Name of one of the village goddesses. గంటవేట ganṭa-vēṭa. n. Hunting in which lights and low bells are used. Bat-fowling. గంటసాల ganṭa-sāla. n. A tower in which bells are hung. A belfry.

A certain square measure of land, 1/4th of an acre. గుంట పెట్టి గంటవాయించు lit. to put in a pit and ring the bell, i.e., to forget మరచిపోవు. గుంటక gunṭaka. n. A harrow. పొట్టిగుంటక a small harrow. గుంటక గు౛్జులు the two pieces of wood in a harrow that connect the block with the front iron piece. గంటకదిండు the cross log of wood in a harrow. గుంటకపలుగు the iron part of a harrow. గుంటకపోయు gunṭaka-pōyu. v. t. (p. 1154) vāyiñcu vāyinṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To beat. strike, sound or play on a drum, a lute, &c. మేళముమొదలైనవాటినికొట్టు, వీణెమీటు, సన్నాయిమొదలైనవాటిని ఊదు. చదువునుగుంటబెట్టి గంటవాయించు to forget what one has learnt. వాయింపు vāyimpu. n. Sounding a drum, etc. వాయించుట, వాయిదము same as వాద్యము. (q. v.) వాయిద్యము corruption of వాద్యము (q. v.)

(p. 1225) vēḷa vēḷa. [Skt.] n. Time, a time, period or opportunity. కార్యోచితసమయము. కాలము. తరి. ఈవేళ to day, this time. ఆవేళ that day, that time. ఇంకొకవేళరండి come another time. ఒకవేళ perhaps. గంటవేళ one hour's time. రాత్రివేళ night time. సంధ్యవేళ the evening. ఆవేళన్ at that time. వేళలు (or సమయములు) కాచుచుండెడివారు they who watch for an opportunity. అట్లుచెప్పేవేళకు on his saying so. వాడు వేళాపాళాచూడడు he does not care for time or season. వేళము vēḷamu.
