two or more letters united in one syllable, as స్త్రీ wherein four letters are united. త్య్రక్షరి try-ak-shari; the sacred or mystic syllable (ఓం AUM, or O'M a name of the Deity) that contains three letters. అక్షరజ్ఞుడు a man of letters. అక్షరాభ్యాసము beginning to learn the alphabet or the first principles of a language; మంత్రాక్షరము a cypher of syllable used in magic. ఇది ఆయన అక్షరము కాదు this is not his handwriting. నీవద్ద అప్పుగా తీసుకొన్న రూ 300 అక్షరాల మున్నూరు రూపాయీలు i.e., 'Rs. 300 (three hundred Rupees.)' here the same sum is denoted in writing as well as in figures. వాడు నిరక్షరకుక్షి he is an illiterate man. వానికి నోట్లో అక్షరాలు లేచియున్నవి his mouth is inflammed. అక్షరవిన్యాసము, the array of letters, writing.

(p. 290) kukṣi kukshi. [Skt.] n. Stomach, కడువు Hunger జఠరము. కుక్షింభరి kukshim-bhari. n. A glutton. పొట్టనింపుకొనువాడు, తిండిపోతు. కుక్షింభరిత్వము kukshim-bharitvamu. n. Gluttony.

(p. 334) krālu krālu. [Tel.] v. n. To wave. అల్లలాడు. To turn round and round. గిరగిరతిరుగు. To spread about చెదరు. To wander or roam about సంచరించు. To move about సంచలించు. To rejoice సంభ్రమించు. To behave ప్రవర్తిల్లు. To be long, oblong, or elongated. 'ఉ కాలినమోడువంటి కొరగాని శరీరము పల్లవెండ్రుకల్, గ్రాలెడుబూచిగడ్డమునుఖలల్ నటకంబ ున నీరెలుంగనున్ బేలగుమూఢవాక్యములు బీదనరంబుల తోడికుక్షియ ున్, దూలెడుక్రదంతములు నోరుముగల్గి యొకండు పుట్టినన్.' V. P. ii. 143. iii. 25. To shine, to be clear, to extend as a ray. To hang, dangle, as a necklace A. v. 121. BD. iv. 1589. ప్రకాశించు. క్రాలుకంటి or క్రాల్గంటి a woman who has beautiful eyes.

(p. 536) tuṇḍamu tundamu. [Skt.] n. The belly, కడుపు, ఉదరము, కుక్షి. తుంది tundi. adj. Potbellied. బొజ్జకడుపుగలవాడు. తుందిలము tundilamu. n. A sort of vegetable, Bignonia indica. మండూకపర్ణము. తుందిలుడు or తుండిలుడు tundiluḍu. adj. Bigbellied, pot-bellied. దయాతుందిలుడు one who has bowels of compassion.

(p. 582) dari dari. [Tel.] n. A bound, line, limit. A shore, or side. గట్టు, మేర. A refuge, a place of safety. 'నాకు ఒకదరి చూపవే నారాయణా.' (నారాయణశతకము.) Nearness, సమీపము. దరిమేరలేనిబాధ boundless grief. ఇంటిదరిని close to the house. [Skt.] n. A cave, cavern, grotto. గుహ. దరిగా dari-gā. adv. Aside, apart, at hand, hard by. దరిచేరు dari-chēru. v. n. To succeed or 'reach the shore,' to go to heaven. To be finished. దరితేలిన dari-tēlina. adj. Terminated, ended. కడతేరిన దరికొను dari-konu. v. n. To catch fire, be ignited. మండు, కాలు. కుక్షిదరికొన్నపట్టున when the belly is inflamed with hunger. దరికొలుపు or దరికొల్పు dari-kolupu. v. a. To set on fire, to kindle. తగలబెట్టు.
