(p. 82) arugu arugu. [Tel.] v. n. To go, pass, proceed, walk. To digest as food. To be worn away by being used or rubbed; waste away. వెళ్లు, జీర్ణమగు, క్షీణించు, క్షయించు. అరగతీయు araga-tīyu. v. a. To rub off. అరుగుడు aruguḍu. n. The act of wearing away; attrition శిథిలము అరుగుదెంచు or అరుదెంచు arugu-denṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To come. వచ్చు. To go. పోవు. 'పరమధర్మాత్ముల భార్యాసమేతులనపహసింప దలంచియరుగుదెంచె.' M. iii. 5. 455. ఆరుదేడు he will not come 'అయ్యమరులు దివినుండి నేలకరు దేనేలా.' R. iii. 22. అరుగుపడు arugu-paḍu. v. i. To wear away, క్షయించు, నశించు, హీనమగు.

(p. 339) kṣayamu kshayamu. [Skt.] n. Decrease, perishing, wasting, consumption. క్షీణించడము, తక్కువకావడము, క్షయరోగము, అరుగుతెపులు. క్షయరోగము kshaya-rōgamu. n. Consumption, Phthisis. క్షయించు kshayinṭsu. v. n. To diminish, waste, wane. క్షీణించు, తగ్గు.

(p. 340) kṣīṇamu kshīṇamu. [Skt.] adj. Wasted, emaciated, decayed, exhausted, slender, thin. క్షయించిన, హీనమైన, కృశించిన, నశించిన, మదక్షీణోనాగః an elephant which is emaciated in its rut. క్షీణైపుణ్యేమర్త్యలోకంవిశంతి when their stock of merit [enjoyed by good men] is exhausted, they drop [in the shape of falling stars] again into mortal life. క్షీణపుణ్యులు those whose merit is exhausted. అక్షీణ undiminished. Vasu. i. 7. క్షీణము n. Decline, decay, decrease. క్షయము, తగ్గు. ఆయుఃక్షీణము the decline of one's age. ధనక్షీణము decrease of wealth. క్షీణత or క్షీణత్వము kshīṇata. n. Slenderness, thinness, emaciation, decay. కార్శ్యము, నాశము. క్షీణించు kshīṇinṭsu. v. n. To be wasted, emaciated, decayed. కృశించు, సన్నగిల్లు, నశించు, క్షీణమగు.

(p. 513) tarugu or తరువు tarugu. [Tel.] v. a. To be worn away. తగ్గు, క్షయించు. To pass away, to be done or finished. గతించు. M. XIV. ii. 139. HD. i. 1982. దోవతరగలేదు the way does not become shorter. ఎంత వ్రాసినాగాని పని తరిగేది లేదు however long he wrote, the work does not terminate. హౌసుతరుగును. fortune will cease or depart. కొలిచినదాన్నే మళ్లీ కొలిస్తే తరుగును if you measure grain twice, some of it will be lost. v. a. To cut or sever. To slice or carve, to mince: to wear away. To amputate. Vedanta Ras. iii. 213. n. Wastage. Deficiency, sinking. Brokerage or fees called custom. Tare. Cutting or wearing away. తరగరి or తరుగరి n. A broker. తరుగుబేరకాడు.

(p. 814) poluvaḍu or పొల్లవడు polu-vaḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To decrease. తరుగు, తగ్గు, క్షయించు.

(p. 1098) layamu layamu. [Skt.] n. Loss, destruction, extinction, annihilation, నాశము. The grass called cuss-cuss, వట్టివేరు. ఇంతలో ఆ ప్రభుత్వమునకు లయకాలము వచ్చినది these were the declining days of the dynasty. లయించు layinṭsu. v. n. To be destroyed. క్షయించు. To be attached to, be connected with, లగ్నమగు, సక్తమగు. వాని మనసంతా దానియందే లయించియుండగా while his every thought was engrossed by her.

(p. 1383) hariñcu or హరియించు harinṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To be digested, to waste away, to perish, go off or disappear, as a disease, to subside, క్షయించు, క్షీణించు, జీర్ణించు, అడగు. భేదికియిచ్చిన ఔషధము హరించిపోయినది the medicine was carried off. i.e., the medicine did no good. v. a. To counteract, expel, as an antidote does; to carry off. To take by violence, usurp, plunder, rob, steal, kill, destroy. దోచుకొను, దొంగిలించు, చంపు, నాశముచేయు, అడచు. మజ్జిగ మామిడి పండ్ల విషమును హరించును butter-milk counteracts the bad effects of mangoes. 'చోరవృత్తిని హరించి తముంగొని పోవుచుండగా.' N. i. 239. హరణము hara-ṇamu. n. Seizing, taking away forcibly, removing, carrying or bearing off; as of pain, &c. Stealth, theft, rape. Lapse or passing of time. నివారణము. హరించుట. గ్రహణము. A special gift or bonus: a nuptial present, అరణము, అల్లునికి కూతురికి. అరణము, అల్లునికి కూతురికి ఇచ్చినసొమ్ము. భుక్తికైనాహరణభరణ శక్తి చూచినాను I did to the best of my power to gain my bread. మిక్కిలి కాలహరణ మయినది there has been much loss of time. ఆ సొమ్మును చెల్లించకుండా కాలహరణము చేయుచున్నాడు he is putting off the payment of the money. వాడు ఊరక కాలహరణము చేస్తున్నాడు he is wasting the time. హరింపు harimpu. n. Waste, loss, embezzlement, abstraction. నాశము, నష్టము, దోపిడి, అపహారము. హరింపులోకితెచ్చు to digest, జీర్ణించు. హరికుడు hari-kuḍu. n. A thief, a gambler. తస్కరుడు, ద్యూతకారుడు. హరికప్రయోగము gambling, ద్యూతము. 'రాజమృగాదిముఖబంధనంబును హరిక ప్రయోగంబును.' G. ix. 177.
