(p. 85) arrākali arrākali. [Tel. అర్ర+అకలి] n. Excessive hunger, torment, fatigue. కడగండ్లు. 'ఆకలికాదో, భక్తిన్ తేకువగలవాడుగానొ, తినవేలకృపన్, సాకగదేవన్ని పుడర్రాకలిబెట్టక పలాశనాసక్తుడనై.' Kalahasti. iii. 109.

(p. 88) alavaḍu ala-vaḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To be accustomed, be practised in. To be mastered, అభ్యాసమగు, పరిచయమగు, సాధ్యమగు. 'బ్రహ్మలోక పర్యతంబున్ గల యవివరించి చూచి తినలవడదిది నీవెతెలుపు హంపబడౌజ.' H. ii. 67. 'వీనియందలవడగల్గదీ జలరుహాక్షులకుంబ్రియ మెవ్విధంబునన్.' Swa. vi. 74. అలవరించు or అలవరచు ala-varinṭsu. v. a. To make, celebrate. To put on. చేయు, ధరించు, పెట్టు. 'వేదోక్త పద్ధతి వెలయంగ యాగంబులలవరించిన సోమయాజులకును.' N. iv. 106. 'హరిచందనము పూతలందంబుగా మేననలవరించి.' N. ii. 425. అలవరుచు, అలవర్చు or అలవరించు v. a. To habituate, accustom, excercise, teach. వాడుకచేయు, అభ్యాసపరుచు, పనుపరుచు, నేర్పు. అలవాటు ala-vāṭu. n. Use, habit,custom, practice. వాడుక, అభ్యాసము. అలవాటుగా నుండే adj. Customary, usual. వాడుకైన.

(p. 109) āgu āgu. [Tel.] v. n. To stop, to stay, asbtain, refrain. To bear (as a cord does a weight.) To be confined, set aside, or reserved. ఆయింటను ఆగబడి యున్నదేవకి (B. X. 75.) Devaki who was kept in restraint. తల్లిదండ్రులులెని బాలురు ఆగ నీవు దిక్కు thou art the refuge of the helpless. పశువులకు ఆరినబీడు land set aside or reserved for pasture. ఇది లేనిది నాకు ఆగదు I cannot get on without this. నా నోటిలో ఆ మాట ఆగదు I cannot keep that word a secret. ఆగు, ఆగించు, ఆచు, ఆపు the causal of ఆగు: āgu. [Tel.] v. t. To stop, check, hinder. To keep, tend. To look to, superintend, guard, protect, preserve. To fold or gather as a flock. నోరాచి మాట్లాడిరి they spoke cautiously. చెయ్యి ఆపక (T. v. 22.) without intermission. నిద్ర ఆచుట to refrain from sleep, keep away drowsiness. రాత్రిళ్లు ఇక్కడ మందులు ఆచుకొని యుండేవారు they used to keep cattle here at nights.

(p. 146) īla īla. [Tel.] n. Whistling. ఈలకరుచు īlakaruṭsu. v. n. To retain life, to set, or gnash the teeth. ఇలకరుచు. పండ్లు గట్టిగా కరచుకొను. ఈలగద్ద īla-gadda. A vulture; a kind of hawk; a miser లోభి. ఈలవేయు īla-vēyu. v. n. To whistle. ఈలపురుగు or ఈలకోడి īla-purugu. n. Moth. చిమ్మట.

To snort aloud. ఎగఊపిరి ega-ūpiri. n. A gasp. ఎగబోత ega-bōta. n Spreading upwards, giving bad advice, rumination, a brown study, discontent. ఎగువకు వ్యాపించుట, దుర్భోధనచేయుట. వానికి చెమట యెగబోత దిగబోతగా నున్నది he was in a sweat from head to foot. ఎగబోయు ega-bōyu. v. t. To give bad advice. దుర్భోధచేయు to hint. మాచించు. ఎగబ్రాకు ega-brāku. v. i. To creep up, crawl up. మీదికి ప్రాకు. ఎగరో౛ు ega-rōzu. v. i. To breathe hard. ఎగరొప్పు ega-roppu. n. Breathing hard. ఎగవిడుచు ega-viḍuṭsu. v. t. To let alone. ఊరకవిడుచు. ఎగవేయు ega-vēyu. v. t. To embexxle, misappropriate. అపహరించు.

(p. 210) odugu odugu. [Tel.] v. n. To make room. to move so as to accomodate తొలగు. To come to hand, to be got or obtained. దొరకు. To become plentiful సమృద్ధమగు. To be of use or convenient. To assist, be at hand or ready. ఈ బియ్యము పండితే అన్నము ఒదుగుకావడములేదు on boiling this rice, it does not swell to the proper quantity. ఈ బట్టచలికి ఒదగదు this cloth is of no use against cold. కొంచెము ఒదుగుము, ఆయనను కూర్చుండనిమ్ము move a little and let him sit down. ఒదిగి ఒదిగి ఉన్నారు; they yielded. నాకు ఇప్పట్లో రూకలు ఒదగలేదు I have not yet obtained the money.

(p. 213) oragu or ఒరుగు oragu. [Tel.] v. n. To lean, bend, bow down, slant, be inclined, recline or lie down, to be weighed down, as scales. వంగు, వాలు. ఒరగి crouching, hiding. పడవ ఒరిగెను the boat leant on one side. ఒరిగి పడినాడు he tumbled down. మిన్నొరిగినట్లు crashingly, suddenly, as though the skies were falling, ఆ లెక్కను నామీద నొరగదోసినాడు he got that debt charged against me. ఒరగు n. Crookedness వంపు. ఒరగు, ఒరగుదిండు, ఒరగుడుదిండు, or ఒరగుబిళ్ల a cushion or large pillow to lean against. adj. Crooked వంపైన. ఒరగుపోవు or ఒరగబడు Same as ఒరగు. q.v.
