(p. 22) agaḍu or అగుడు agadu. [Tel.] n. Ill fame, bad name, clamour, disturbance. నింద, అపవాదము, రచ్చ, రట్టు, అల్లరి. దాన్ని అగుడుపెట్టకు you must not blab of this. అగుడుసేయనటంచు నానబెట్టినగాని.' N. 7. 154. అగడుపడు v. To be blamed; to be confused. నిందపడు, తొట్రుపడు. బెగడువలదనుచుబెట్టిద మగునెవ్వగ నగడుపడుచు నాడుపడుచులే పగవారికి వలదననా పగవారికి నేలయొసగె పద్మజుడనుచున్. Vasu. vi.

(p. 24) agāḍī agāḍī [H.] adv. Before, in front, forward, further on, ముందర. n. The ropes with which a horse's forefeet are tied. గుర్రముయొక్క మెడకుగాని లేక ముందరి కాళ్లకుగాని కట్టే తాడు. ఆ గుర్రము అగాడిపిచాడీలను తెంచుకొని పారిపోయినది the horse broke its head ropes and heel ropes and ran away.

(p. 32) aṭṭahāsamu aṭṭa-hāsamu. [Skt.] n. Violent, phrenzied laughter. Vehement action, exceeding effort or exertion. Toil, pains, laborious efforts. Pomp. 'అట్టహాసంబున నడరెడు తెరనూరు.' N. ix. 31. నా కూతురిని పంపితేనేగాని కూడదని అట్టహాసము చేస్తాడు he protests violently that his daughter shall go with him. రాజు బహు అట్టహాసముతో బయలుదేరినాడు the king set out with great pomp. అట్టహాసకాడు n. A pompous or ostentatious man.

(p. 35) aḍalu aḍalu. [Tel.] v. n. To grieve, be in sorrow, be afraid. దుఃఖపడు, చింతించు, భయపడు, వ్యాకులపడు, బిగ్గిరగా రోదనము చేయు. 'నను నిముషంబుగానక యున్న యూరెల్ల నరయు మజ్జినకుడెంతడలు నొక్కొ.' Swa. ii. 18.

(p. 39) aṇaka aṇaka. [Tel.] n. The act of bringing the yoke under the neck. అణకలు వేసికొను v. n. To go wrong, turn restive, as a bullock which turns the wrong way in the yoke. ఎద్దుగాని గుర్రముగాని నోగ కెదురు తిరుగు. 'వెగడొందిరవితేరి నమొగలగట్టినయట్టి వాహంబు లణకలువైచికొనియె.' విక్ర iv. 51. తిన్నగా జరగనీయక మటిమాటికి అణకలు వేసికొంటాడు instead of going on smoothly he now and then turns restive.

(p. 49) anagu anagu. [Tel.] v. n. To unite with; to obey. అనగిపెనగియుండు anagi-penagi-yunḍu. v. n. To be familiar, easy, affable. కలియగలుపుగానుండు. 'అట్టిజగజంతకేగాని యనగిపెనగియుండుదువెనీవు మాబోంట్ల యొద్దజేరి.' N. ix. 393.

(p. 55) anupayuktamu un-upaỵuktamu. [Skt.] adj. Useless. unnecessary, unserviceable. కొరగాని, పనికిమాలిన.

(p. 60) annuva annuva. [Tel.] adj. Slender, little. small. అల్పము, సూక్ష్మము. 'ఇన్నగమునందు గాండివమున్నదియది గాని మద్భుజోద్రేకవిలాసోన్నతికోర్వవు పెద్దయునన్ను వలీవిండ్లు కురుచలత్యంతంబున్.' M. IV. iv. 100. 'అజానుబాహులు అన్నువనడుము.' ND. p. 31.

(p. 68) abhighariñcu abhi-gharinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To put a few drops of clarified butter upon rice before eating or before the rise is put into the sacrificial fire to purify the food. నేతి చుక్క వేయడము, భోజనమునకు ముందుగాగాని ఆహుతిచేయడమునకు ముందుగాగాని అన్నములో నేతి చుక్క వేయడము.

(p. 75) amānuṣamu a-mānushamu. [Skt.] adj. Beyond the power of man. Supernatural. Inhuman, below human nature. మనిషికి అలవిగాని.

(p. 80) arigōlu ari-gōlu. [Tel.] n. A basket boat lined with leather. పుట్టి. 'ఆరిగోలు బట్టుక అపగదాటు.' L. xii. 118. 'అచి చంద్రమండలంబకాదు చదలేట దేలుదంతపుటరిగోలుగాని.' p. iv. 251.

(p. 82) arupukonu arupu-konu. [Tel.] v. a. To digest; to enjoy the possession of జీర్ణముచేసికొను, దక్కించుకొను. వారిసొమ్మును అన్యాయముగా అపహరించినాడు గాని దానిని వాడు అరుపుకోలేడు he has got the wealth wrongfully and will not be able to enjoy it.

(p. 101) asadu a-sadu. [Tel.] n. Slenderness, smallness, minuteness. A wretch, a vagabond. సూక్ష్మము; అల్పము. కొంచెము, అల్పుడు. 'అతని తమ్ములునాత్మజులునునసదులే.' M. V. i. 263. అడదు adj. Small, slender, minute. సూక్ష్మమైన, కృశమైన, సన్నని, కొంచెమైన, అల్పమైన. 'నీసముడగుగాని యసదుగా తలంపగరాదు.' M. IX. i. 100.

(p. 117) āmani āmani. [Tel.] n. Alarm, fright, annoyance. Also, season, time, harvest time. Plenty. వసంత, ఋతువు. సమృద్ధి అన్నం బామనిగానిడుము give them plenty to eat. పేరామని a long time. ఆమని చెలికాడు Cupid. మన్మధుడు.
