(p. 53) anu anu. [Tel.] v. n. To say, to think, to suppose. చెప్పు, తలచు, ఎంచు. (Past p.|| అని. Relative p.|| అనిన or అన్న, Aor. p.|| అనే, అనెడి, అనెడు, అనేటి. Neg. p.|| అనని.) అట్లా అంటాడు so he says. కావలెననే మనసు a desire to have it. తళుక్కుమను to shine or glitter. చేతితో ఇట్లా అన్నాడు he did so with his hand. అనుటయు on his saying so. అనగా may be translated 'or;' thus అచలముగా కొండ Achalam or hill; Achalam which means a hill. అనుడు adv. On (his) saying this. అనగా, అనేటప్పటికి, అనవుడు. అనుకొను anu-konu. [Tel.] v. n. To say, suppose, think, (middle voice of అను to say or think.) నేను ఇది యిస్తాననుకొన్నాడు he thought that I would give him this.

(p. 103) astamayamu or అస్తమానము astamayamu. [Skt.] n. Sunset, evening. ప్రొద్దుక్రుంకడము. ఇసుక కమ్ముకొని లోకమంతా అస్తమానమైనట్టున్నది clouds of sand obscured the face of nature. అస్తమించు astamiṭsu. v. n. To set, to draw towards evening. ప్రొద్దుక్రుంకు మబ్బుకమ్ముకొని లోకము అస్తమించినట్టున్నది the world is enveloped in shade. అస్తమితము astamitamu. adj. Set, as the sun. క్రుంకిన. అస్తము astamu. [Skt.] adj. Set, cast, thrown, disappeared, lost, gone. క్రుంకిన, పోయిన, మరుగైపోయిన, అస్తబలుడు he who is exhausted. అస్తము n. An imaginary mountain in the west behind which the sun is believed to set. అస్తాచలము, అస్తాద్రి astachalamu. n. The western mountain. అస్తమయపర్వతము.

(p. 201) ēla ēla. [Tel.] n. A hurrah, or hoop. A carol or catch used by rowers of boats శృంగారపు పాట. 'ఏటికట్టగుడిసెవేతాం ఏరువస్తే కూడాపోదాం ఓ, ఓ, గొల్లభామా!' (The books named గరుడాచలము, ఆటభాగవతము, పారిజాతము, &c. contain many specimens of these carols.) Also, a chorus of applause. ఏలపాటలు a kind of play, a game played by children బాలక్రీడావిశేషము. (p. 249) karakari karakari. [Tel.] n. Violence, outrage. చలము, కలత, క్రూరభావము. Anger, dislike ద్వేషము. Pain బాధ. adj. Angry, cruel కఠినుడు. కరకరించు kara-kar-inṭsu. v. n. To rage, be violent.

(p. 359) garuḍuḍu , గరుడి, గరుత్మంతుడు, గరుటామంతుడు or గరుటాలమంతుడు garuḍuḍu. [Skt.] n. The eagle or sovereign of the feathered race. The Brahminy or Maroon-backed kite, Haliastur indus. (F.B.I.) గరుత్మంతుడు. గరుడిరవుతు garuḍi-ravutu. n. Vishnu. గరుడముక్కువాడు a man with a Roman nose. గరుడధ్వజుడు garuḍa-dhvajuḍu. n. A keen, fearless look, like that of an eagle. గరుడవాస్తు garuḍa-vāstu. n. A certain plan on which some Hindu houses are built. గరుడసరులు garuḍa-sarulu. n. A fine sort of rice. గరుడస్తంభము or గరుడకంబము garuḍa-stambhamu. n. A post erected before a temple, with bells at the top. గరుడాగ్రజుడు garuḍ-āgrajuḍu. n. An epithet of Anura, as being the elder brother of గరుడుడు. గరుడాచలము garuḍā-chalamu. n. The name of a hill in the Cuddapa District: and the subject of a favourite poem. గరుడాశ్వారు garuḍāḷvāru. n. A name for an eagle. A brahminy kite. గరుడాసనము garuḍ-āsanamu. n. Kneeling on one knee: this being the attitude of the griphon Garuda.

'సగళాతుగుబ్బలజోళ్లు' woollen shoes with knobs. Pal. 62. గుబ్బకాయ a long gourd, Cucurbita laegenaris, సొరకాయ. గుబ్బ gubba. adj. Round గుండ్రని. గుబ్బటిల్లు gubba-ṭillu. v. n. To spread, as scent, sound or fire. వ్యాపించు. 'గుబ్బిని కాచరుండు బలుఖడ్గము కేల నమర్చి దిక్తతుల్ గుబ్బతిలంగ పేరుకొని కోయనియూర్చుచు.' HK. iii. 154. గుబ్బమేకులు large round-headed nails. గుబ్బతిల్లు or గుబ్బతిలు gubbatillu. v. i. To excel అతిశయించు, ఉప్పొంగు. గుబ్బలాడి gubbal-āḍi. n. A full breasted woman. A young woman. యువతి. T. iii. 3. గుబ్బలి gubbali. n. A hillock, a hill, a mount. కన్నెగుబ్బళి a small hillock. గుబ్బిలిరేడు, lit. the king of hills, i.e., the Himalaya హిమచలము. R. i. 77. గుబ్బలికాడు or గుబ్బిలికాడు or గుబ్బిలి gubbali-kāḍu. n. The spotted owlet. Athene brama (F.B.I.) పైడికంటి. గుబ్బలివిలుకాడు lit. the hill archer, i.e., Siva. శైలధన్యుడు. గుబ్బలిపట్టి lit. the 'daughter of hills:' or నగతనయ a name of Parvati. గుబ్బసరము gubba-saramu. n. A necklace composed of different kinds of gems.

(p. 403) candanamu chandanamu. [Skt.] n. Sandal: Sirium myrtifolium. చందనగంధి chandana-gandhi. n. A sweet maid, a blooming girl. చందనాచలము chandan-āchalamu.. n. The Malaya mountains in the south west of the Indian peninsula, where sandal is produced.
