(p. 173) ūca ūṭsa. [Tel.] n. The soft core of the plantain or similar tree. బొందె. A thorn bush. ముండ్ల దుబ్బ. ఉచకోతగా గొంతుకోసి వేసినాడు he cut the throat without any trouble. ఊచ ūṭsa. adj. Withered. ఊదకాలు a withered leg. ఊచచెయ్యి a withered hand. ఊచపట్టు to grow big enough for the core in a plant to form. ఊచపోవు to become lean. కృశించు. ఊచబియ్యము ūṭsa-biyyamu. n. Grain not quite ripe. బాగుగా ముదరని జొన్నలు మొదలైనవి, ఊచముట్టు ūṭsa-muṭṭu. adv. To the core entirely, wholly. 'ఉల్లమంత గడంచి యూచముట్టుగను కల్లలాడించిన గలదెపన్నిదము.' H. D. i. 252.

(p. 504) taḍi taḍi. [Tel.] n. Damp, moisture. తేమ. Water నీరు. భయమువల్ల నోట తడిలేక through fright my tongue having dried up. చేతడి అరచు (P. i. 502.) my hand is not yet dry, i.e., it is this moment done. adj. Wet, damp, moist. తడిబట్ట a wet cloth. తడిగుడ్డతో గొంతుకోసినాడు he cut his throat with a damp cloth, that is, he ruined him by fair and gentle means; hanging a man with a silken halter. తడిపొడి slightly wet. తడిపడు taḍi-paḍu. v. n. To be moist. తడియొత్తు taḍi-y-ottu. n. A towel, a napkin తడితుడుచుకొనుగుడ్డ. తడియు taḍiyu. v. n. To be wet, to get wet. తడుపు it is wet తడపి ఉన్నాడు he is wet తడువు taḍupu v. a. To moisten or wet. తడియజేయు. n. A modesty piece or loin cloth. గోచి. తడుపుదాలుపు a bachelor బ్రహ్మచారి. A towel చిన్నగుడ్డ. adj. Wet (as a cloth) తడిసిన (గుడ్డ.) తడిపించు taḍipinṭsu. v. a. To cause to become wet, వానిచేత ఈ బట్ట తడిపించు you must make him wet the cloth.

(p. 633) nammu nammu. [Tel.] v. a. & n. To believe or give credit to. To trust or confide in. To rely on, to have faith in. విశ్వసించు. To suppose, imagine. నమ్మనగు it is believable, విశ్వసింపవచ్చును. నమ్మకము, నమ్మిక or నమ్మిగ nammakamu. n. Trust, reliance, assurance, confidence, belief, faith, dependence. నమ్మకముగా confidently, positively, trustworthily. నమ్మకమైన nammakam-ai-na. adj. Trustworthy, faithful. నమ్మకస్థుడు nammaka-sthuḍu. n. A trustworthy or faithful man, a respectable man. నమ్మిక మాటలు persuasive words: assurance, beguiling. నమ్మినవాణ్ని చెరపరాదు you should not injure him who confides in you. నమ్మించు namminṭsu. v. a. To cause to believe or trust. To assure, cheat, promise, persuade. నమ్మించి గొంతుకోసినాడు lit: he made them believe in him and cut their throat, i.e., he ruined them.
