(p. 117) ābāḍu ābādu. [H.] adj. Cultivated, prosperous. n. A town. పట్టణము. ఆబాదుపరుచు or ఆబాదుచేయు to cultivate; also, to make a place habitable. ఆ గ్రామమును ఆబాదు చేసెను. he made the village a great town.

(p. 118) āmiṣamu or హామిషము āmishamu. [H.] n. Means, property, worth, resources, gross produce. అయిన౛ు. ఆ గ్రామమునకు పోయి ఆమిషము చూచుకొని వచ్చినాడు he went to the village and examined what its resources were. 'తనహామిషము అమ్మి ఆ విలువలో కొంత దాచివేసి' Pritchetts Acts v. 1.

(p. 762) puñjamu punjamu. [Skt.] n. A heap, quantity, collection. రాశి, ప్రోగు. 'శోకపుంజముల్.' oceans of sorrows. M. IV. iv. 282. 'రత్నపుంజభరిత' full of gems. M. I. v. 36. పుంజి punji. n. Abundance, plenty, సమృద్ధి. adj. Plentiful, abundant, prosperous. ఆ గ్రామమును పుంజిచేసినాడు he promoted the welfare of the village. 'ఖంజరీటంబుల పుంజిదెలుప.' N. ix. 179. టీ బలమును కనుపరచగాను. వారిప్పుడు పుంజిగానున్నారు they are now in good circumstances. Also, a phrase for Four. రెమడుపు జీల రూపాయిలు eight rupees. పుంజికొను punji-konu. v. n. To be grouped thickly, to collect in a crowd, గుబురుకొను. పుంజీభవత్ punjī-bhavat. adj. Collecting, gathering. సోగయ్యే. 'పుంజీభవత్పాటలవ్రాతము.' A. ii. 65. టీ దట్టమైన కలిగొట్టు పుష్పములు. పుంజీభవించు punjī-bhavintsu. v. n. To become a heap, రాశిపడు, కుప్పయగు.

Ruin, నాశము, లయము. గ్రామమును పెంపు చేసినవారు those who enlarged the town. v. a. To ruin, నాశముచేయు. పెంపుడు pempuḍu. adj. Fostered, reared, adopted (as a son,) brought up, tamed, domesticated, పెంపబడిన. పెంపుడుకొమారుడు or దత్తపుత్రుడు an adopted son. పెంవుడుతల్లి an adoptive mother. పెంపుడుతండ్రి an adoptive father. పెంపుడుచిలుక a pet parrot. పెంపరలాడు pemp-ara-l-āḍu. v. n. To be increased, augmented. మిక్కుటమగు. పెంపారు, పెంపగు, పెంపుచెందు, పెంపొందు or పెంపుమీరు pemp-āru. v. n. To increase, grow, improve. వర్ధిల్లు, గొప్పయగు, అతిశయించు.

(p. 1202) vīsamu vīsamu. [Tel.] n. The fraction called one sixteenth, the sixteenth part of anything. A grain of gold equal in weight to one grain of rice. వడ్లగింజయెత్తుబంగారము. వీసబడి or వీసుబడి vīsa-baḍi. (వీసము+బడి.) n. Cess or tax, levied on a town and then divided among several persons each of whom pays his share, a certain tax on the profits of a trade. గ్రామమునందు భాగప్రకారముకలిగిన భూస్వాతంత్య్రము. A ryotwari settlement. A measure of land equal nearly to two acres. వీసర or వీసరము vīsara. (వీసర+అర.) n. Want, defect, deficiency, diminution. కొరత, వెలితి. వీసరపడు or వీసరపోవు vīsara-paḍu. v. n.
