(p. 184) eḍa eḍa. [Tel.] n. Place, space, చోటు; Interval, medium distance. చోటు, అవకాశము, దూరము. An interval of time గడువు. Breach or obstacle విఘ్నము. Business వ్యవహారము. Tender, young, లేత. Middle నడుమ. ఎడదూడ a weaned (i.e., separated) calf. కోడియెడ a chicken. ఎడబిడ్డ the last but one child. తొంటియెడ in the former place. ఎడపోవువాడు a gobetween. BD. iii. 737. ఎడలేకున్న continuous, without interval or break. ఎడను or ఎడల regarding, concerning, of, about. నాయెడ towards me. గురునియెడ towards the teacher. ఇడినయెడ on giving, కానియెడ if it is not so. మియడవాయెడ towards you and me. ఇట్లప్పురంబు చేరునెడ on arrival at the town. ఎడగాపెట్టు to set aside, reserve. ఎడకట్టు eḍa-kaṭṭu. v. n. To find a place for itself. To gather or form as a boil ఆరినపుండు మరల చీముపట్టు, చేర్చు. ఎడకత్తె eḍa-katte. n. A bawd. ఎడకాడు eḍa-kāḍu n. A go-between, a pimp. ఎడకారు eḍa-kāru. n. An untimely crop, a crop produced out of season' before the rains. వ్యత్యయకృషి. ఎడకారుగా పుట్టిన forced, grown out of season, succedaneous.

(p. 198) ēdu or ఏదువంది ēdu. [Tel.] n. A procupine. ముండ్లపంది. One species is called కోడియేదు but in the south it is called ఒంటరికాడు. HD. i. 512. ఏదుపెరికినట్లు or ఏదుపంది ముండ్లు తీసినట్లు like pulling out the porcupines quills. ఏదువాసన a disgusting smell like that of a porcupine. cf. 'It stinks like a badger.' ఏదుకర్రలవంకెలు (H. iv. 159.) a sort of grain. ఏదుగడ్డి ēdu-gaḍḍi. n. Andropagon contortus, or the Spear grass. (Watts.) ఏదువేట ēdu-vēṭa. n. A kind of chase. వేటలో నొక భేదము.

(p. 263) kaṣāyamu kashāyamu. [Skt.] n. A decoction. An extract. An infusion prepared by boiling or evaporation. adj. Red brown or yellowish red. కషాయాంబరము cloth dyed red. పిచ్చికకషాయము sparrow broth. కోడికషాయము chicken broth. కషాయముకాచు to make an infusion or decoction.

A season, time of the year. కాలము. చిన్నకారు childhood, youth. తొలికారు the opening of the year. కారు మెరుపు or తొలికరుమెరుపు or క్రొక్కారు మెరుంగు vernal lightning తొలివానకాలపు మెరుపు. నవకారు Spring. ఈ సంవత్సరములో ముక్కారులున్ను పండినవి the three seasons have yielded crops this year. ఒక కారు కోడిపిల్లలను అమ్మివేసినాను I have sold one brood of chickens. నాలుగు కారులగిత్త a heifer four years old. కారు కాలము, ఫలకాము harvest time. కారు పంట, a crop that depends on the rain. వర్షాకాలమందు నీరాసరానుపండే పల్లపుపంట, కారువడ్లు rice grown in the hot season, ఎండకాలమందు పండే వరి ధాన్యము. కారువాయిధర price current of grain at the time of reaping. A plough-share. పటుకారు or నీరుకారు tongs, a pair of pincers. Darkness, jetty blackness. నలుపు, చీకటి. కారుకమ్మెను darkness came on. A forest కారుచిచ్చు wild or forest fire. The plu. కారులు, అనగా వదరులు hard language; reviling. పరుషవచనము; vain talk వ్యర్థవచనము. కారులు lies అబద్ధములు. A stain కర్రు. Ignorance అజ్ఞానము.

A fowl, a bird. కోళ్లు poultry, fowls. సీమకోడి a foreign fowl. i.e., a turkey, or Guinea fowl. పిల్లలకోడి a brood hen. కక్కెరకోడి the red painted partridge, Pernix Picta. ఎర్రకోడి the red spur-fowl, Francolinus Spadiccus. చిమిటి కోడి the painted spur-fowl. Cockfighting. కోడిపట్టి kōḍi-paṭṭi. n. A game called 'hen and chickens.' కోడిపిల్ల kōḍi-pilla. n A chicken. కోడి పుం౛ు kōḍi-punza. n. A cook. A blind abject wretch. గుడ్లగూబ guḍla-gūba. n. An owl.

(p. 411) cikkuḍu chikkuḍu. [Tel.] n. The bean called Dolichos lablab. చిక్కుడుకాయ the pod of this plant. Different species of this are called ఎర్రచిక్కుడు, తెల్లచిక్కుడు, గోరుచిక్కుడు, అనచిక్కుడు, ఏనుగుచిక్కుడు, కోడిచిక్కుడు, తొండచిక్కుడు, ఉలనచిక్కుడు and సానచిక్కుడు.
