(p. 343) khanakuḍu khanakuḍu. [Skt. ఖన్ = to dig.] n. One who digs. ఖని khani. n. A mine, a quarry. గని. ఖనిత్రము khanitramu. n. A pickaxe. A spade or hoe. గడ్డపార పార.

(p. 353) gaḍḍa gaḍḍa. [Tel.] n. A lump, mass or clod, మంటిపెల్ల. Any bulbous root. దుంప. An island. ద్వీపము. A continent or part of the earth. A bank, brink, edge. A boil or ulcer, వ్రణము. తెల్లగడ్డ or వెల్లుల్లి garlic. ఎర్రగడ్డ an onion. గడ్డకట్టు to solidify, to gather into a lump. గడ్డనెక్కు to escape. గడ్డనువేయు to rescue. గడ్డపలుగు gaḍḍa-palugu. n. A pickaxe, an instrument for breaking clods. గడ్డపార gaḍḍa-pāra. A crowbar. గడ్డపొయ్యి a fire place formed by putting three stones or clods of earth together. గడ్డలుగా ఏర్పరిచిన పొయ్యి.

(p. 376) gunapamu gunapamu. [Tel.] n. An iron crow bar. గడ్డపార.

(p. 605) dūyu or దుయ్యు dūyu. [Tel.] v. a. To penetrate, go through. గుచ్చుకొను. To pull off the scabbard, as a sword. To take palm leaves out of a volume. ఊడదీయు to strip off leaves or boughs. To pluck, take, as a handful of grass. వరదూసి pulling off the scalbard. దెబ్బ దూసిపోయినది the blow glanced off. పేగులు దిస్సిరాపొడిచి stabbed him so that the bowels came out. Pal. 424. దూయుతీగె Same as దుశ్శిరము. (q. v.) దూయించు dūyinṭsu. (causal of దూయు.) v. a. To draw across, to pass over. కాలినగడ్డపారచేత దూయించెను he passed a hot iron over the hand. (This is a ceremony of ordeal in oaths, quite distinct from cauterizing.) దూసిపోవు to go through or penetrate. To glance off, as a dart.
