Name of a certain sage. కుంభసంభవుడు. అగస్త్యశాకము the leaves of a leguminous tree which are dressed and eaten, అనిసెచెట్టు; అగస్త్యనక్షత్రము the star Canopus. అగస్త్యచారము the cource of Canopus. అగస్త్యాదయము the rise of Canopus. అగస్త్యభ్రాత (lit: the brother of Agastya.) a new-comer, who tries to make out that he is a great personage.

(p. 76) ayi (past p|| of అగు to become.) Having become, turned into. మాకు అయి నిలిచినాడు he stood like a post., i.e., he has transfixed with surprise &c. దొంగ అయి తిరుగుతున్నాడు he has turned thief. పోకిరి అయిపోయినాడు he has become a wicked fellow. అయిన (past rel. p|| of అగు to become.) Accomplished, becoming, agreeable, suitable. అయినపని a work that is accomplished, a becoming art. అయిన పెండ్లాము a good wife. అయినమందు a suitable medicine. అయినమనిషి a useful or proper man. అయినవాండ్లు friends, relations. See కాని. అయిన is also used to change nouns into adjectives as సొగసైన పిల్ల, ఆశ్చర్యమైన కార్యము a wonderful deed. For other uses, see under ఐన.

(p. 160) udyōgamu udyōgamu. [Skt.] n. An attempt, endeavour, undertaking; enterprise, exertion; activity. యత్నము. a profession, employment, occupation, calling, mission, office or situation; ఉద్యోగము చేయు to excercise an office. ఉద్యోగస్థుడు or ఉద్యోగి udyōgasthuḍu n. An officer, a functionary. ఉద్యోగించు udyōginṭsu. v. t. To undertake, set to do, to turn one's mind to: to apply oneself to యత్నించు.

(p. 180) ekarā ekarā. [Tel.] n. A court yard, a cook pit; a place in front of a house where an elephant is tied up. ఎనుగును కట్టు మొగసాల. (మను i. Intro: 48.) Also the English word Acre.

(p. 182) egayu egayu. [Tel.] v. n. To rise, to spring up. To fly or bound. ఎగురు, పైకి లేచు. నా కాళ్లలోను చేతులలోను మంటలెగసినవి my hands and feet are burning. ఎగసిపడు To attack, to be proud, to be arrogant, to fly into a passion. ఎగిరిపడు, గర్వించు, మండిపడు. నేను ఈమాట చెప్పినప్పుడు ఎగసిపడ్డాడు he flew into a passion. ఎగసిపాటు egasi-pāṭu n. Arrogance, pride, ఎగసిపడుట, గర్వించుట, మండిపడుట. ఎగసిపోవు to fly up or away, to fly off. ఎగువు eguvu. n. Flying, flight ఎగురుట.

(p. 182) egasana egasana. [Tel.] adv. Up, upwards, ఎగువగా. ఎగసనదోయు to push up, lift up: to trim the wick of a lamp పైకి తోయు.
