The voice, a tone కంఠధ్వని. గొంతుపట్టినది I am chocked, i.e., I do not know what to say. నా గొంతురాసినది I am hoarse. వానిగొంతుకమ్మినది he is hoarse. గొంతుకపోక or గొంతునబడి gontuka-pōka. n. The apple of the throat. గొంతుకూర్చుండు gontu-kūrṭsunḍu. v. n. To squat down on one's heels. గొంతుకోత gontu-kōṭa. n. A cutthroat business. A brawl, a quarrel. గొంతెమగోరుచెట్టు gontema-gōru-cheṭṭu. n. A plant, Paederia foetida. సారణి, లంజె. సవరము. గొంతెమ్మ gontemma n. The name of a certain rural goddess. గొంతెమ్మకోరికలు gontemma-kōrikalu. n. Whimsical speculations, castles in the air. కోరదగనికోరికలు, వెర్రిమూచనలు.

(p. 788) peḍa peḍa. [Tel.] adj. Large. పెద్ద. Hinder, back, behind. వెనుకటి. Wrong, erroneous, audacious, విపరీతము. పెడయుక్తులు wicked devices. పెడతల the back of the head, తలవెనుకటిభాగము. పెడకోరికలు wrong wishes. పెడదారి a wrong way, తప్పుదారి. పెడచెయ్యి the back of the hand, మీజెయ్యి. సెడర్థము a wrong sense. పెడబొబ్బలు a dreadful yell. పెడకచ్చ the back tuck of the modesty piece. పెడరెక్కలు విరిచికట్టు to pinion. పెడక peḍaka. n. The back part or haft of a knife, కత్తియొక్క వెనుకటి భాగము. పెడకంటివారు peḍa-kanṭi-vāru.n. The name of a certain subdivision of Kāpu caste.' పంటమోటాటి పెడకంటి పానాటి.' H. iv. 171. పెడకట్టె or పెడసరకట్టె peda-katte. n. A stubborn person, మూర్ఖుడు, మూర్ఖురాలు. పెడకట్లు peḍa-katlu. n. Tying the hands behind the back, చేతులను వెనుకకు విరిచికట్టుట పెడకాలు peḍa-kālu. n. A leg folded backwards, వెనుకకు మడిచినకాలు పెడకేలు peḍa-kēlu. n. An arm bent backwards. పెడకేలుకట్టు peḍakēlu-kaṭṭu. v. a. To pinion, పెడరెక్కలు విరిచికట్టు. 'పెడకేలుగట్టిన ప్రియసుతు గాంచి.' SD. v. 419. పెడచెవి peḍa-chevi. n. The back part of the ear, చెవివెనుకటిభాగము. నామాటలు పెడచెవిని బెట్టినాడు he turned a deaf ear to my words. పెడనెల peḍa-nela. n. A clever or skilful man, తీర్పరి (obsolete.) పెడబాయు peḍa-bāyu. v. n. To be separated, ఎడబాయు. 'వల్లభులు ప్రాణవిభుంబెడబాయనేర్తురే.' Parij. iv. 60. పెడబాపు peḍa-bāpu. v. a. To separate, &c. ఎడబాపు. M. XII. v. 87. పెడమరలు, పెడమరు or పెడమర్లు peḍa-maralu. v. n. To turn back, వెనుకకు తిరుగు. పెడమర్లు peḍa-marlu. n. Turning back, fleeing. వెనుకకు తిరుగుట. పెడమరించు peḍa-marintsu. v. a. To cause to turn back, వెనుకకుత్రిప్పు. పెడమల్లె peḍa-malle. n. A kind of Jasmine tree. H. iv. 21. పెడమోము or పెడము peḍa-mōmu. n. The face turned away. పెడమోముపడు peḍa-mōmu-paḍu. v. n. To be turned away, as the face. పెడరేచు peḍa-rēṭsu. v. a. To goad, instigate, egg on, పురికొలుపు.

(p. 816) pō pō. (The infinitive of పోవు) అతడు పోజూచి seeing that he was gone. పో pō. (Imperative of పోవు.) v. n. Go, పొమ్ము. In many places this is a mere expletive, as Go to. (in English). It denotes certainty or disregard, నిశ్చయమును లేక ఆనాదరమును తెలుపును. 'తెచ్చెదంబో వసుదేవమాను.' ఉ. హరి. v. పోక pōka. n. Going. పోవడము. Conduct, behaviour, నడవడి. పోకలు n. plu. Evil ways, wickedness. పోకరింతనములు Foolish wishes, or longings, ముద్దుకోరికలు. 'పల్పోకశృంగారములు.' (T. iii. 81.) very naughty pranks. పోకరిసొగసులు నీవుపోయినదే పోకా are you to be indulged in every thing? వారేమి అదేపోక పోయిరి I am surprised that they did not come back. పోక pōka. for పోవక(neg. p. of పోవు.) Without going. Also for పోకు, i.e., పోవద్దు don't go. (the final A being intensive.) పోకడ pō-kaḍa. n. Going, departure, going off. గమనము, గతి Behaviour, conduct, నడత, ప్రవర్తనము. Riddance. Ruin, నాశము. నెలదినాలుగా రాకడపోకడలేదు there has been no inter course between us for a month (literally going and coming.) పోకడపెట్టు pōkaḍa-peṭṭu. v. a. To drive away, to remove, పోగొట్టు. To sell, అమ్ము. విక్రయించు. దాన్ని ఎట్లైనను పోకడపెట్టు get rid of it in any way. పోకలాడి pōkal-āḍi. (పోకలు+ఆడి) n. A coquette, వగలాడి. 'క చూపట్ట గోమయంబున, జేపట్టొనరించి జడల జెక్కినలింగం, బాపోకలాడి కైకొని వేపికడన్నిలిపిభక్తివివశయు బోలెన్.' S. ii. 49. పోకలాడు pōkal-āḍu. v. n. To be coquettish, to flirt. పోకాడు pōkāḍu. (పోక+ఆడు.) v. n. To go, పోవు. To be done away with, to be destroyed, నశించు. పోకార్చు pōkārṭsu. v. a. To lose, పోగొట్టు, పోగొట్టుకొను. To destroy, ruin. 'రఘుకుమారుడరివర్గము పోకార్చి.' R. iii. 137. పోకాలు pōkālu. v. n. To go, as anger, sorrow, &c. పోవు. పోకరి pōkiri. n. A wicked man, a villain rogue, lewd fellow, blackguard, దుర్మార్గుడు adj. Naughty, wicked, mischievous, unprincipled. పోకరిమాట an obsence word. పోకిళ్లు pōkiḷḷu. n. plu. Idle wishes, fopperies, whims, freaks, whimsies. పోకిళ్లమారి a fop, an epicure.
