(p. 347) gaṇḍa ganḍa. [Tel. and Kan.] n. A male. జగ డొబ్బడగండా a mighty hero. adj. Large పెద్ద. గండకత్తెర ganḍa-kattera. n. Large shears. The shears of destiny. Chenn. iv. 222. KP. iii. 115. (Metaphorically.) difficulty, distress, straits, a plague. వాని పెండ్లాము వానికి గండకత్తెరగానున్నది his wife is a perfect plague to him. గండగొడ్డలి ganḍa-goḍḍali. n. A bill hook: a sort of battle-axe. పరశువు. గండమృగము ganḍa-mṛigamu. n. The rhinoceros. BD. iii. 2170.

(p. 347) gaṇḍamāla ganḍa-māla. [Skt.] n. Scrofula or swelling of the glands about the neck; the mumps; a goitre, a wen on the throat. కుత్తుకమీదివ్రణము.

(p. 347) gaṇḍamu ganḍamu. [Skt.] n. The side of the head. చెక్కిలి. An elephant's temple. ఏనుగుచెక్కిలి. The baleful influence of a star. గ్రహయోగము. An evil event, a narrow escape, గొప్ప అపాయము. దినగండము నూరేండ్లాయిస్సు to live long in daily peril of ruin. నాకు దినగండముగా జరుగుచున్నది I am daily living from hand to mouth. గండము గడిచి బయలుపడ్డది the affair is over and this is the result. Lit the trouble is over, the child is born. అతడు తండ్రి గండమునకు పుట్టినాడు he was born to be the cause of his father's ruin. గండపాళి ganḍa-pāḷi. n. The temple or side of the head. గండమండలము ganḍa-manḍalamu. n. The temples of the head.

(p. 348) gaṇḍamu gandamu. [from Skt. గంధము] n. Sandal wood. చందనము. గందపట్టె a cross piece of wood fixed on to the back of a door తలుపు మీద నమర్చెడు అడ్డుకొయ్య. (A. ii. 9.) or a streak of sandal paste on a door or a wall. గండపుకొండు gandapu-konḍa. n. The fragrant hill, called Malaya. మలయ పర్వతము. గందపుమ్రాను the sandal wood tree. గందపొడి sandal wood powder. గంధద్రవ్యములు చేర్చిన పొడి.

(p. 751) piṇḍamu pinḍamu. [Skt.] n. A lump of rice, అన్నపుముద్ద, A ball. చెండు. A body, form, living frame. ఆకారము, శరీరము. The fœtus or embryo, గర్భస్థశిశువు. The oblations that are made to deceased ancestors. పితృదేవతలకిచ్చు అన్నపుముద్ద. ఈ గండము గడిచి పిండము బయటపడితే చూతము when the fray is over we shall see what happens. నాడు ఉత్పాతపిండము he is a perfect hero. నాకు పిండానికి లేక చస్తున్నాను I am dying for a bit of bread. పిండముపెట్టు to offer balls of rice to the manes of ancestors. Vēma. iii. 192. పిండలి or పిండలివండ pinḍali. (from పిండము.) n. A lump or mass. ముద్ద, గడ్డ. పిండలి పండు or పిండిలిపండు mud and slush. గడ్డలను నీళ్లును, గడ్డలుకట్టినబురద. 'తురగభురోగ్ధూత ధూళితో బెరసిన, వననిధిపిండలి పండుగాగ.' M. IV. iii. 150. పిండాకూడు or పిండాకుడు pinḍā-kūḍu. n. A contemptuous word for food.

(p. 825) pragaṇḍamu pra-ganḍamu. [Skt.] n. The upper arm. మోచేతికి మీదిభాగము, దండచెయ్యి, సందిలి.

(p. 927) bhēruṇḍamu bhērunḍamu. [Skt.] n. A fabulous double headed eagle. పక్షివిశేషము. 'శరభశార్దూలాది వరమృగావళులు, గండమృగములును భేరుండతండములు.' BD. iii. 2175. adj. Formidable, horrible. భయంకరమైన.

(p. 979) māla māla. [Skt.] n. A garland, wreath, necklace or heraldic collar: a coronal or coronet of flowers. A series or string of verses or songs. జపమాల a rosary or string of beads. గండమాల scrofula about the neck. వర్ణమాల the alphabet. మాలకరి or మాలాకారుడు māla-kari. n. A garland maker, a flower seller. A gardener, వనపాలకుడు. 'సురపొన్నలమరగట్టి మూడెత్తులుగజేసి మునుమాలకరివోలె.' G. vi. 49. మాలి māli. n. One who has a garland. A gardener. Radha. i. 74. మాలిక mālika. n. A chaplet, garland of flowers, a wreath. A line, or row. పూదండ, పూమాలె, పక్క్తిరూపమైన సమూహము.' తరుణ విద్యున్మాలికాలక్షణోదారంబై.' R. vi. 12.

(p. 1054) yamuḍu yamuḍu. [Skt.] n. Yama, the ruler of Naraka or hell, and judge of departed souls; 'the genius of death:' also, the guardian of the southern point of the heavens. He is often identified with death, and corresponds with the Grecian Pluto or Minos. దండధరుడు. ఇది యమగండముగానున్నది this is terribly difficult. యమకింకిరులు messengers of death, angels of death. యమధాటి yama-dhāṭi. n. A kind of weapon, ౛ముదారి. యమధారము yama-dhāramu. n. A double e edged sword.
